    Food And Beverage Manager (Cape Town, Greenpoint)

    Job Advert Summary    

    • ANEW Hotel Greenpoint requires the services of Food and Beverage Manager. The individual will be responsible for creating a good first impression, exceeding customer expectations through efficient delivering and friendly service with great positive attitude.  

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric
    • Hospitality Certificate or Hospitality Management Diploma qualification will be an advantage
    • At least 5 years’ experience within the hospitality industry in 4 star property.
    • Must have at least 18 months of management or supervisory experience
    • Must be standards orientated
    • Good knowledge of Food and Beverage
    • High level of customer service, high level of numeracy skills, disciplined, organised, attention to detail, deadline driven, and cost control skills essential.
    • Excellent Communication Skills in English and Isizulu and / or IsiXhosa will be advantage
    • High degree of self-motivation and ambition
    • Skills to work both independently and as part of a team
    • Time management

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Accountable for achieving budgeted revenue numbers for the F&B Outlet/s.
    • Revenue Control- Fully responsible for the F&B department’s financial performance and long term sustainability.
    • Contributes to ensuring that guest satisfaction is established and maintained by the employees of the Food & Beverage outlet/s.
    • Contributes to maintaining appropriate staffing levels across the F&B outlet/s.
    • Excellent knowledge of Opera and Micros with specific reference to Point of Sales.

    Executive Housekeeper (Cape Town, Greenpoint)

    Job Advert Summary    

    • ANEW Hotel Greenpoint is seeking the services of a Head Housekeeper. The successful individual will be responsible in ensuring the entire hotel, all Guest’s Rooms and Public Areas are cleaned in a consistent and professional manner, creating results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the Company.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Hospitality certificate or management diploma will be advantageous.
    • +2 years in a 4-star unit as Executive Housekeeper or Room Divisions Manager
    • Knowledge of the Opera -Property Management System essential
    • Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook & Explorer)
    • Good planning, organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to work accurately under pressure.
    • Must be guest service driven.
    • Ability to work shifts.
    • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and telephonic.
    • Must be able to use initiative & work unsupervised.

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Responsible for the overall running of housekeeping department of the hotel, cost effectively and to required standard, in accordance with the Hotel’s operational requirements.
    • Supervises all personnel in these departments.
    • Check all rooms on cleanliness, readiness and maintenance issues and is responsible for ensuring the Minimum Standard Operating Procedures are being met.
    • Responsible for staff training
    • Forecast anticipated volumes of business and schedule staff accordingly.
    • Maintain records of stock taking and working to our budgeted amounts of guest supplier and other consumables.
    • Responsible for the control of all stock, operating equipment, maintenance, and cleaning of cleaning equipment.

    Commis Chef (Cape Town, Green Point)

    Job Advert Summary    

    • ANEW Hotel Greenpoint is looking for a Commis Chef to join the winning team.
    • The preparation and delivery of high-quality, food, deserts and pastry items in a busy restaurant and function kitchen. Also be able to undertake a varied list of food preparation for the kitchen daily, according to the required standards of the hotel.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric, tertiary qualification would be added advantage
    • +2 years experience as a Chef 
    • Ability to work in a fast paced kitchen

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Ensure stocks are neatly packed in order to get an accurate count.
    • Assist in checking, daily stock par levels to be maintained for fridges, freezers, dry stores, consumables and operating equipment     
    • Operating equipment to be checked and stored in a secure place
    • Products used must always be of the highest possible standard and rotated and received according to official Hotel policy.               
    • Stock requisitions to be checked against actual issue and any discrepancies to be reported to person who ordered/issued immediately.
