    Administrator (Kathu)

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience

    • Grade 12
    • A tertiary qualification would be advantageous
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a training administrator or in a similar role
    • Safety experience would be advantageous
    • Proven track record of business administration skills and filing systems
    • Thorough understanding of the training and safety environment specifically in the mining industry
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Attention to detail – accuracy in recordkeeping, reports and communication

    Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

    • Maintaining and upkeeping of training database
    • Providing training material needed by trainers
    • Making copies and filing of completed assessments
    • Communicating with external service providers
    • Printing of certificates for signatures
    • Sending completed documents to the relevant sites
    • Assisting with the document control of the mine on Procedures, etc

    Control Room Supervisor (Mpumalanga)

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience

    • Grade 12
    • Competent A certificate
    • Minimum of 7 years' demonstrated experience with responsibility for managing duties at an Opencast Mining on a site >300 k BCM/month
    • Legal Liability certificate
    • Blasting certificate would be advantageous
    • Valid First Aid certificate would be advantageous
    • Previous Control/ Dispatch Room experience will be advantageous
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Must have ability to do planning, lead, organize, control, and follow up
    • Must be able to work under pressure
    • Ability to respond and solve operational concerns
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Computer literacy (MS + Online Cloud Based Information System)
    • Candidates must be medically fit to perform duties in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act

    Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

    • Supervise and direct the work of production staff
    • Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with health and safety regulations
    • Conduct a proper Safe declaration of the pit when required
    • Conduct a risk assessment prior to start of shift with all the relevant employees
    • Ensure timeous start up and end of shift shut down
    • Ensure the daily Safety meeting is conducted prior to each start of shift
    • Monitor production processes and quality control
    • Maintain production records and prepare shift reports
    • Respond to emergencies and troubleshoot production and safety issues
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and work with management to implement changes
    • Communicate with other shift supervisors and plant management to coordinate production activities
    • Train and develop production staff on the job
    • Any other relevant adhoc work as instructed by line supervision
    • Monitor, interrogate, and interpret mining performance information
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives

    Production Supervisor (Mpumalanga)

    Environmental Specialist (Lyttelton)

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Environmental Management or other relevant qualifications
    • Preference will be shown to candidates with 5 years plus working experience in similar role at a mining company, consulting agency or government department
    • Local exposure and regional knowledge will be an advantage
    • English speaking and writing
    • Preference for EE candidate with relevant experience

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Undertake and manage Environmental Impact Assessments for Full EIA/EMP and Basic Assessments
    • Reports for Environmental Authorisation under NEMA/MPRDA and integration with Specific Environmental Management Acts (SEMA), WULA, SDFs, and Heritage Act
    • Undertake and manage Environmental Audit Reporting to assess compliance with Conditions and Regulations
    • Design and conduct field investigations to quantify, analyse and verify environmental data
    • Understand Mine Plans and design Rehabilitation Plans for closure of mines
    • Undertake and manage application for closure of Permits and Rights
    • Technical report writing on noise, dust, groundwater and surface water quantity and quality, hydrocarbon monitoring
    • Conducting and management of Public participation
    • Engagement with other specialist and give specialist briefs
    • Use GIS and other softwares in compilation of maps and analysis
    • Determine mine rehabilitation costs
    • Responding to compliance notices and rectification of environmental transgressions
    • Liaising with regulatory bodies such as DMRE, ASPASA, MINCOSA, DWS and Local Government
    • Keeping up to date with relevant changes in environmental legislation
    • Liaising and communicating to Operations Managers and reporting staff

    Fitter and Turner (Worcester)

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience

    • Fitter and turner trade certificate
    • N2 certificate with fitting and turning qualification
    • Valid driver’s license (code 10)
    • 3 to 5 years stable working experience on process plants, preferably in aggregates crushing and screening
    • Computer literate
    • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
    • Fault finding and repair on mechanical, hydraulics and pneumatics
    • Knowledge of and applicable skills in plant maintenance, repair and installation of equipment
    • Stone crushers, screen and shaft impactor
    • Aggregate crushing and screening processes

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Meet with the Maintenance Foreman and Production staff to discuss maintenance/engineering breakdowns in the plant
    • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools as well as measuring instruments and reassemble equipment
    • Must have a broad knowledge of Conveyer Belts, Gearboxes, Bearings, Pumps, Crushers (4.25 cone crushers, Sandvic cone crushers, Metso HP crushers, Telsmith cone crushers, Osborn 44H, Jaw crushers, VSI Crushers) and Screens
    • Perform other maintenance actions, following checklists
    • Assemble, install and/or repair, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
    • Executing daily planned task maintenance (PM maintenance scheduling and ensures all mechanical equipment operates to required OPP’s or overall plant performance))
    • Identifying causes of mechanical dysfunction and repairing same using appropriate and cost-effective solutions
    • Ensuring safe work practices and compliance with all safety, health and environmental (SHE) legislation specifically the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHS Act)
    • Fine tuning plant maintenance and repair systems in conjunction with production and engineering staff to ensure optimal plant throughout whilst maintaining required level of plant safety
    • Completion of all required paperwork and submission of all required reports
    • Ensuring a good example of housekeeping, safety standards and leadership

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience
