    Investor Relations Analyst - Stock Surveillance

    • As an Investor Relations Analyst, you will have the opportunity to help drive the growth of a leading Investor Relations surveillance services provider and make an immediate impact on the business and our corporate clients.

    We’re looking for an Analyst, within the Investor Relations division to:

    • Support clients with intelligence about their institutional investors and what is driving trading in equity markets.
    • Provide clients with targeting intelligence on institutional investors in conjunction with their investor relations outreach efforts.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with the investor relations and executive teams of publicly traded companies.
    • Follow public equity markets and update clients about events affecting individual stocks, specific sectors, and the broader economy.
    • Identify leading institutional buyers and sellers of clients’ stocks, and provide insight, color and context around the movements.
    • Connect with buy-side institutional portfolio managers and trading desks to gain insights on investment strategy and trading.

    You have:

    • 0-5 years of financial experience or in a related field
    • “Dual-threat” skills with both strong quantitative and qualitative talent
    • Analytical reasoning ability as well as effective speaking and written communication skills (proficient in the English language)

    Associate Director - Sovereign Analyst

    The Team:

    • We are looking for an experienced professional to join our Sovereign Ratings team in Johannesburg for the position of Associate Director. The role is part of the wider Financial Institutions & Sovereign team covering emerging and frontier markets across the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia. The team is comprised of 20 analysts based out of our Dubai, Johannesburg, London and Frankfurt offices.

    The Impact:

    • The role is critical to the success of our Sovereign ratings franchise in the broader Africa, Middle East and Central Asia region. The successful candidate will assume primary analytical responsibility for a broad portfolio of sovereign and quasi-sovereign ratings, primarily in Africa. As an experienced sovereign analyst, coverage will include complex or analytically challenging credits.

    • Fundamental economic and financial analysis of sovereigns and government-related or multilateral entities across Africa. We encourage analysts to continuously develop their analytical skills and gain exposure across different asset classes in the Ratings organization.

    Responsibilities:

    • As a primary analyst for a portfolio of credits, key accountabilities include timely rating surveillance, publishing high-quality reports, staying abreast of external developments, and managing issuer relationships.
    • Back-up analytical responsibility for several credits and acting as the senior point of contact role for the Sovereign team in Johannesburg.
    • Rating committee voting, in accordance with SOP requirements.
    • Delivery of new rating assignments within timeliness and quality standards.
    • In coordination with the Lead Analyst and Analytical Manager, communication of S&P Global thought leadership research, credit themes via publications, speeches, conference presentations, and media interviews.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Working knowledge of French or Portuguese is a plus.
    • Solid knowledge of economics and sovereign rating methodology. A S&P employee at this level would typically have about 7-8 years of experience in credit or financial analysis, with a focus on Sovereign or macroeconomic analysis.
    • Sound credit judgment, supported by the ability to quickly absorb, analyze, and act upon information as required to maintain and enhance the quality and timeliness of our analysis.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a diverse team setting. Ability to work across teams within S&P Global Ratings, with a desire for continuous improvement and innovation, whilst adhering to established ratings criteria, methodology, policies, and procedures. We operate in a highly regulated environment.
    • The position will require occasional travel, mostly within Africa.

    Distribution Operations Analyst

    Your Role

    • As a member of the Distribution Operations team, you will play a critical role in maintaining, improving, and expanding our Data Delivery service. 
    • You will work cross-functionally across Data Delivery & Product agile teams to facilitate a market leading customer experience through our onboarding process.

    Core responsibilities:

    • Providing technical consultancy for API integration
    • Creating bespoke file configurations
    • Migrating bespoke client configurations from legacy systems to the Data Delivery platform
    • Assist in running the Agile process for prioritization, coordination, and planning
    • Engaging with clients & stakeholders
    • Creating and maintaining documentation and code samples
    • Executing the monthly KPI Reporting and generating the operational metrics
    • Signal, and write specs for application issues and discuss improvements with the Delivery Product & Development team
    • Problem solving & technical troubleshooting
    • Drive process optimization and automation

    About You

    • S&P Global is seeking a Distribution Operations Analyst with programming experience who participates in providing extensive configuration services and support to Delivery customers, working closely together with teams in multiple regions. This hands-on role will require translation of customer requirements into timely and accurate delivery output through files or API integration, for our large customer base.
    • The candidate will be responsible for supporting client integrations through RESTful API, creating and supporting a wide range of file configurations servicing financial datasets, complex business logic, formatting, scheduling/triggering, and publishing. The candidate should be comfortable working in a multisystem environment and be able to configure and test file configurations and API code samples through the QA & UAT environments. Requires knowledge and experience with investigating and troubleshooting software issues and working with Agile/Scrum. The candidate will need to be capable of working with different business groups and stakeholders across multiple locations and possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, proactive and demonstrates a good understanding of IT & development methodologies. The role also requires experience with scripting and data modelling as well as being able to configure operational tooling with predefined variables.
    • The position requires affinity with technology and a working knowledge of XML, SQL, Python, Java, JSON, Mongo JS, SPL, MQL, Snowflake & GCP.

    Key Requirement:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 2-5 years relevant experience, preferably with a FinTech, Information Technology, Finance or Data background
    • Expertise with XML, Python, JSON, SQL, MQL, SPL, Snowflake & GCP
    • Excellent data analysis skills
    • Excellent understanding of software systems and development of enterprise applications
    • Experienced with troubleshooting software issues
    • Expertise with AzureDevOps, Salesforce, Splunk, MS Excel & PowerBI
    • Working experience with Agile/Scrum
    • Expertise in problem solving & analyzing and understanding client needs and translating requirements into solutions. Client interfacing experience is a plus.
    • Highly motivated, disciplined, detail-oriented, takes initiative and works well in a team
    • Strong time management skills and organized with a continuous improvement mindset
    • Clear, structured, and professional in both writing and speech with experience presenting
    • Fluent in English
