    Consumer and Digital Engagement Manager

    Job description

    Applications are invited for the above mentioned position in the SA Marketing division based at Stellenbosch. This person will report to the Manager: Marketing Operations and Planning.

    Purpose Statement of Position

    To support the marketing team in delivering a step change in Distell SA consumer and digital engagement capability across brands and channels.

    Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

    • Strategic & Financial Results
      • Deliver a consumer engagement plan that leverages consumer relevant direct and digital touch points to maximise brand awareness and brand loyalty
      • Drive digital and consumer best practice, research and networking across brand teams to actively improve brand strategies, tool kits and integrated activity planning and execution relevant for the digital age.
      • Provides specialist advice and knowledge to colleagues, partners and other individuals to support the achievement of business objectives and all SA digital marketing Projects
    • Operational Results
      • Collaborate with Brand and Channel teams to build world class integrated consumer engagement and share best practice
      • Deliver insights to all TTL elements and interrogate strategies and activity plans to align to digital age
      • Actively coaches and supports all Brand Owners in the development of Brand Strategies, Toolkits, Integrated Brand and Channel planning and integrated activity planning and execution
    • Customer & Relationship Results
      • Develops internal and external relationships and networks with organisational focus to resolve both short term issues and resolve longer term projects/work
      • Communicates persuasively and confidently to influence and negotiate positive outcomes
      • Quality and relevant communication, behaviour and actions resulted in a high level of credibility, trust and respect throughout the business unit
    • Leadership Results
      • Lead and pro-actively coach teams on digital and consumer engagement practices
      • Train marketing staff on digital media touch points and related engagement disciplines to brand teams
      • Drive you own development to ensure specialist knowledge/skills remain world class
      • Conduct gap analysis and attend coaching and up-skilling activities with marketing teams
      • Innovation & Improvement Results
      • Continuously improve digital best practice to ensure it drives improved consumer, customer and shopper experiences
      • Benchmark digital and consumer best practice processes, networking and research to keep up to date with digital best practice and to drive continuous business improvement

    The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following Experience/skills

    • Relevant 3 year qualification
    • Minimum 8 years’ experience in digital and consumer engagement

    • Commercial Fluency - Balance short and long term business value generation through the regular application of commercial principles across the whole value chain and take ownership around course corrective rigour

    • Portfolio Strategy - Effective and efficient management of the brand portfolio through making tough choices that prioritises resource, increases focus and aligns business strategies to maximize business value
    • Insightfulness - Balancing multiple internal and external sources of information with intuition in order to generate integrated insights that enable the development of compelling narratives that drives business value generation
    • Brand Crafting - Drive inspirational brand strategies and toolkits aligned to portfolio role that enables excellence in execution and business-wide brand custodianship
    • Championing Channels - Drive channel strategies based on channel segmentation and integrated performance management in order to enable excellence in execution of portfolio strategy
    • Integrated Brand & Channel Planning - Integrates Brand and Channel Strategies into granular plans that deliver against agreed short and long term business objectives
    • Integrated Activity Planning & Execution - The ability to deliver against brand objectives by developing integrated activity plans that brings the brands creative platform to life consistently across multiple touch-points within the consumers decision journey
