    Project Manager

    PURPOSE

    This exciting opportunity exists in Fraser Alexander to take up challenges related to the sourcing, development, management and maintenance of the project pipeline and lead the project management process on awarded contracts against scope, safety, time, quality, cost and productivity standards.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Project Identification and Development

    • Assist the Line Manager and other relevant Manager’s to identify appropriate opportunities within the divisions geographic target areas.
    • Develop and drive an engagement approach for any identified opportunities.
    • Assist with proposal submissions.
    • Conclude each opportunity, won or lost, with a close out report.

    Tender Submissions

    • Compile all project tenders.
    • Follow a structured tender and authorisation process compliant to FA policies.

    Business Functional Management

    • Executing projects to support sustainability of the broader business, including reputation and meeting industry and market requirements.
    • Ensure compliance and adherence to standards, policies, procedures, practices and legislative requirements at all levels.
    • Identify gaps and implement approved improvements throughout the project operations.
    • Contribute to organisational effectiveness through developing resources, knowledge management and operational practices throughout the project delivery.

    Project Management

    • Plan and set up the project according to contractual and tender requirements, as well as considering best practice and standards.
    • Ensure that the project is executed within budget, scope, timelines, productivity and SHEQ standards.
    • Ensure appropriate management controls, measures and reports are put in place.
    • Ensure that corrective actions are taken on the project based on trend analysis and other management information.

    Management Lines/Project Teams

    • Management of internal and external support services in the execution of tasks.
    • Mentor any internal personnel to better deliver on their roles and responsibilities.
    • Provide technical and project support to the Africa Division.

    Technical Management

    • Oversee quality control for all work within area of specialisation.
    • Alignment to the relevant FA internal Quality Management System(s).
    • Assist Operations to report on technical/ service/quality/project compliance.

    SHEQ Management

    • Ensure that the project site and project practices are fully compliant to SHEQ requirements, policies, legislation and systems.
    • Balance strategic, legislative, client and operational requirements for environmental management, whilst ensuring strict compliance throughout the project.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • B.Sc./B.Tech in Engineering (preferably Mechanical Engineering).
    • Professional Project Management Registration.

    EXPERIENCE

    • At least 5-8 years relevant experience in project development, project management; commercial and legal management, contract management; risk management and project resources management.

    SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    • Excellent skills in commercial and project development management.
    • Knowledge and skills in tailings management.
    • Knowledge and understanding of technical and operational aspects within field of expertise particularly related to FA Africa core service offerings.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Valid Driver’s License.
    • Medically fit as per company standards.

    General Worker - North West

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work with team leaders / supervisors.
    • Perform inspections on designated area of responsibility everyday.
    • Planning and managing of tailings material on site and at depositing area.
    • Assist with the problems solving on operational challenges and report ant deviation to the immediate supervisor.
    • Adhering to discipline procedures in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.
    • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations as per all safety legislations and company procedure.
    • Extension and connecting of pipelines
    • Opening and closing of valves in line with operational lines.
    • Take responsibility for your performance.
    • Ensure a good housekeeping at all times.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Grade 12 or Equivalent

    EXPERINCE

    • 0-2 Years relevant experience in an earth moving or familiar environment.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Tailings dam operational background/ experience in the mining or related industry for at least 2 years will be advantageous.

    SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    • Good communication.
    • Good planning and organizing
    • Team work observant
    • Innovation and Actioned-orientated.

    GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be able to understand the relevant standard operating procedure.
    • Medically fit to work in a mining environment
    • must pass the mine' criminal screening process.
    • May be required to work overtime from time to time.
    • Valid drivers licenses will be advantageous.

    Excavator Operator

    PURPOSE

    • Perform the task of excavating and loading of materials as per company SOP/STP.

    RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Excavating and loading of materials
    • Levelling using the bucket
    • Cleaning using the bucket
    • Perform Adhoc work as and when required
    • Performing the task in accordance with relevant safety rules, regulations and conditions
    • Conducting of a walk around inspection
    • Reporting all defects
    • Completion of pre –start checklist
    • General House-keeping of Excavator machine

    Requirements
    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum Grade 10
    • Valid Competency Certificate of an Excavator Machine

    EXPERIENCE

    • Approximately 3 years relevant work experience in an earthmoving environment
    • Familiar with mining equipment and safety related standards i.e. Excavator
