The successful candidate will assist management in implementing and controlling the Safety management Pogramme within the company and to facilitate compliance to applicable legislation regarding the health and safety of employees and subcontractors.  Applicants should have appropriate experience across range of projects with a medium to large construction company.

Requirements

• National Diploma or degree in Health and Safety Management 
• Must be professionally registered as a Safety Officer with SACPCMP
• At least 8 years' experience as a Safety Officer in Construction industry 
• Driver's license and own reliable vehicle will be beneficial
• Knowledge of construction safety regulations and standards
• Proficient in Microsoft office and other relevant software
• May be required to work outside of Cape Town

Requirements

Skills / Experience:

• CETA/MQA Registered Assessor and Registered Moderator on the following scope(s)
  • Skills Program in Operate Mobile Machinery for Surface Excavation operation.
• ETDP Statement of Results ( & Provider Certificate) for
  • 115753 : Conduct outcome-based assessments
  • 115759: Conduct moderation of outcome-based assessments
  • (115755: Design and Develop outcome-based assessments an advantage)
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in operating mobile machinery for surface excavation operations
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Mining training discipline.
• Computer Literacy.
• Good verbal and written communication in English.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation.
• Coaching and mentoring skills.
• Valid code 08EB driver’s license. 
• Must be willing to travel we required. 

Responsibilities:

• Development of learning material and methods.
• Implementation and achievement of agreed upon strategic objectives.
• Presentation of mobile machinery skills programs.
• Training, evaluation and assessment of learners and conducing of on-the-job training.
• SHE adherence and alignment to ensure that safety targets are achieved.

Description

Individual will be required to assist in various areas in the plant yard, which consist of the following: cleaning and spray painting of formwork and scaffolding; stacking and storing of formwork scaffolding; inspection and repairs on formwork and scaffolding; panel beating and spray painting of plant and machinery.  The best candidates should be reliable, highly motivated, with the ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position is a Limited Duration Contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and priming.
• Apply paint using industrial spray equipment to various surfaces.
• Mix and match paints to achieve desired colour and finish.
• Ensure high-quality finish and compliance with specifications.
• Maintain and clean painting equipment.
• Ability Follow Safety protocols and regulations.
• Inspect finished work for quality assurance.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines.

Requirements

• Minimum Grade 12 Certification
• Relevant certifications or training in industrial paintings would be advantageous
• Proficiency in using industrial spray-painting equipment.
• Ability to mix and match paints to achieve the desired finish
• Previous experience in panel beating or spray painting
• Knowledge of inspection, stock taking and stacking and storage of formwork and scaffolding
• Shortlisted candidates must be able to pass pre-employment medical fitness including drug test
