    Part -Time Lecturer: Computers in Education (Contract ending 31 December 2024), Dept. of SP & FET Teaching, Faculty of Education (Re-advertisement)

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • A relevant Master's or Honours degree in CAT (Please note that preference will be given to candidates with a relevant Masters degree).
    • CAT as a major at Bachelor's level
    • A relevant teaching qualification
    • At least five (5) years’ experience in teaching CAT at school level or two (2) years teaching the subject at tertiary level
    • Knowledge, understanding and experience in the preparation and evaluation of meaningful teaching experiences for Senior and FET Phase students.

    Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities

    • Teaching Computer Literacy in Education in the Senior and FET Phase from First to Fourth year level

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • A relevant Master's Degree
    • 4 years of managerial or coordinator experience in working with academic qualifications
    • A minimum of 4 years experience in Cooperative Education and Work-Integrated Learning
    • Track record of extensive industry partnership-building
    • Experience with successful WIL student placements in industry
    • Knowledge of higher education legislative framework related to cooperative education and work-integrated learning.
    • Experience with curriculum development in WIL
    • Promotion of research in WIL-related topics and the future world of work

    • A Valid Driver's License.

    Director: Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • An appropriate Doctoral qualification (with preferably a Full Professor or Associate Professor credentials)
    • At least 5 years management experience in the internationalization of higher education and research environment
    • Evidence and a proven track record of strategic planning leadership and the management of strategic projects and partnerships at the organizational level (locally and internationally) in support of Research and Innovation development in a higher education context
    • Demonstrable experience of the ability to network and interact with senior Industry, Government, non-profit, and University leaders nationally and internationally.

    RECOMENDATIONS

    • A sound understanding of strategic planning and implementation as it pertains to the Higher Education Research and Innovation environment.
    • A sound understanding of the Internationalization of Higher Education locally and globally.
    • An accomplished academic who has a sound understanding of both the management and practice of the research cycle, including that of research uptake

    Manager: Investigations

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • National Diploma in Forensics Investigation, Criminal Justice, Law, or a related field.
    • Grade A PSIRA registration or registerable with PSIRA within 3 months of assumption of duty.
    • 5 years in leading and managing investigations and 2 years in an investigation of crime (7 years)
    • Valid driver’s License and be able to drive

    NRF SARChI Research Chair in Teacher Education in the Global Institute for Teacher Education and Society (GITES): 5-year contract

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Doctoral qualification in Education.
    • Eligibility for a full professorship at the university.
    • An outstanding research reputation, with national and international acclaim in disciplines relevant to the Chair.
    • An extensive publishing record in prestigious academic publications.
    • A history of successful postgraduate supervision up to the PhD level.
    • Proficiency in the financial administration of research funds.
    • Proven experience in generating funds.
    • Experience in managing various sizes of research projects, including report writing.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
    • Strong interpersonal and leadership qualities.
    • Participation and active engagement in university committees
    • A strong interest in using creative and interdisciplinary research methods.
    • Candidates who do not currently reside in South Africa must be willing to spend at 50% of their time in the country.
