    Senior Relationship Manager - Client and Broker Engagement

    Purpose of the role

    Build and grow relationships with brokers across the Global, International, National and Independent segments as well as with identified key clients to promote awareness of AIG products, appetites and brand selling points.  

    Relationship management to include collaborating with Product Centres to ensure AIG meet or exceed service levels and customer expectations as well as rate, retention and new business metrics.

    Client Engagement

    • Support SSA Client Engagement Lead in strategy setting and identifying key clients for South Africa client engagement targets.
    • Grow and retain identified major clients (including multinationals) including increased premium, capacity or additional lines of business.
    • Retain 95% of identified clients.
    • Promote collaboration within the business with use of Salesforce as the primary CRM tool and manage loss ratio through large account profitability analysis.
    • Strategic alignment of client plans with goals and objectives of each line of business and clearly articulate our value proposition through stewardship meetings and client events. 
    • Drive pipeline reporting through Power BI usage and ensure data accuracy within the Distribution team. 

    Broker Engagement

    • Build and grow portfolios with key brokers that will lead to increased production in our chosen products.
    • Develop, retain and expand business relationship with broker distribution channels in South Africa.
    • Manage relationships to ensure that service levels meet or exceed customer expectations across all products and services.
    • Develop sales plans for targeted distribution channels, leading to increased pipeline, and recommend & promote company products and services, based on distribution channel needs.
    • Support CBE team in on and off boarding of new or underperforming broker partners.
    • Establish and develop a proactive pipeline of business managed via diligent use of Salesforce and ensure a bind ratio in excess of 25% via clearly articulated appetite communications.
    • Manage designated ad-hoc projects.
    • Ensure retention of all Key renewals within designated portfolios in accordance with Profit Centre underwriting strategies.
    • Support our FAC RI Re-Insurance growth plan.
    • Ensure adherence to audit, regulatory and compliance requirements

    Senior Underwriter - Commercial Property

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

    Under general direction, underwrites assigned risks. Generally has greater underwriting authority and handles larger accounts and/or more complex risks than the Underwriter position.

    Technical Underwriting

    • Underwrite business within underwriting authority through a rigorous risk assessment process which includes consideration of loss control, claims history and all other appropriate risk management factors
    • Play an active role in the development and negotiation and sign off of large programs by motivating limits and policy structures where referral is required.
    • Prove technical underwriting guidance to junior underwriters as directed by Profit Centre manager
    • Ensure adherence with all underwriting guidelines and referrals

    Portfolio Management

    • Manage allocated portfolio accounts in profitable and sustainable growth, constantly assessing overall performance of the portfolio and make recommendations for adjustments to the Profit Centre Manager as needed.
    • Provide accurate estimates and reports as required

    Business Development and Retention

    • Keep abreast of market changes and trends
    • Proactively engage with BMC’s to provide technical support for Branch business development initiatives
    • Seek opportunities to improve synergies and participate in cross-sell initiatives with other profit Centres
    • Develop and maintain strong personal and professional relationships with clients and brokers
    • Represent AIG on industry bodies and professional associations and organizations

    Business Operations

    • Adhere to internal SLA’s to ensure operational efficiency and achievement of agreed customer service standards

    Expense control

    • Manage all expenses within budget. Continuously work to reduce the expense ratio through constant attention to efficiencies and opportunities to maximize productivity through streamlining of processes

    Audit and Compliance

    • Ensure adherence to audit requirements
    • Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements
