    Senior Legal Counsel

    Minimum Requirements

    • Degree in Law: LLB, Bproc or BUirus Degree
    • Intermediate computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
    • Contract management systems

    Job Related Requirements

    • 5 Post Qaulification years relevant experience in a senior position
    • Wholistic knowledge of law, including Contract, Corporate, Civil, Interpretation of statutes
    • Admission as an Attorney
    • Experience in Drafting, Reviewing, and Negotiating Commercial Agreements and Contracts, locally and internationally
    • Technical knowledge of legal structures and agreements within logistics industry
    • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to understand complex legal concepts
    • Knowledge and Experience of Privacy Laws and Regulations with the ability to provide training to key stakeholders
    • Proven history of representation and interaction with External Legal Counsel in collections and other matters

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Draft/vet and review a variety of corporate legal contracts.
    • Keeping abreast of new/changed legislation and informing the business to ensure understanding of risks and commercial implications.
    • Protecting the company’s interest, risk management and compliance with corporate governance, guidelines and procedures.
    • Negotiation on behalf of the business in order to attain value.
    • Negotiation with third parties to ensure appropriate contractual relationships and minimise risks.
    • Identify matters requiring specialist legal input and instruct and liaise with appropriate external counsel.
    • Liaise with external attorneys and prepare comprehensive brief to attorneys where necessary.
    • Co-ordinating litigation matters with external attorneys and counsel, and interpreting recommendations for the business.
    • Drafting legal opinions.
    • Conduct legal research of significant legal issues.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Engineered Solutions: Identify, analyse & develop value-adding solutions for current & prospective clients;
    • Analysis and recommendations
    • Data (analysis, comparison, sense checking, cleaning)

    Logistics Engineer, DSV Sigma

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Support business in the scoping, designing, costing, implementing and maintaining small Warehouses across SSA.
    • Evaluate and analyse data, processes and material flow related to existing operations in order to identify improvement opportunities.
    • Implement initiatives and monitor quantitative benefits of changes.
    • Develop business cases for financial investments where required, including ROI calculations, quantified value, productivity improvements, etc.
    • Documenting, monitoring, and communicating project timelines, milestones and objectives.
    • Follow disciplined change management process to ensure that implemented changes that are sustainable.
    • Problem solving facilitation and training where required.
    • Working closely with Project & Implementation, Solutions & Pricing & Applications Engineering teams to ensure standardization of best practices in DSV.
