    Consumer and Digital Engagement Manager

    Job description

    Applications are invited for the above mentioned position in the SA Marketing division based at Stellenbosch. This person will report to the Manager: Marketing Operations and Planning.

    Purpose Statement of Position

    To support the marketing team in delivering a step change in Distell SA consumer and digital engagement capability across brands and channels.

    Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

    • Strategic & Financial Results
      • Deliver a consumer engagement plan that leverages consumer relevant direct and digital touch points to maximise brand awareness and brand loyalty
      • Drive digital and consumer best practice, research and networking across brand teams to actively improve brand strategies, tool kits and integrated activity planning and execution relevant for the digital age.
      • Provides specialist advice and knowledge to colleagues, partners and other individuals to support the achievement of business objectives and all SA digital marketing Projects

      • Collaborate with Brand and Channel teams to build world class integrated consumer engagement and share best practice
      • Deliver insights to all TTL elements and interrogate strategies and activity plans to align to digital age

    The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following Experience/skills

    • Relevant 3 year qualification
    • Minimum 8 years’ experience in digital and consumer engagement

    Trade Marketing Manager SA

    Job description

    Applications are invited for the above mentioned position in the Trade Development, Marketing SA division based at Stellenbosch. This person will report to the National Trade Development Manager.

    Purpose Statement of the Position

    To develop and drive important strategic and operational projects within the national trade marketing department, influencing Distell's go -to - market strategy and market performance. These projects should enable a forward looking view of the business.

    Key Performance Areas Will Include

    • Research and Develop strategic projects and pieces of work influencing the Distell go to market strategy or market performance
    • Develop a future view of the trade, locking down the implications and way forward for Distell
    • Research and compile best practice and competitor benchmarking for trade marketing, advising and scoping new programs to remain world class
    • Develop a shopper marketing framework and best practice for Distell
    • Develop a dark marketing trade strategy for Distell
    • Develop and on -line channel strategy for Distell trade departments
    • Operational delivery of projects in the Distell Business, and support of the trade marketing department
    • Delivery and embedding on 5 strategic projects: Future view, benchmarking, shopper marketing, dark marketing, on line
    • Develops internal and external relationships and networks with organisational focus to resolve both short term issues and resolve longer term projects/work
    • Using insight and industry knowledge, drive improvement and innovation within trade marketing and sales environment give SA a competitive advantage
    • Support of the Trade Marketing Team on any operational requests

    The Successful Candidate Must Preferably Have The Following Experience/skills

    • Tertiary commerce qualification: B Com / Marketing Degree or equivalent.
    • Preferably Sales and Marketing orientated with 8 years FMCG experience/retail liquor environment, of which at least 3 years should be at management level including Key Accounts in FMCG/Liquor Industry. Marketing management will be very beneficial.
    • A good working knowledge of the trade
    • Strong capability in sales, key accounts, channel and brand marketing -good operational, commercial and planning skills
    • Must be creative, innovative, out of the box thinker and self-motivated
    • Experience in the field of category management and demand planning
    • High level of computer literacy in Microsoft office suite and SAP Business Warehouse (BW). (Knowledge of software and systems. Excel, Word, Qlikview)
    • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence on all levels
    • Good presentation skills and ability to present at board level (PowerPoint)
    • Highly analytical with good problem solving abilities
    • Strong commercial sense and business acumen
    • Proven ability to lead a high performance team
    • Understand principles of shopper marketing, consumer and customer insights and marketing concepts
    • Decision making and project management skills

    Blending / Maturation Controller

    Job description

    Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position based in the Spirits Production department Worcester. The successful candidate will report to the Production Manager.

    Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

    • Coordinate and manage the filling and emptying of brandy barrels to/from maturation
    • Coordinating the monthly Barrel Stock Take process
    • Manage the transfer and taking up of matured and blended spirit products
    • Brandy blending against specification demand plan

    • Planning of daily tasks and activities to achieve departmental targets
    • Ensure daily tasks are done to correct company procedures and work instructions

    • Effective Recordkeeping and compliance with ISO 9001 & 14001 standards

    The successful candidate must have the following qualification, skills and experience:

    Safety Officer

    Job description

    Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position in the Health, Safety & Environmental Department, based at Adam Tas in Stellenbosch. The successful incumbent will report to the HSE Manager.

    Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

    Implementation and maintenance of Risk Management, which entails:

    • gaining thorough knowledge of all elements pertaining to the Risk Management Program System to ensure compliance with relevant legislation;
    • conducting hazard identification, risk assessments and audits;
    • liaising with all departmental heads on Health & Safety related matters.
    • Co-ordinating all Health & Safety related training in order to adhere to relevant legislation (e.g. OHS Act, etc)
    • Ensuring the optimal functioning of the Health & Safety Committee
    • Regular and informative communication with all staff to create awareness and ensure compliance to Health & Safety rules and regulations
    • Recording accidents, incidents and losses whilst ensuring that the required reporting, investigations and corrective actions are taken by relevant parties
    • Performing detailed recordkeeping to ensure traceability and legal compliance with regard to Safety Standards
    • Exercise due control over all contractors on site including induction and the maintenance of contractor files and a system for contractor access and inspections whilst on site
    • Drafting, maintaining and updating relevant policies and procedures as required
    • Performing standby duties and conducting site visits which include emergency call outs as agreed upon
    • Active participation in world class workplace practices. Take full responsibility for and drive safety related targets
    • Provide advice and support with regards departmental Hazard identification and assessment systems and the implementation of safe work procedures where applicable
    • Operate a system where safety related elements are audited and assessed over a reoccurring twelve month period

    The successful candidate must have the following qualification, skills and experience:

    • A relevant tertiary qualification in Health, Safety & Risk
    • A relevant SAMTRAC qualification
    • Minimum 2 - 3 years relevant working experience in a similar capacity within a Health & Safety and/or Security & Risk environment
    • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. OHS Act, etc)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to ensure effective interaction with individuals on all levels
    • Computer literate in the Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)
    • Proven ability to plan, organize, co-ordinate, facilitate and evaluate initiatives
    • Ability to work independently and under pressure
    • Must be pro-active and assertive to ensure compliance to rules and regulations
    • An unendorsed and valid driving licence (Code B)
    • Own or reliable transport to and from work
    • Ability to cope with the inherent physical demands of the position
    • Willingness and ability to perform standby duties and conduct site and emergency visits after hours
    • Ability to co-ordinate meetings effectively at all levels of the organisation
    • Must be a motivator and positive thinker and solution oriented when faced with challenges
