    Job Description

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    Maintenance

    • Make recommendations on new machinery and equipment for capital expenditure.
    • Establish minimum critical spare stock levels to ensure it is maintained and well managed within departments. Spare parts for different machineries to be utilized within budget.
    • Manage Sunshine engineering team and maintenance projects and ensure on time delivery of projects.
    • Ensure preventative and scheduled maintenance schedules are in place and actioned.
    • Monthly review of job cards.
    • Ensure plant uptime targets are set and met.
    • Measure and report on machine utilisation and costs.
    • Establish a capex replacement/plant upgrade policy metrics.
    • Prepare annual budget prior to start of new financial year.
    • Ensure daily floor walks are conducted and preventative maintenance is identified and incorporated into the planned maintenance schedule.
    • Work with HOD Production to identify improvements to be made on machinery to improve production efficiencies

    Utilities Monitoring

    • Monitor the consumption patterns, activities and or costs 
    • Continuously come up with initiatives to address all the inefficiencies within the utility spectrum.
    • Labour
    • Ensure appropriate staff level and training programmes to meet business requirements.
    • Ensure that labour cost is effectively and efficiently managed, aligned to budget.
    • Review planned labour hours against actual labour hours.
    • Review outsourced labour hours monthly.
    • Make recommendations to achieve savings in labour costs.
    • Ensure that staff are certified and approved on TracTech monthly.
    • Ensure monthly payroll is approved.

    Quality, Health and Food Safety

    • Ensure and maintain audit compliance with Occupational Health and Safety and Safety Audit.
    • Ensure that the plant is audit ready every day.
    • Ensure all machinery equipment IOD ‘s are investigated within 48 hours of the incident and corrective actions taken and implemented within timelines appropriate to the severity.
    • Work with H&S managers to ensure OSH requirements are implemented timeously.

    Legal Compliance

    • Ensure that all legislative and industry standards are achieved, and timeous action is taken where required to ensure that there are no areas of non-compliance within maintenance. 
    • Ensure all electrical equipment and installations are maintained or installed in accordance with statutory requirements and business needs.
    • Implement maintenance occupational health and safety compliance with all relevant legal requirements.
    • Ensure all building and equipment utilization is in accordance with risk, security, safety, health, HACCP and ISO22000, 45000 and 18000 standards.
    • Monitor and verify contractor compliance with the OSHACT and authorize access for complying contractors to site.
    • Ensure that all the statutories are maintained as per the relevant OHSA regulation. Pressure vessels, lifting equipment, machine guarding and that a safe working environment is maintained at all the time.
    • Find opportunities to implement better working practices regarding ISO, environmental, health and safety.

    Cashbook Clerk

        

    • RCL Foods is recruiting for a driven, highly energized and numerically focused Cashbook Clerk within the baking business unit.
    • The suitable candidate will be responsible to provide accounting support and insight for the relevant customer principal/depot. To keep track of the business units financial transactions. Using standardized guidelines, the transactions are recorded, summarized, and presented in a financial report or financial statement.
    • This role will be based in Empangeni and reporting to the Depot Manager.

    Supply Planning Manager

    The primary objective of this position is to:

    • manage the creation and delivery of both the short term and longer-term business supply plans, up to a 24-month horizon, in order to optimise customer service, maximize profit in terms of product mix, minimise cost (processing, distribution and working capital) and facilitate the overall supply chain delivery of innovation.
    • manage the ordering process of packaging and ingredients, as well as the physical management of the packaging and ingredients stores, and associated stock levels (including stock accuracy and obsolescence). Responsibility includes determining when Finished Goods or raw materials need to be procured either locally or imported to supplement inhouse production. This may also mean working with the commodities procurement team in order to secure key materials,
    • manage the loading and despatch of Finished Goods to meet customer delivery requirements (time slots, delivery equipment and snake loading) and ensure all commercial requirements are reconciled with the finance team.

    • Monitor that disciplinary action is taking place timeously and escalate tSales Manager when it isn’t
    • Cash Shortages: On a daily basis, monitoring and dealing with cash shortages by drivers. With the exception of Robbery shortages, ensure shortages are cleared and follow up with route controllers tensure corrective action taken within one week of the shortage arising, including for: BOT, short payment, etc. Input from HR tdetermine what corrective action should be taken.

    Crates and Crates Management:

    Route Compliance Clerk

    Job Description

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Administer and monitor the uploaded system route allocations on a daily basis.
    • Liaise with drivers and customers throughout the day and note all comments and problems on a daily report that is sent to management after shift end.
    • Monitor real time fuel consumption, speeding, braking and other driving and vehicle performance exceptions.
    • Where necessary, track down the driver and send the vehicle back to the depot.
    • Follow up stationary drivers at the back door for more than 15 minutes.
    • Manage GPSTS vehicle units, Garmins and GPST logins daily
    • Report on actual kilometers vs GPS kilometers vs daily averages of previous month
    • Report on any km route deviations on daily info transport and sales file daily
    • Monitoring and reporting on transport logistics issues including speeding, harsh braking, route deviations and route plotting, pre-trip inspections.
