    Sustainability Compliance Coordinator

    Purpose of the role:

    The group sustainability team is responsible for coordinating various workstreams to ensure Ivanhoe operates as a good corporate citizen in line with the Group’s Sustainability Objectives. The Group Team therefore requires a strong coordinator who is also able adjust to a continuously changing sustainability landscape. As the Group team is small, the Sustainability Coordinator will be required to assist with several key tasks which all form part of the Group’s Key Performance Indicators. Two key workstreams for Ivanhoe are the Decarbonisation and Water Strategies. Experience in both of these aspects would be preferred.
     

    You will have the following:

    • Bachelor of Science, specializing in environmental, water and/or climate science.
    • Minimum 7 years’ experience in the environmental/water/climate management field.

    Preferably you will have:

    • Masters in environmental, water or climate science

    You will have advanced skills and knowledge in:

    • Attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to manage data on Excel.
    • Ability to understand environmental and social data.
    • Good people skills, be able to interact effectively and professionally with all relevant stakeholders

    Technical Skills should include:

    • Ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders and coordinate work required
    • Ability to strategise for longer terms plans for adequate and effective implementation of sustainability reporting and compliance

    Personal Competencies should include:

    • Willing to work extra hours when required.

    WSMD Metals Accountant

    This role is responsible for:

    • Managing the metals settlement process with offtakers and external laboratories.
    • Liaise with offtakers on monthly settlement data and processes.
    • Reconciling weight, moisture and assays between the mine gate and settlement point, and offtakers.
    • To provide management with up-to-date information on contained metal, weight, moisture and assay results.
    • Provide technical input on all WSMD processes.

    This role will form part of the Ivanhoe Marketing team.

    • A bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in Chemistry or related field.
    • Proven experience as a WSMD specialist in the mining or natural resources industry, preferably with experience from a metals laboratory or a commodity marketing operations.

    • Strong background in mining and a deep understanding of metal accounting principles.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to: 

    Process:

    Data gathering and capturing:

    • Work within operational system to accurately gather and reflect metal balances, weight and assay results.
    • Gather all necessary documents from the logistics team, offtakers and laboratories.

    Metals settlement:

    • Manage metals settlement process with offtakers and external laboratories 
    • Liaise and negotiate with offtakers on monthly settlement data and processes 
    • Reconcile mine gate to settlement point assay, moisture and weight 
    • Reconcile settlement point to offtakers assay, moisture and weight. 

    Metals invoicing and reporting:

    • Liaise with the Financial and Commercial Accountant on invoicing to offtakers.
    • Utilise tools, analysis, reports and proactive engagement to ensure precise reporting of metal inventories.
    • Generate metals balance sheet with supporting details.
    • Receive invoicing queries, validate with records, rectify errors and communicate results to Financial and Commercial Accountant to be provided to offtakers.
    • Provide daily reports regarding logistics and sales as they relate to metallurgical activities.
    • Prepare various financial or analytical reports as required.

    Inventory management:

    • Assist with stock reconciliations and valuations as required 
    • Maintain data and records for auditing and future refence 

    WSMD processes:

    • Agree WSMD processes with offtakers.

    Financial And Commercial Accountant

    Job Description

    Ivanhoe Marketing is a newly established commodity marketing, sales and logistics entity within the Ivanhoe Mines Group. 

    This role is responsible for:

    • Managing metal sales invoicing, debtors receipts and applications.
    • Managing accounts payable and ensuring suppliers are paid for goods and services delivered.
    • To keep abreast of all logistics and stock movements within the value chain that may trigger invoicing/ payment/ journal requirements.
    • Assist the financial manager with treasury management.
    • Supporting the financial manager with the day-to-day accounting tasks.

    This role will form part of the Ivanhoe Marketing team.

    • Preparation and calculation of metal sales invoices aligned with all quantitative and qualitative data received from the logistics function and the Metals Accountant and in line with agreements.
    • Preparing debtors and managing incoming payments aligned with financial policies and procedures.
    • Performing day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables data.
    • Preparing bank deposits and financial data required to receive foreign currency.
    • Reconciling the debtors ageing and debtors’ ledger.
    • Verifying discrepancies and resolving clients’ billing issues.
    • Facilitating and following up on payment of invoices due.
    • Liaising with logistics team and WSMD Metals Accountant to ensure accurate retrieval of information.

    Purchases and accounts payable:

    • Preparing creditors reconciliations and outbound payments.
    • Ensuring accuracy of invoices received from creditors by liaising with the logistics teams and ensuring alignment to contracts/agreements.
    • Preparing bank payments and financial data required to pay foreign currency.
    • Reconciling creditors ageing and creditors’ ledger.
    • Verifying discrepancies and resolving outstanding invoice/payment issues.
    • Facilitating and following up on payment of invoices due.
    • Liaising with logistics team to ensure accurate retrieval of information.

    Treasury management-support the Financial Manager with the following:

    • Preparation of payments and allocation of receipts 
    • Preparation of bank reconciliations 
    • Accurate accounting of all treasury related items.

    Financial accounting – support the Financial Manager with the following:

    • Month end close and accurate reporting of financial data in the accounting system.
    • Reconciliations between the operational system and the accounting system on inventory and accounts payable.
    • Reporting to the Ivanhoe Mines Group.
    • Preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
    • Provide day-to-day business decision support to operations and general managers on various financial topics.

    Ivanplats is looking for a Management Accountant,

    • IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to   develop this “mine of the future”.
