    Civil & Structural Design Coordinator

    Job Description

    • The Civil & Structural Design Coordinator holds a supervisory position and supports the Lead Civil & Structural Engineer and to Project Design Coordinator in planning and coordinating deliverables and activities related to civil & structural design and modelling in medium to large-scale minerals and metals projects. The primary objective of the design coordination function is to ensure consistency across project engineering disciplines and design deliverables, by establishing standards and norms, managing activities and practices, facilitating effective communication and reporting for technical drawings and 3D models.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide guidance, direction, mentorship and support to the project design team by:
    • Setting goals, assigning tasks (where necessary), reinforcing roles and responsibilities, and monitoring progress
    • Ensuring that 3D modelling progress management has been planned and implemented according to procedure
    • Proactively driving 3D model maturity for scheduled internal and client stage gate model reviews.
    • Ensuring that design concepts, drawing deliverables and 3D models are being prepared, reviewed and approved according to the project management plan
    • Ensuring that the site and plant plot plans are updated and issued according to the project management plan
    • Coordinating and reviewing discipline deliverable estimates and drawing registers during project planning and re-planning
    • Implement quality assurance to achieve the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of design deliverables by:
    • Ensuring that drawing standards and procedures are adhered to, to maintain consistency across engineering disciplines. This ensures that deliverables are presented in a standardized manner
    • Ensuring that actions and issues arising from design and model reviews are recorded, assigned and closed-out

    • Manage issues and risk related to design layout and deliverable production during the design phase by:
    • Identifying design layout and interface threats and opportunities
    • Developing mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project success
    • Ensuring that all design reviews are scheduled and implemented according to the project management plan
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution by:
    • Monitor and effectively communicate all design changes, design holds, and design decisions across disciplines. Additionally, it is crucial to accurately indicate the relevant design holds on the 2D deliverables and ensure their correct representation in the model.
    • Maintain accurate project documentation and reference information by
    • Ensuring that designers maintain drawing history files, whether virtual or physical
    • Ensuring that all design input and receivable information (client data, vendor data, survey data, etc.) is up to date and can be relied upon

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 10 years of experience working within an EPCM environment.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience with mining, minerals and metals projects
    • Able to demonstrate experience with both greenfield and brownfield projects
    • Strong understanding of plant design and equipment layout and ability to coordinate with other discipline design groups to progress integrated plant design

    Job Description

    • Responsible for the structural, mechanical, platework and piping areas on the construction site,

    Responsibilities

    •  Review SMPP contractors QA and QMS manuals, plans and procedures for compliance with national codes and standards (for SMPP disciplines)
    • Ensure that structural, mechanical, platework and piping construction activities are conducted in accordance with procedures and set standards
    • Monitor/audit contractors to ensure prescribed quality and safety requirements are met/maintained

    Engineering Systems Specialist

    Job Description

    • To maintain and implement the company preferred engineering systems and workflows
    • To provide technical application support to the engineering and design teams

    Responsibilities

    • Install and configure engineering and design applications on user’s machines as required
    • Ensure correct configurations are deployed to user’s machines
