    Project Manager

    Position Overview

    The Aurum Institute is a proudly African organization whose mission is to generate evidence for policy and translate policy into practice to positively impact the health of communities globally.

    Aurum seeks a diplomatic, entrepreneurial individual with outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities to support the business market dynamics and introduce innovative lifesaving products in low-middle-income countries for funded projects. Reporting to the Programme Director, this role will ensure that new and essential health products are successfully introduced and integrated into healthcare systems, particularly in LMICs. The Project Manager will conduct market viability assessments and manage global and regional investor relationships to support the introduction of innovative products into local markets, bridging the gaps between local market product developers and regulatory bodies. 

    The Project Manager will function independently, balance multiple priorities simultaneously, and work effectively across various stakeholders and a geographically disbursed team across numerous time zones.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the execution of in-depth multi-country market analyses and payer assessments for a range of HIV prevention and contraceptive products, including multipurpose prevention technologies, diagnostics, and treatment products in target countries; generate comprehensive payer profiles that will be used to inform product development and investors.
    • Map regulatory and commercialization requirements for new products across multi-country contexts, ensuring regular updates of the product commercialization roadmap by analyzing market intelligence and regulatory changes, focusing on payer preferences and needs.
    • Engage in investor mapping and advocacy to develop investment cases to generate funding for HIV and contraceptive product pipeline.
    • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies, ensuring effective strategic planning communication between procurers’ local markets and product developers.
    • Work with policymakers and advocates to influence health policy in favor of our products. This may involve presenting evidence to support policy changes, participating in policy discussions, and advocating for favorable regulatory environments.
    • Conduct periodic stakeholder needs assessments and develop annual work plans, ensuring alignment with market needs and stakeholder priorities.
    • Prepare regular reports on market trends, commercialization progress, stakeholder feedback, and other relevant metrics. Document lessons learned and best practices for future reference
    • Support analyses that reinforce the business case for the affordability and availability of products in Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs), including regional partnerships, demand forecasts, uptake scenarios, market access strategies, and cost reduction.
    • Monitor global and local market trends for supported products and develop a dashboard to track global procurement volumes and regulatory changes for strategic insights and impact assessments.
    • Collaborate with countries and the market access team lead for effective coordination in quantification, supply chain, and product monitoring, optimizing resource alignment.
    • Support the introduction of new Advanced HIV Disease commodities in countries, optimizing integration within healthcare systems.
    • Build relationships with global donors across Aurum’s portfolio and identify and leverage partnership opportunities.
    • Perform other tasks as required by the Program Director.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Public Health, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
    • Minimum of [7] years of experience in market analysis or a similar role, preferably in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry- multi-country experience and understanding of local contexts is desired.
    • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and strategic planning. A strong understanding of local markets is desirable.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.

    Data Capturer I -Brits

    Work Description

    • Assists with the accurate data processing of paper records into an electronic format that facilitates data review and analysis. Do daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports and adhere to reporting timelines.

    Technical Work Responsibilities

    • Review paper forms are completeness, accuracy and consistency before capturing into a database
    • Capturing the data accurately from paper forms into Tier.net, HPRS, WEBDHIS database according to Aurum specific guidelines
    • Data Triangulation from paper forms with data already captured on the electronic database (TIER.NET, WEBDHIS, HPRS)
    • Supports the data management team in all data management functions
    • Adheres to all data management SOP’s, guidelines and confidentiality agreements
    • Completes daily time sheets

    Requirements

    Education

    • Grade 12

    Advantageous

    • GCP training
    • Tier.Net/WebDHIS/HPRS Certificate
    • Certificate/Diploma in Computer

    Experience

    • One-year experience in data capturing Requirements
    • Data analysis and able to interpret data on a presentation
    • Advanced Microsoft office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Must be willing to work overtime and be able to roove between facilities
    • Ability to adhere to strict Data Management reporting deadlines
