    Requirements

    The requirements for this position are:

    • A suitable professional qualification and appropriate educational experience as a class teacher, specialising in Foundation Phase education including both Junior Preparatory and Early Childhood Development

    • Experience, and knowledge in the Reggio Emilia Approach to learning and teaching

    Executive Assistant to the Head

    Requirements

    The requirements for this position are:

    • Secretarial Certificate / Diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum 5 -7 years working experience, with at least 3 years in a similar position working with an executive leader 
    • Experience in working in an educational institution would be a distinct advantage
    • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excell, PowerPoint, and Word)
    • Minute taking and meeting scheduling experience is essential
    • Excellent command of English (verbal and written communication) is essential
    • Exceptional planning and organisational skills, with attention to detail
    • Excellent one-on-one problem solving and collaboration skills
    • High levels of integrity and confidentiality together with emotional maturity and a professional work ethic

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

    • The administration and daily functioning of the office of the Head, and responding to correspondence on behalf of the Head
    • Diary management and co-ordination including meetings and appointments
    • Filling Management (Head’s Office, Department Filling - Electronic and Hard Copy)
    • Handling and screening of telephone calls, emails, and face-to-face queries from parents, staff, and the public
    • Fleet Administration (Licensing of College Vehicles, Fuel Account Management, Vehicles Records and Processing of Payments)
    • Handling a wide range of information, some of which requires a dedicated level of confidentiality
    • Head’s office administration – Credit Card Purchases and Monthly Reconciliation, Travel Arrangements and Internal Meetings Co-ordination,
    • Administration and Processing of Insurance Claims and Fines
    • Drafting of reports, communique, and correspondence on behalf of the Head
    • Secretary of the Planning and Development Committee (Committee Administration, Minutes, Bookings and Coordination)
    • PV Plant Administrator (Record keeping, Monthly Reconciliation, and PPA Support)
    • Interacting with parents, staff, alumni, and the broader Saints community ensuring high levels of diplomacy, tact, and respect in all interactions

    BC - Senior English Teacher

    The requirements for this position are: 

    • A proven academic record and appropriate experience, including Grade 8 – 12 English teaching
    • A suitable professional qualification and a minimum 5 years appropriate educational experience
    • Experience in developing learning and teaching material and assessment practices according to IEB requirements and the needs of the learners, at both GET and FET levels
    • Academic experience in an IEB Matric marking would be an advantage

    JP - Digital Learning Coach

    Requirements

    • The Junior Preparatory invites applications for the abovementioned position which will be available from 1 January 2025.
    • Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills and competencies to take on this position.

    Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Spearheading and leading the Mobile E-learning and Teaching (MeLT) initiative within the Junior Prep
    • Enhancing teacher development and support the learning and teaching systems by engaging with teachers in the effective use and integration of ICT for learning and teaching
    • Providing technical support for software related issues for intranet and other ICT systems used within the school, including latest iOS, Windows, MS Platforms, and Android platforms
    • Liaising with the school media centre – ensuring the media centre becomes the hub of inquiry-based learning within the school
    • Liaising with the Campus IT Department – managing the rollout of equipment to staff and supporting the school vision
    • Exploring and creating innovative models of ICT-integrated instruction and ICT-supported management
    • Continuing the development of a robust Coding and Robotics curriculum
    • Administrate current Online educational programs and app deployment for the Junior Prep
    • Manage, facilitate and run parent and student workshops on online safety, Digital Citizenship and any other IT related programmes
    • Providing updates to the Head and Deputy Heads of the Junior Prep and to the Campus Head of IT fortnightly to report on progress, identify obstacles and assist in helping to ensure success of engagement with staff
    • Assist staff with the integration of AI in education

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • A suitable professional qualification and appropriate educational experience together with a sound and progressive understanding of the South African curriculum and international trends in education
    • Proof of being a recognised leader in the Educational Technology field
    • A high degree of technical expertise in current ICT related operating systems i.e. Windows, iOS, Android
    • Extensive knowledge and experience with Learning Management Systems
    • A passion for combining education and technology and accelerating the use of technology to enhance learning and teaching application in an innovative and creative way
