    New Business Development Manager - Primary Transport - Durban

    • The New Business Development Manager will be entrusted with developing, implementing and supporting the Vector primary distribution growth strategy; Act as a frontline interface to current and future primary transport customers and suppliers; Identifying further growth opportunities within the primary transport sector both to potential manufacturers of goods as well as the retail industry; Providing support to and implementation of the Empty trips strategy; Leading a team of primary transport controllers, expeditors and agents aligned to Vector Logistics leadership standards; and To fully benchmark industry trends and technological advancements.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • B Com Logistics or Supply Chain Degree preferably with a postgraduate qualification.
    • Valid Code EB drivers'
    • 5 - 10 years of experience in transport logistics preferably in an FMCG environment.
    • Experience in Customer relationship management.
    • Proven track record of innovation (idea to execution).
    • Ideally a strong understanding of primary transport.
    • Strong knowledge of logistics systems and technologies.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the primary transport growth ambitions through a combination of retaining and growing existing client base, introducing new cold chain customers, and creating opportunities to enter new markets. Lead, develop and grow a strong team through the daily application of sound Vector leadership principles. Deliver income statement profitability and show strong commercial understanding and acumen.

    Relationship Management

    • Be the face of the primary transport business, strong relationships both with transporters as well as customers.
    • Conduct regular client reviews.
    • Manage relationships with internal Vector customers.
    • Manage complaints as and when they arise.
    • Conduct and conclude all investigations arising from transport queries or disputes, temperature issues, delay charges.
    • Escalate to Transport excellence exec, if necessary.
    • Management of RFP/RFQ processes, rate negotiations, contract amendments and all relevant business processes involving vector primary transport.
    • Coach and develop primary transport team on relationship management.

    Key Account Management

    • Support vector wide integrated key account management engagements.
    • Develop and deliver value adding business intelligence as and when required.
    • Commit to collaborative processes to ensure continuous improvement and mutual benefit.
    • Attend principal relationship briefs as and when required.
    • Ensure strong social systems and communication platforms are in place.
    • Ensure monthly billing accuracy.

    Administration

    • Ensure all admin processes are completed as required, documents received back as per standard and concluded within specified time limits.
    • Support admin team with queries arising against either transporters or customers.
    • Manage any disputes arising and their associated admin.

    Business Development / Improvements

    • Expand client participation in the Vector service and product offering.
    • Drive business growth by encouraging principals and customers to direct volume into Vector.
    • Optimize network by utilizing scale to offer differentiated service to vector customers.
    • Collaborate closely with internal Vector teams to improve both upstream and downstream reliability, assist with improved inbound service levels, improve stock availability and on-site congestion.
    • Constantly assess and review changes in market, trends, and technologies to always ensure benchmark status.
    • Utilize all available Vector resources to ensure the optimal solution is provided for the long-term benefit of our customers.

    Communication (within Vector and its partners)

    • Handle communication in relation to stock and associated issues.
    • Communicate requests from customers effectively.
    • Manage the cross-dock function within Vector, ensure reliability of the secondary network dependent on these movements.
    • Ensure strong communications channels 24 hours per day, ensure correct tools available.

    Charge Maintenance

    • Sign off monthly rate escalations based on fuel price adjustments.
    • Annual/periodic review of fixed cost escalations based on relevant economic indices such as CPI, PPI etc.,
    • Strong alignment between rate and margin, thorough understanding of tradeoffs between markup % and Rand values.
    • Understanding of impact of lane rates on budget process.
    • Strong budgeting understanding.

    Reporting

    • Compile review packs for al customer engagements.
    • Print and compile reports and any ad hoc requests as requested.
    • Report on compliance of both Vector and suppliers on variables as set out in the various service level agreements.
    • Provide reports on both Vector and Supplier infractions to relevant Vector Functions and Stakeholders.
    • Continuously improve the BI capabilities in conjunctions with business analyst and national BI team.
    • Have ability to conceptualize and develop reports in Power BI.

    Team Coordination and Self-Management

    • Take ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrate effective self-management in terms of planning, prioritizing and self-development.
    • Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained.
    • Inform relevant parties in the event of tasks or deadlines not met, the potential risks thereof and provide appropriate resolution. 
    • Support and drive the business core values.
    • Manage colleagues and clients’ expectations and communicate appropriately.

    Diesel Mechanic - Bushbuckridge

    • RCL FOODS is looking for an incumbent who will be responsible for maintaining diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keeping records.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
    • Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
    • Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.

    Assistant Account Manager - Durban

    • RCL FOODS is looking for a decisive, efficient and innovative individual with an FMCG background in Account Management support.
