    Packaging Specialist - South Africa

    The Packaging Specialist plays an important role in ensuring that the production of CCBA’s manufactured products is achieved through economically sound and efficient processes that minimise negative environmental impacts while optimising cost and enabling innovation. The employee supports the specification, design, testing, selection, optimisation, and implementation of portfolio-specific packaging solutions for CCBA through their expert and specialised knowledge.

    • They are responsible for ensuring the design and development & execution of solutions related to their allocated projects are aligned to CCBA’s strategic focus.

    This employee is a specialist and takes responsibility for implementing their portfolio of packaging solutions to support the Operations Sustainability agenda with a focus on:

    Key Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Developing and implementing new and existing packaging materials, improving circularity, and ensuring that CCBA achieves its World Without Waste (WWW) targets.
    • Fulfilling a subject matter expertise role by identifying and delivering innovative packaging solutions which meets key business deliverables like margin improvement and improved sustainability solutions.
    • Using deep technical skills and relationship with their vendors to evaluate and recommend the adoption of new technology.
    • Maintaining a network of peers and external subject matter experts and communities of practices to exchange knowledge and ideas on emerging trends and innovations. 
    • Developing, documenting, and managing packaging material standards to support Supply Chain capability & FMEA assessment process to ensure that materials supplied are consistently within the process window of production lines.
    • Deploy change management protocols, workflow, and automation for managing change of materials through the business.
    • Conducting structured plant visits to problem solve, identify risks and opportunities, and support plant engineering staff.
    • Partnering with portfolio specific suppliers to identify and control critical quality input parameters within their processes to ensure that they consistently achieve the required quality outputs to consistently support our processes.
    • Leveraging both internal (e.g., Procurement) and external (e.g., Suppliers) relationships and deep technical knowledge to identify business needs that will support the Operations Sustainability strategy and facilitate project approval.
    • Defining and scoping the deliverables and engineering details of approved projects with set standards of execution.
    • Planning, monitoring, and acting as point of escalation on deployment of projects.
    • Working with Multi-disciplinary teams, including in country resources, to ensure successful project execution.
    • Working with Procurement to technically assess supplier capability and negotiate and agree contracts including the deliverables, terms, and conditions.

    SHEQ Systems Specialist - Premier Place

    Key Purpose Statement 

    • Implement SHEQ and other relevant Business Systems, to form an integral part of the value chain, which drives ownership, business value and compliance to relevant requirements (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FSSC 22000, OHSAS 18000, NOSA, KORE, e-Mark, and the CCBA Ltd Integrated Management Framework).

    Implementation and Maintenance of SHEQ and related Business Systems 

    • Ensures that the overall Quality database (e.g. Achiever Plus and InfinityQS) is maintained, updated, enhanced and meets compliance, drives business value and sustainability requirements.

    Maintenance Controller - Elgin

    Key Purpose Statement

    • To ensure that the line is always available for production and then produces at the rated speed and perfect quality with minimal waste through optimum maintenance execution.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities    
    Asset Care

    • Partake in the development of the asset care plan for the packaging plant and providing expert advice.
    • Support the implementation of the asset care plan for the Packaging plant, ensuring the MAS’s, PA’s and operational teams have the required technical competencies to execute the plan

    • Compile monthly SHEQ reports for site, Central Office, and the Business Unit.

    Skills, Experience & Education    
    Qualifications and Experience 

    • National Diploma in Food Technology, or an equivalent qualification. 
    • SHEQ system training and/or Lead Auditor training will be an added advantage. 
    • Minimum of 5 years work experience in a SHEQ information management position within the bottling industry or food industry (Quality and Environmental experience is a prerequisite)
    • Some travelling is required.

    Knowledge

    • Experience and implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FSSC 22000, NOSA, KORE and e-Mark.

    • The purpose of this role is to ensure the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform is supported and maintained.  The CCBA landscape consists of F&O, CE, Dual Write, ISV’s and 3rd parties. The role will interact with business stakeholders to manage service expectations and collaborate with outsourced vendors to ensure SLA adherence.

    Manager: IT Service Delivery - South Africa

    • The Manager: IT Service Delivery is responsible for ensuring that all businesses and users of technology solutions in CCBA have access to the required IT equipment and tools and that they are supported in the optimal use of technology solutions, systems, and services. The role, has an important planning, coordinating, managing, and monitoring responsibility to ensure that all the relevant support activities and services are deployed within stipulate service level agreement requirements. They will manage relationships with vendors by requesting quotations, contributing to the RFP process when necessary, negotiating service level agreements, enforcing SLA adherence, and escalating instances of breach of the SLA.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Continuously staying up to date and researching IT support and Service Management best practices, tools, and trends.
    • Researching, evaluating, and advising on the selection of services for the IT Support Services catalogue.
    • Planning the delivery model, metrics, and execution of each service catalogue item.
    • Determining an optimal resource strategy to ensure the efficient operations of the IT business support team and the Service Desk by considering the outsourcing options, potential vendors and suppliers and collaboration opportunities with other teams in CCBA IT.

    Quality Food Safety & Enviromental (QFSE) Manager - Nigel

    Key Purpose Statement 

    • To manage the total Quality, Food Safety and Environmental function, in the relevant plant, to ensure compliance to applicable standards, procedures and regulatory requirements to deliver quality product to consumers.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities    
    Key Outputs and Accountabilities 
    Implement and Manage the Quality Business Plan for the Plant 

    • Implement the Annual Business Plan (ABP), and drive, monitor and report on QFSE goals for the plant. 
    • Develop plans for Laboratory Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) requirements and ensure the execution thereof.
    • Report on KPI’s aligned with internal Management, CCBA and The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC), including all Quality, Environmental and Sustainability parameters such as water usage, energy usage, plant waste and recycling. 
    • Adapt CCBA, and relevant, Quality standards, protocols, and procedures for the plant.
    • Provide support to the Manufacturing & Technical (M&T) and Logistics teams at plant level to deliver quality products to consumers.

    Ensure Product and Package Quality meet Legal, CCBA and TCCC Requirements

    • Ensure that Product and Package Quality standards are monitored and controlled for the plant according to legal, internal and Coca-Cola Requirements.
    • Ensure that ingredients and package quality is monitored and controlled according to standards for all internal products.

    • Ensure that standards are implemented in line with International Standards Organisation (ISO 14000, 9000, FSSC 22000), Coca Cola (KORE) and legal requirements.
    • Develop and implement environmental systems and guidelines for the plant.
    • Determine environmental goals through Aspect and Impact Assessments.
    • Ensure adherence to the National Environmental Act and other applicable legislation.
    • Implement and maintain a document management system that addresses all Quality, Food Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental requirements.
    • Ensure that all validation requirements for new processes and equipment are followed as per agreed protocols.
    • Support the implementation of Supply Chain Maturity Test (SCMAT) and ensure that the Quality team is actively involved in the implementation of principles and improvement projects as required.
    • Ensure commercialisation and change management processes are followed to support the seamless execution of the change.

    Continuous Improvement of QFSE Management 

    • Conduct loss and waste analyses and drive continuous improvement programs to ensure appropriate quality process capability.
    • Ensure the implantation of Statistical Process controls and capability to improve product and package quality.
    • Facilitate technical problem-solving regarding quality issues and manage trade and consumer complaints.
    • Ensure that improvement processes are in place to improve water and energy usage as well as waste and recycling.
    • Ensure QFSE problem solving capability for all site teams.
    • Ensure the implementation of the environmental monitoring plan to mitigate and control microbiological risks.

    Manage and Implement Cost Controls to Ensure Adherence to Quality Budget 

    • Ensures the acquisition of laboratory equipment in line with the budget and assumes accountability for the pay cost and management of contracts.
    • Implement and manage the Quality budget to ensure adherence thereto. 
    • Accountable to ensure adherence to budget for all Quality, Food Safety and Environmental external contracts.
    • Ensure that quotations are available in time to update Rolling Estimates (REs) for consumables.
    • Ensure that all laboratory CAPEX requirements are communicated and planned for in the annual budget process according to the standard lab list.

    Lead and Manage an Engaged Quality Team

    • Drive effective talent management practices to ensure an engaged team and sustainable talent pipeline, in accordance with business plan, to deliver on full potential. 
    • Lead and manage the plant Quality team to allow for the achievement of set goals, an engaged team and high-quality work output.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A relevant Bachelor of Science degree.
    • ISO 9000, ISO 14000, FSSC 22000 and HACCP training certificate.
    • A master’s degree in science (BSc) or a Food Sciences Total Quality Management qualification would be an added advantage.
    • A minimum of 5-8 years working experience in Quality role within the food industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

    Knowledge 

    • Knowledge of Quality, Food Safety and Environmental systems (i.e., ISO 9000, ISO 14000, FSSC 22000, HACCP).    
    • Good knowledge of Quality Management and Environmental systems aligned with ISO, KORE principals.
