    Archivist - Quality Control

    Key Performance Objectives

    Cataloguing:

    • Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all stakeholders
    • QC all catalogues (this will include stock footage, entertainment, sports, promotions, and meta-tagged content)
    • Coordinate the timely correction of cataloguing and meta-tagging errors identified and reported by ensuring that the responsible cataloguers address these issues within specified timeframes. Expert knowledge and experience to ensure effective administration of the thesaurus, and various control lists/dictionaries through monthly discussions with archivists about keyword entries to transfer knowledge and to ensure 100% accuracy, inclusive of the correct spelling of names and surnames, places, etc.
    • Update thesaurus and dictionaries with relevant keywords to optimize content discovery.
    • Effective communication and guidance to the team to ensure cataloguing standards and quality of work regarding global entries and scene selections and descriptions.
    • Ensure that all legacy Titles are up to standards as per project requirements.
    • Provide user support for the cataloguers and stakeholders.

    Administration & Standard Operating Procedure:

    • Maintain an accurate record of requests processed.
    • Provide training to new customers and stakeholders.
    • Seek opportunities to continuously improve on cataloguing workflows and procedures.
    • Accurate and quality handover report on activities.
    • Provide client onboarding and training support onto the Bynder platform.

    Qualifications

    • College Degree
    • Excellent English knowledge, written and spoken

    Experience

    • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in broadcast/ information services or similar position
    • Video Entertainment Industry specific knowledge and experience
    • Understanding of general international cataloguing rules and practices/standards

    Scheduler Macro & Micro

    Key Performance Objectives

    Accurate Scheduling to Publish On Time

    • Construct scheduling (release schedule) to ensure correct publishing of content across all Sections and Countries e.g. SOUTH, WEST, EAST AFRICA, International Movies & Series, Kids
    • Produce a meticulously accurate publishing recording
    • Ensure publish ready, Release by required deadline
    • Schedule Trailers according to information supplied by marketing and VOD teams
    • Construct and deliver fault free Release Schedules, against strict deadlines, for all current and future Showmax Services/Platforms.
    • Accurately capture the Programming and content from the Planning schedule (CV Content Calendar) to the Macro schedule (Synergy) across required Sections including Africa Customization.
    • Query anomalies to ensure accurate running orders (schedules)
    • Create Formats, if required
    • Ensure thorough checking of own schedules
    • Generate running order schedule and maintain on-air elements in the current operating system, Synergy’s Micro Scheduling System

    Compliance

    • Ensure schedule is compliant with regulatory and guidelines in all relevant Sections and Countries.
    • Ensure adherence to set company policies and procedures
    • Liaise with Internal departments GE and Acquisitions teams, Curation, Media Ops, EPG, Marketing and Traffic on the status of the schedules as per agreed standard operating procedure

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • A Degree in Media Studies/Video Technology or similar

    Experience

    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience of technical broadcasting experience
    • On-Air transmission experience
    • Understanding of broadcast value chain

    Social Media Manager

    Key Performance Objectives

    Strategy Execution

    • Create and execute the overall social media strategy for sport in multiple regions, with input from teams including PR, marketing, strategy, SuperSport and other relevant business areas.
    • Set KPIs and monitor these monthly with input from data, social media, marketing and in line with the overall business and social media goals
    • Develop a comprehensive content calendar aligned with sports events, tournaments, and cultural moments relevant to each African market.
    • Ensure a balance of promotional content, engaging visuals, user-generated content, and educational material.
    • Collaborate with content creators, designers, and video producers to develop high-quality, culturally relevant content.
    • Curate and share user-generated content, testimonials, and fan interactions to foster community engagement.
    • Oversee the day-to-day management of social media platforms
    • Ensure consistency in messaging, branding, and tone across platforms.
    • Foster a vibrant and engaged community of sports enthusiasts by responding to comments, questions, and feedback in a timely and personalised manner.
    • Regularly analyse social media metrics, including reach, engagement, conversion rates, and audience growth, to track performance against KPIs.
    • Develop and implement crisis communication plans to address any social media issues or incidents swiftly and effectively.

    Reporting

    • Provide insights and recommendations to adapt social media efforts for specific cultural and market nuances.
    • Provide detailed reports and actionable insights to inform future content and campaign strategies.
    • Report on website traffic generated from social media, including the number of visitors, pageviews, and conversion rates for specific goals.
    • Analyze the performance of individual posts and content pieces to determine what types of content resonate best with the audience.
    • Report on changes in the number of followers and fans across social media platforms over specific time periods.
    • Gather and present demographic, geographic, and psychographic insights about the social media audience to help refine targeting strategies.

    Stakeholder Management

    • Work closely with the PR and Crisis Management teams to ensure a cohesive response.
    • Liaise with regional marketing teams to ensure alignment with overall brand and marketing strategies across African markets.
    • Initiate and participate in conversations related to sports trends, events, and news.
    • Identify and collaborate with local sports influencers, athletes, and fan communities to amplify SuperSport reach and credibility.
    • Develop partnerships for co-created content and promotional activities.
    • Work with the paid media team to optimise growth and engagement

    Benchmarking, Governance & Risk Management

    • Keep up to date with all SuperSport legal and design studio compliance requirements to ensure best possible communication.
    • Ensure all content and campaigns adhere to legal and copyright guidelines, especially when using third-party content or user-generated material.

    Qualifications

    • Degree in journalism, communications, or similar field
    • Post Grad will be advantageous
    • Play a key role in a structured decision-making process through planning, monitoring, marketing execution and reporting for the Agency

    Experience & required skills

    • 5-8 years experience in social media and digital marketing with strength in sports marketing – preferably in football.
    • Excellent personal communication and diplomatic skills
    • Working knowledge of various Social Media platforms, Business infrastructure systems and MS Office
    • Ability to relate convincingly and credibly with peers;
    • Ability to conceptualise and implement communication tools;
    • Demonstrable competency in planning and execution;
    • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
