    Commercial Account Manager

    What is a Customer Account Manager (CAM)?

    • At Advance Auto Parts, a Customer Account Manager (CAM) sells or oversees the selling of automotive products for repair or distribution to automotive repair shops and other commercial businesses. The CAM must be committed to inspiring our team, helping our customers succeed, and growing the business and profitability with integrity.

    Key Duties And Responsibilities

    • Work with District Leaders, General Managers and other key personnel to achieve all agreed upon goals for assigned accounts
    • Implement new Commercial Sales programs, as well as support current programs
    • Visit assigned accounts, making sales calls and developing approaches that best position products, services, or ideas; identify and meet the needs of commercial customers. Maintain database of account sales call activity, etc.
    • Proactively communicate with Store Team on a regular basis to ensure that customer expectations concerning product availability, accuracy, and delivery timelines are realistic and being met
    • Provide feedback and input to business partners regarding competitive information, merchandising suggestions, and other services to strengthen the market position of the company
    • Partner in the development and retention of Commercial Parts Pros to support the Advance plan for internal growth and career opportunities
    • Demonstrate an eagerness to be a team player and assist in other functions as assigned by Region and Area leaders and as needed, including, but not limited to: cleaning, organizing, stocking, operating POS equipment, truck loading/unloading, etc.

    Essential Job Skills Necessary For Success As a CAM

    • Working knowledge of Advance products and services and the ability to market those products and services to meet customer need
    • Working knowledge of the APAL system, including Inventory Management and processing of Commercial account paperwork
    • Working knowledge of automotive systems and traditional automotive aftermarket
    • Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and upper management
    • Strong presentation and verbal and written communications skills, including ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals
    • Use Microsoft software effectively (Word, Excel required – PowerPoint preferred)
    • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, sales increases, and gross profit percent
    • Ability to review and analyze business reports, such as profit and loss statement (P&L)
    • Think strategically, analyze issues and options, and effectively manage and facilitate change
    • Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed
    • Ability to travel overnight occasionally

    Prior Experiences That Set a CAM Up For Success

    • Proven sales track record with 3-5 years related selling experience.

    Logistics Specialist

    SUMMARY

    • Transportation Logistics Specialist are responsible for building and routing daily Truckload and Less than Truckload (LTL) moves throughout the Supply Chain. On a daily basis, they work cross-functionally with various people and departments within the company – Inventory, Distribution Centers, and Merchandising – as well as our customers and specific, approved carrier network to ensure corporate goals for corporate efficiency and customer satisfaction are being met and exceeded.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    **To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. their duties may be assigned

    • Efficiently plans and executes the deploying and routing of product throughout the Supply Chain, including inbound to DC from Vendor. Plan and route shipments to destination to the planned due date based on orders dropped into the Transportation Management System(TMS).  Utilize the data in the TMS system to choose the service level needed at the optimum cost for Advance Auto Parts.
    • Responsible for approximately $25MM+ in annual freight spend.  Prepare reports and explain financial performance related to managed freight.
    • Perform “what if” routing analysis and continually strive to find efficient ways to route and reduce transportation costs
    • Monitor compliance flags for carrier’s load, tender and acceptance to ensure timely delivery.  Monitor domestic shipments and alert Replenishment and Merchandising if shipping exceeds the Required Ship Day or delivery exceeds the Required Delivery Day.
    • Manage ad hoc internal request for carriers; identify transportation requirements, handle freight bid negotiations and make carrier selection.
    • Builds and maintains good working relationships with carriers, receivers, and company distribution centers
    • Assist Transportation leadership with pre-audit and carrier aging reports to ensure prompt payment of freight invoices.
    • Work with vendors to ensure the core carrier program is followed to improve DC and load efficiency.
    • Monitor carrier compliance to delivery schedules, capture metrics and prepare reports for the Director Logistics to review with carriers to ensure proper service levels.
    • Develop and Manage business using key performance indicators (KPI’s) recommending corrective actions to Operations Team for low performing carriers
    • Manage and direct any tracing requests or inquiries from system users ensuring follow-up and communication to caller.
    • Prepare freight claims and work with carriers on resolution and payment.
    • Work with AAP internal teams and vendors to ensure the core carrier program is followed to improve DC and load efficiency.
    • Performs all other duties and special projects as directed by Supervision.
    • Ensures adherence to all company policies and procedures

    Minimum Position Qualifications/Education:

    • College degree or 3+ years of related experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Good organizational and time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
    • Highly analytical with ability to understand/resolve complex operational issues involving numerous, ever-changing variables and constraints
    • Ability to identify new methods/processes, determine impact and develop implementation plan
    • Ability to identify/communicate system issues quickly and effectively

    Desired Previous Job Experience

    • Previous experience in TMS applications a plus, specific to Blue Yonder(BY).
    • Team oriented leadership experience
    • Experience in warehouse shipping/receiving, supply chain, general freight hauling, direct store delivery and backhauling transportation operations

    Inventory Specialist

    • An Inventory Specialist works with and reports to the General Manager and is responsible for HUB operation while performing the following duties. Other duties may be assigned.

    Primary Duties And Responsibilities

    • Pull and ship HUB orders on time.
    • If HUB order can’t be filled, call servicing store before next HUB run explaining how to reorder.

    What is a Salesperson?

    • Entry level sales position capable of supporting the DIY business and achieve our sales and service objectives. The role has good knowledge of store systems, basic automotive system knowledge and basic part knowledge. The role has the basic ability to source from stores, hubs, pdq, and external suppliers. The role has in-depth knowledge of the store inventory and maintenance processes. Position can be part time or full time. Fleet safety certification preferred.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.
