    Material Coordinator (Fixed Term Contract) - Somerset West

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    The Material Coordinator is responsible for the successful execution of order placement and material expediting for the on-time deliveries. 

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • Receive, process and administrate requisitions – expedite deliverables
    • Manages and monitor supplier performance management against deliverables.
    • Engage suppliers to increase their capabilities in line with production requirements to meet sales target.
    • Assessment of current supplier’s capabilities regarding manufacturing by evaluating them with regard to machines, equipment in line with Procurement.
    • Develop good relationships with suppliers, gain knowledge of products, sources, prices, design of technical commodities and services
    • Achieve maximum integration with other departments within the company
    • Identify, investigate, potential opportunities to current suppliers to better delivery capabilities.

    WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

    • Minimum Qualification: Diploma in Procurement/Logistics/Supply Chain/Transport/ Operations.
    • Valid driver’s license and/or Learners License
    • 1-2 years’ experience working in the Manufacturing, Logistics, Supply Chain environment
    • 1- 2 years’ experience in working with an ERP System. SAP will be an added advantage
    • Computer Literate (MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Procurement/Technical qualification experience will be an added advantage
    • Read and understand technical drawings will be an added advantage
    • Good written, verbal and presentation skills
    • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills
    • Good problem solving and analytical skills
    • Broad Supply Chain experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Good planning and organisational skills – time management
    • Proven ability to take responsibility and high level of integrity

    Executive Manager: Quality Assurance

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    Strategy Development & Implementation

    • Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices, systems, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid RDM in improving Quality of its products and operational performance.

    General Management

    • Develop, implement, and maintain a robust Quality Assurance program that aligns with industry best practices and applicable standards.
    • Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages professional growth and development.

    Quality Assurance (QA)

    • Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, or other industry-specific certifications.
    • Ensure that RDM KPI Quality Targets are met as per organisational Objectives and Targets
    • Implement effective quality assurance procedures to identify and address defects or deviations from specifications.
    • Continuously review and improve existing quality assurance processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Work strongly with manufacturing Teams in ensuring Scrap limits are not exceeded.
    • Identify root causes of quality issues and work with relevant teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Lead quality audits, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up on identified non-conformities.
    • Assess potential risks related to product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation plans to prevent quality-related issues.
    • Develop training programs to educate employees on quality standards, processes, and best practices.
    • Ensure that the management team is knowledgeable and compliant with quality-related policies and procedures.
    • Analyse quality metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and report findings to senior management.
    • Inculcate and drive continued efforts in ensuring a culture built on the 6 Sigma methodology.
    • Generate regular quality assurance reports to track performance and communicate results.
    • Collaborate with procurement and vendor management teams to evaluate and qualify suppliers based on quality criteria.
    • Monitor and assess supplier performance, ensuring adherence to quality standards and contractual obligations.
    • Develop a Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) program to ensure supplier and raw material risk registers are kept up to date
    • Manage noncompliance by suppliers working with SQA, including issuing of Non-conformance Reports (NCRs)
    • Assist product development at times regarding raw material queries and testing
    • Assist in identification of expired stock, extensions where necessary and disposal when needed
    • Issue Certificate of Analysis (COAs) and concessions, where required

    Financial and Budget Control

    • Monitor and achieve budget and forecast for department

    Continuous improvement

    • Recommend, support and implement continuous improvement activities, processes and procedure to optimise results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements expected by the Company and the Customer

    WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality or equivalent
    • Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing skills (advantageous)
    • At least 10 years’ relevant experience in quality management within a medium to large organization (automotive or petrochemical preferred).
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in staff management, performance management and leadership.
    • Experience in Quality Assurance Systems.
    • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Certification in quality management (ISO 9001).
    • Master quality standards, problem-solving methods.
    • Ability to lead and perform well under pressure.
    • Strong leadership, problem solving and communication skills.

    Fundamental understanding of:

    • Applying a systemic approach
    • Customer & stakeholder expectations in respect of high quality products
    • Engagement & communication–from shop floor level to senior management
    • Adherence to processes, procedures and policies
    • Raw material, manufacturing and procurement

    Shipping Coordinator

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for the successful mapping of shipping plan for all RDM products, execution of shipping plan and delivery of final product from point of origin to the client at the agreed time and place. The incumbent will analyze the systems employed in importing, exporting and transporting products and services.

    KEY PERFORMAMNCE AREAS

    • Map & review the shipping plan in line with the financial sales plan as well as Consolidate quarterly shipping plan to reduce shipping costs.
    • Managing the 12-month rolling outbound shipping plan.
    • Monitor shipping budget on monthly expenses by comparison of Budgeted values per project.
    • Manage & Monitor all aspects of methods of shipping and/or distribution with the ultimate goal of improving efficiency, thus generating higher profits for the company.
    • Render logistics support to new requirements or potential orders such as shipping option details and any special requirements.
    • Propose shipping solutions for local and external customers/client.
    • Experience in Operational SLA management of 3rd party service providers - forwarding & clearing agents, vessel agents, road transport service providers, container suppliers.
    • Experience in managing all customs submissions and documentation pertaining to materials/components in the Rebate Store. Point of Contact with SARS/Customs for the Rebate Store will be an added advantage.
    • Extensive experience in Managing and establishing best communication relations with Transport & Freight Forwarder service providers.
    • Understanding of handling dangerous goods and/or flammables will be an added advantage.
    • Extensive knowledge of all modes of transport regulations, compliance standards and INCOTERMS (latest).
    • Knowledge, understanding and transactional exposure on ERP systems.
    • Knowledge of SAP would be an added advantage.
    • Responsible of preparing Shipping presentations for monthly reporting & as when required to support Project Planning.

    WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

    • Diploma in Shipping /Maritime/Logistics/Transportation or equivalent.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in Shipping, Logistics or Transportation environment.
    • Must have 5 years’ proven experience in Shipping, Logistics, Transportation and managing outbound logistics through exports.
    • Must have 5-years proven experience in Shipping, Logistics, Transportation and managing inbound logistics through imports.
    • Understanding of handling dangerous and/or flammable goods will be an added advantage.
    • Good knowledge of all modes of transport regulations, compliance standards and INCOTERMS.

    Chemical Engineer

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    • Execute Projects within an Existing Project execution philosophy

    Manufacturing Excellence Engineer

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    To execute value stream mapping and integrated capacity improvements in support of Operations Performance.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • Execute specialist Value stream mapping of all manufacturing process within RDM
    • Use value engineering tools to analyse operation performance, identify and optimise best systems for continuous improvement of manufacturing execution and capacity utilisation
    • Reporting of current capacities and areas to be improved

    WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

    Qualification & Experience:

    • BTech/BSc Engineering in Industrial Engineering.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the field of lean production/manufacturing.
    • Working knowledge of
    • Value Engineering;
    • Process Mapping;
    • Process Improvements engineering;
    • Continuous improvement;
    • TPM; and
    • World class manufacturing.
    • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems is desirable.
    • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office for reporting purposes.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Analytical Skills (experience in IT environment is a bonus);
    • Strong planning and administrative skills with highly organized approach;
