    Assistant Factory Controller

    Position Summary

    • Provide efficient, effective and accurate costing support and advice to meet business (Corporate, Division and factory) objectives, consistent with Nestle policies.

    A day in the life an Assistant Factory Controller:

    Decision Support:

    • Provision of accurate and timely detailed product costings. Variance analysis and reporting (weekly, monthly, yearly). Assist with Preparation of the Standard Cost Budget and Revisions and submit on a timely basis. Co-ordination and Involvement in new product development teams – costings for feasibility studies.
    • Co-ordination and Involvement in new product development teams – costings for feasibility studies. Provision of accurate monthly Actual Cost Calculation with consistent adherence to Period End Close timelines. Ensure that the Nestle Costing Standards Guidelines and Methodologies are observed and applied consistently.
    • Validate and analyze financial and accounting information pertaining to the factory for Management and employees. Preparation of the monthly Raw and Packing materials Working Capital reporting. Involvement with all departments in Continuous Improvements initiatives.
    • Involvement in shop-floor control, daily process order variance meetings with production department Management Teams. Supporting Factory Controller in decision support activities such as, what if analysis, EBA calculations etc. Ad hoc Projects. Monitor and Control factory fixed cost.

    Operational:

    • Ensure audit guidelines and Nestle Accounting policy is observed.
    • Education of shop-floor staff in use of SAP to improve material/labour control.
    • Maintenance of data integrity for SAP.
    • Implement procedure to avoid write offs and ensure that obsolete and redundant materials are identified and written off in accordance with head office directives.
    • Petty Cash disbursement and replenishment.
    • Actively involved in implementing the Companies environment and safety policies.

     What will make you successful?

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Honours Degree in Accounting or appropriate financial qualification.

    • Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry or manufacturing experience.

    • Evolve market media audit capability to track core KPI's for 'delivery, compliance and market advantage'. Consult Nestlé Audit and Procurement to evolve best practice and identify external partners for benchmarking.                                                  
    • Develop media training programmes to ensure Marketing community are fully briefed on Media communication issues and the impact on brand communications, and impact and value of new and evolving data sources.                                                    
    • Lead the partnership with content studio and ad its integration into the partner agency model. Drive change in the ways of working in the organization, ensure and optimize adoption of the mode and monitor performance.                                             
    • Cross functional collaboration with the SLT in CCME to drive and grow talent and build team partnership with the business units.                                                      

    What will make you successful?

    • Degree in Marketing/ Media / Advertising (Honours degree advantageous)
    • 7 years’ experience in Media agency management or equivalent position in FMCG
    • Experience in both planning and buying functions plus full knowledge of emerging Digital landscape

    • Monitor the ESAR Region’s political, social, environmental and cultural landscape to mitigate any potential operational and reputational risks.                            

    Partnerships and Stakeholder Management:

    • Build relationships with local governments, NGO's, policy makers and other key stakeholders to advance the company’s commitments towards Nutrition Health & Wellness (NHW) ESG and sustainability                     

    Government Relations & Advocacy:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with policy makers and industry associations to monitor and influence legislative and regulatory developments that may impact the business.
    • Support the internal teams (Legal, Compliance and Regulatory Affairs) on public policy matters emerging in the Eastern Southern African Region and helping to shape strategic and actionable plans in line with respective governments regulations and policy frameworks through advocacy.
