    1690 Director: Academic Enterprise and Services (P5)

    Main purpose of the job

    • To develop and ensure the successful implementation of academic strategy and the enhancement of student learning/teaching experience and outcomes at Welkom Campus. To lead, manage, and develop new niche programmes and research initiatives, coordinate internal and external partnership-based collaborations and internal alignment on the Welkom Campus academic project.

    Main tasks

    • Academic leadership and management
    • Partnerships strategy and revenue generation.
    • Stakeholder management
    • Finance and people management.

     Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience      

    • A Doctorate Degree.
    • Five (5) years’ experience in academic leadership and management at the departmental or divisional level in a higher education institution.
    • Experience in identifying, developing, and managing collaborative academic partnerships institutionally, regionally, and internationally.
    • Experience in setting up learning innovation platforms like Makerspaces.
    • Ability to develop new ways of working to solve complex problems and effect organisational change at the divisional level.
    • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork ability both organisationally and externally.
    • Understanding the policy, regulatory and development agenda in the higher education sector in South Africa.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, students, staff, and potential partners.
    • Understanding and operating confidently in diverse organisational settings and sensitively across various cultures.
    • Understanding how this role enhances the Welkom Campus' widening participation, equal opportunities and inclusion agendas, and a commitment to translate this into action.
    • Excellent human relations and people management skills.

    Desired Qualification, Knowledge and/or Experience         

    • NRF-rated researcher.
    • At least 10 years' experience in academic leadership and management at departmental or divisional level in a higher education institution.
    • An individual who demonstrates emotional intelligence, is flexible and change oriented.
    • An individual with an elevated level of personal motivation, energy, and Enthusiasm.
    • An individual who is resilient and able to work effectively under internal and external pressure.

    Main purpose of the job

    • To provide leadership and management in the unit to achieve its intended outcomes, as well as deliver efficient and effective services in the areas of human resources management and development, administration, security, property, and facilities; as well as planning and performance management.

    Main tasks

    • Strategy, leadership, and operations management.
    • Management and oversight of human resources.
    • Management of administration, security, plant, and facilities.
    • Finance and people management.

     Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience      

    • A tertiary degree in business management or related field.
    • Ten (10) years' experience in finance and operations services of which 5 years is as a manager.
    • Experience in human resources management and using HR systems/tools.
    • Experience of managing facilities, security, and services for a medium-sized organisation.
    • Experience in systems implementation, monitoring and risk management.
    • Experience in organisational performance management systems in a public sector environment.
    • Understanding the policy, regulatory and development agenda in the higher education sector in South Africa.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, students, and staff.
    • Understanding and operating confidently in diverse organisational settings and sensitively across various cultures.

    1952 Lecturer / Senior Lecturer: Clinical Sciences

    Main purpose of the job

    • To develop academic material and lecture in allocated subjects for own and other programmes and to execute appropriate community projects

    Subject fields(s)

    • Radiographic Practice, Imaging Technology, Radiographic Pathology, Radiographic Procedures (Work-integrated Learning), Research Principles, Applied Anatomy and Physiology, Post-Graduate supervision

    Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience

    To be appointed as Lecturer:

    • A relevant Master’s-level degree (i.e. M Tech / Masters / NQF 9 or equivalent) in Diagnostic Radiography, Radiation Therapy or Ultrasound.
    • At least two years’ teaching/lecturing/industry experience relevant to the subject field(s)

    To be appointed as Senior Lecturer:

    • A relevant Doctorate level degree (i.e. D Tech / PhD/ NQF 10 or equivalent) in Diagnostic Radiography, Radiation Therapy or Ultrasound.
    • At least four years’ teaching / lecturing experience in the relevant subject field
    • Evidence of research output, post-graduate supervision and presentations at national and international conference in with CUT’s promotion requirements, which require:
    • 5 credit outputs (books, chapters in books, articles in accredited journals, papers published in peer-reviewed conference proceedings, patents, etc.)
    • Two completed master’s degrees as co-supervisor; or one completed master’s degree as supervisor. (Not applicable if the applicant already has a minimum of 2.0 publication, research or innovation credit outputs at Lecturer level)
    • Four cumulative presentations/papers at conferences, of which at one should be an international presentation/paper (international conferences held in South Africa are also regarded as international conferences)
    • Involvement in at least one community project (related to the teaching and learning and the research and innovation curriculum).

    Desired Qualification, Knowledge and/or Experience          

    To be appointed as Lecturer:

    • Evidence of progress towards a Doctorate degree.
    • Any acknowledged publication, research, innovation or creative output.
