    Millwright UG

    Job Description:

    As a Millwright Underground you will be responsible to:

    • Obtain daily and weekly work instructions from Plant Supervisor
    • Prepare and plan work priority list and resource requirements in order to complete tasks
    • Ensure that all resources requirements are communicated to Plant Supervisor in order to complete allocated work orders
    • Inform the Team Leader when work is being conducted in the area of responsibility
    • Co-ordinate maintenance activities with the Team Leader, to ensure that the operation is not effected or alternative plans need to be prepared
    • Show the appropriate Team Leader how certain low level maintenance and preventative steps can be undertake by the operational team within process
    • Communicate any stumbling blocks to the appropriate Plant Supervisor so that plans can be made
    • Ensure the safe and proper running of all machinery and equipment are conducted
    • Be available for after-hours standby duty

    • Ensure that all planned maintenance schedules are accurately complied with
    • Ensure that all work conducted is performed to the required standards and specifications
    • Ensure that all safety and legal requirements are carefully followed
    • Identify opportunities to improve operations

    • Identify risks and threats to the process proactively
    • Ensure that the correct tools are used to complete tasks
    • Ensure that materials and equipment are available for the shifts requirements in the area
    • Communicate plant defects to the Team Leader or Engineering Supervisor via notifications
    • Ensure that employees have clear work expectations and plans
    • Ensure that employees work in a safe environment
    • Assist the BA Officer in completing safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident reports for area
    • Compile an accurate shift/work order reports
    • Ensure that technical data is accurate
    • Complete requisitions for stock items required
    • Prepare ad-hoc reports for management or other information customers
    • Complete the necessary job cards relating to the task done including and description of work and spares used
    • Participate in required meetings including safety
    • Accurately complete role administration requirements
    • Act in Plant Supervisor positions

    The role is in the Operations department at a Band 8 level, reporting to the Foreman

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 10 or Technical Trade Specific N2
    • Trade Certificate for Millwright (non-negotiable)
    • Medium Voltage Certificate (advantageous)
    • Attach all qualifications upon application

    Knowledge & skills required:

    • At least 3 years’ post training experience
    • Mining experience
    • Valid driving license code 08
    • Must be able to work shifts
    • Willing and able to do standby and overtime

    Public Relations Officer (Fixed Term Contract)

    Other duties will be the following:

    • Local media management (newspaper and broadcast media)
    • Engage with local media entities to build media relations
    • Source content to write and publish weekly press releases
    • Context review: community and political context and update stakeholder database
    • Outdoor screens mounting and management (KCC, Airport and other areas identified within the community)
    • Produce Aga Bokamoso quarterly publication, in liaison with the external service provider
    • Awareness campaigns – provide support to the campaign’s owner and the CL team in delivering media coverage and brand positioning for campaigns
    • Develop Kurara FM advert scripts for commemorative months, campaigns and identify other opportunities for advertising and radio campaigns
    • Develop plans for video content for some commemorative months, e.g. Youth month and Women’s month
    • In collaboration with Sishen mine cross functional team, develop scripts for Kurara FM business slot
    • Negotiate and update billboards as required
    • Profile donations for brand positioning purposes
    • Investigate use of social media and media monitoring specific for for Sishen mine
    • Organize external events in collaboration with the communication and events team
    • Manage and update branding and collateral storeroom accordingly
    • Investigate an opportunity of adding other media entities within the region for broader brand positioning purposes
    • Explore opportunities to build a narrative for Sishen mine (using existing structures and exploring opportunities for new structures)
    • Liaise with suppliers and contractors on Public Relations activities for coverage and partnership work to be done
    • Work with Communication team to update mine TV screens with community, campaigns, and projects content
    • Create a media and other stakeholder/s database for purposes of brand positioning
    • Submit monthly reports as part of monitoring and evaluation

    This role is in the Corporate Relations Department on a Band 8 reporting to the Specialist Community Liaison

    Qualifications
    You will need the following Qualification and Experience:

    • Grade 12
    • Diploma/Degree in Public Relations/Communications
    • 3+ Years of experience in the Field
    • Mining experience will be an advantages
