Management Accountant at Ivanhoe Mines

Ivanplats is looking for a Management Accountant,

• IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to   develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

• Grade 12/ Matric or equivalent (Maths & Physical Science NOT mandatory)
• National Diploma in Financial Management (NQFL 6 Minimum)
• Degree Accounting Management (NQFL 7 Minimum)
• JDE/ Hubble (Systems)
• Supervisory Development Course
• CGMA - will be considered advantageous.

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

• 1-3 Years in field working experience
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

• Initiate, oversee and consolidate the budget preparation process for the section for the coming fiscal year in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Ensure effective Management accounting reporting to all relevant stakeholders.
• Implement effective and efficient Management Accounting and Financial Reporting structures, policies, and governance procedures where appropriate!
• Ability to provide accurate and reliable Forecast and budgets.
• Establish reporting best practice for area of responsibility.
• Deploy an integrated risk management process, quality assurance and compliance framework throughout our areas of responsibility.
• Drive effective problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Function as a Management Accounting subject matter expert.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders to enable optimisation of the business value chain.
• Coordinate, monitor and supervise the performance of direct reports.
• Report on section’s performance efficiencies
• Supervise VMI and related consignment stock contracts.
• Support and give costing direction to Engineering section and be able to analyse CAM system and give supervisory advice.
