    Senior Specialist - Charging Systems Technology Information

    JOB DESCRIPTION
    Strategic Input

    • Contribute with business & product owners re the strategic direction of charging technologies in line with overall business objectives
    • Participate in the creation of design specification documentation to detail the business requirements
    • Participate in the creation of Feature Requirement Specifications for handover to development parties or vendors
    • Ensure all short & long term requirements are aligned to the overall business objectives
    • Design a real-time charging framework to support both consumer and enterprise business strategy, minimizing rework
    • Provide business with knowledge of and insights into the capabilities of the real-time rating environment 

    Operational Support & Implementation Delivery 

    • Work with Service Operations and their Managed Services partners to design the support procedures for new products and services
    • Collaborate with the rest of planning to create and vet Acceptance Test Plans of all upgrades and new systems & applications in Charging Solutions
    • Work with and direct vendors in supporting and implement changes in the systems
    • Draw up RFx documents for new services and new hardware installation
    • Assist with the technical lead of all projects assigned by manager
    • Ensure all area day-to-day tasks are being completed to the required level
    • Ensure the maintaining of all SLA’s
    • Document all areas of responsibility
    • Keep manager informed of progress of any projects on going and problems that may arise
    • Find ways to more efficiently utilize the existing network
    • Must be able to cross bridges between various operating systems, technologies & applications
    • Provide on-the-job training, guidance and mentoring to new and replacement personnel
    • Assist with the establishment and development of charging solutions in other MTN opco’s, as requested by MTN Group 

    Commercialization 

    • Support management in determining the investment strategy for MTN & IT Delivery Products
    • Support management in determining the technology strategy for MTN & IT Delivery
    • Negotiation assistance with suppliers for the most cost-effective deliverables & services
    • Contract management i.e. SLA management for services
    • Provide inputs to various vendor RFP’s for MTN & IT Delivery requirements 

    Project Delivery

    • Develop and drive the execution of agreed projects
    • Drive the implementation, tracking, monitoring and compliance of projects
    • Contract management in line with Procurement Policies
    • Co-ordinate project reporting
    • Ensure effective implementation of the integrated project management model
    • Risk management 

    Business Analysis

    • Perform Business Analysis in line with the methodology and guidelines
    • Identify ways to fine tune policies, processes and systems in line with changing work practices
    • Determine, document, and review requirements for projects within the scope of the value stream or impacting processes and systems
    • Design, analyse and document workflow and make appropriate recommendations that will positively impact operational effectiveness
    • Identify business improvement and optimisation opportunities that will result in improvement of process performance
    • Ensure that benchmarking is conducted with other companies and organizations within and outside the industry
    • Construct business cases for initiations proposed by the business
    • Research and consider best practice, local conditions, trends, as well as competitor activity
    • Identify and implement innovative ways to use minimum resources to achieve maximum outputs 

    Vendor Management

    • Responsible for the monitoring and measurement of vendor SLA deliverables
    • Attendance of quarterly performance reviews with vendors
    • Coordinate vendor invoicing requirements
    • Responsible for Vendor Escalations in line with SLA expectations 

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Education (Essential):

    • Minimum 3 year Degree or Diploma in electrical engineering light-current / electronics / communication engineering / information technology Fluent in English 

    Experience: 

    • At least 5 years’ experience in a 2G/3G/4G/5G GSM/Telecom’s environment & Computer Systems, with experience in supervising/managing others
    • High level Experience in Solaris/Linux & IP networking
    • High Level Experience working on VAS & Charging type platforms, Services & Applications (e.g. Charging Systems, IM, SMS, SDP, VTU, Postillion, TSP, IBS, WIG, WAP, LBS, PTT, EMM & MMS)
    • Experience on Portal Environment & Content Management Systems 
    • Scripting Skills
    • Experience working in a medium to large organization
    • TOGAF certification
    • ITIL certification

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • The General Manger Operations will be responsible for:
    •  Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Chenosis platform.
    •  Contribute to the development and execution of the overall business strategy for Chenosis and support CEO in Company Transformation Initiatives
    •  Align operations strategies with the broader goals and objectives of the organization
    •  Engage Key MTN Functions to Expedite Chenosis Outcomes
    •  Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including business partners, Opcos, Finance, GSSC, HR, Technology
    •  Manage Chenosis Functions to ensure Efficient Delivery of Business Plan, Finance, HR, TechOps, Sales, Product platform.
    •  Lead and supervise a team of professionals responsible for various aspects of operations. I.e. Finance, HR, Ops, Legal, TechOps platform.
    •  Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and effectiveness of Chenosis operations.
    •  Regularly review and analyze performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
    •  Identify and manage risks associated with operations, implementing mitigation strategies as needed as well as drive Process Evolution to Balance Agile & Risk
    •  Collaborate on Process Evolution to Accelerate Chenosis
    •  Oversee customer support activities, ensuring timely and effective resolution of user issues.
