    Abinitio Data Engineer - 12 Month contract

    Key Responsibilities

    Data Pipeline Development:

    • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Ab Initio.
    • Develop ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.

    Data Integration and Management:

    • Integrate data from multiple sources to create a unified data environment.
    • Ensure data quality and consistency across different systems.

    Performance Optimization:

    • Monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines and ETL processes.
    • Implement best practices for data storage and retrieval.

    Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and requirements.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data integration.

    Troubleshooting and Support:

    • Identify and resolve data-related issues and discrepancies.
    • Provide support for data-related queries and requests.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Certifications Required: Azure - Az900, DP900 and DP 203

    Experience:

    • 5+ years of experience in data engineering and ETL development.
    • Extensive experience with Ab Initio, including developing and maintaining data pipelines.
    • Proficiency in SQL and other database technologies.
    • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Hive.
    • Experience in Azure cloud platform and scripting languages like Python and R.
    • Knowledge of data governance and security practices.

    Skills:

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
    • Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and data integration best practices.

    Technical Data Analyst - 12 Month Contract

    Key responsibilities as follows:

    Data Profiling and Quality Assessment:

    • As a Technical Data Analyst, the main task will be to analyse data from various source systems.
    • This involves diving deep into the data—understanding its structure, patterns, and potential issues.
    • The data profiling will provide insights into the quality, consistency, and completeness of the data.

    Mapping Documentation:

    • A critical aspect of the role is maintaining and updating mapping documentation.
    • Essentially, this means creating a clear bridge between the raw data and how it’s transformed or used downstream.
    • Mapping documents enables understanding how data elements relate to each other, ensuring smooth data integration and accurate reporting.

    Data Delivery Life Cycle:

    • An integral part of the data delivery life cycle.
    • From data extraction to transformation, loading, and finally delivering usable insights.

    Qualification: 

    • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Additional certifications in Data and related would be advantageous.

    Experience:

    • 5 years + experience as a technical analyst
    • Tooling – SQL, Python, R, Azure cloud
    • DB2 Platform experience
    • ESG project exposure or experience is advantageous
    • In office 2-3 times per week

    People Planner

    Key Responsibilities and/or output areas include, but are not limited to: 

    • To have a strong understanding of the daily execution of resource pool supply/demand and scheduling processes, and/or of other processes that connect to Supply/Demand Management & Scheduling in Maconomy. This includes liaison with the Project Finance Teams, BU leads and GTM team members.
    • Responsible for analysing demand requirements, identifying resourcing risks, coordinating with the Business Unit People Schedulers and fulfillment channels.
    • Coordinating responses to client with GTM, including sourcing and QA on CV’s
    • Responsible for all client demand – helping to manage and match open roles, coordinating amongst various BU leaders looking after BU resource pools, prioritising roles, and escalating issues. This includes taking into account IQbusiness employee preferences when this is possible.
    • Develop, maintain and operate in the “matching principles”, into preferences, waiting periods, follow-ups and qualification techniques
    • Providing guidance and executing on the rotation of IQbusiness employees on long duration assignments by facilitating between stakeholders (GTM, BU’s, Clients and IQbusiness employees)
    • Provide the analysis/summary of open/overdue demand to internal stakeholders, highlighting any areas of risk or concern.

    Weekly Demand, Supply and People reporting, to name a few:

    • Bench Levels per category and per BU;
    • Quality of the bench (earmarks, shadowing, await project start)
    • Long bench and ageing per category.
    • Weekly communication to BU leads and Bench team with overdue leave, extra time leave and the coordination and executing of it, especially when people are not on billable assignments.

    Talent Fulfillment

    • Responsible (along with BU Leads) for getting projects/opportunities staffed
    • Make scheduling decisions considering and balancing our scheduling principles and always reflecting our Core Values
    • Represent and/or support individual people in the scheduling process by understanding their needs, preferences, skills, etc. and matching them to roles accordingly
    • Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and leaders in the business and related group companies.

    Education

    • Matric
    • Degree in a related field from an accredited institution

    Experience and Skills

    • Minimum 6 years of experience in execution and management of resource pool supply/demand and scheduling processes, and/or of other processes that connect to supply/demand management & scheduling (If this is in a professional services environment, it will be considered favourable)
    • Must have a good understanding of commercials and how it affects the business
    • Communication skills – delivering the strategies of the business will require you to talk to and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of seniority from around the business
    • Leadership – you will be working with line managers to deliver the function’s strategy. As such, you must be able to lead in the day-to-day operations of the business, and supply/demand processes
    • Strategic thinker – must be able to translate IQbusiness strategy into efficient resource pool supply/demand and scheduling processes
    • Industry knowledge – require extensive knowledge of the trends and changes in the Resource Pool Supply/Demand discipline
    • In-depth knowledge of all best practices pertaining to the discipline
    • Knowledge of systems used for the resource pool supply/demand processes.
