    Graphic Designer - Bellville (Afrikaans News)

    Media24 News has a vacancy for a graphic designer in its Commercial content team. The successful candidate will be responsible for graphic design for Media24 News’ various publications in Cape Town. The position will mostly be based in Bellville.

    Minimum requirements:

    • Matric/Grade 12
    • Appropriate tertiary qualification in graphic design
    • At least 4 years of relevant experience
    • Previous experience in a newspaper, magazine, or advertising agency environment
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe design software as well as motion graphics
    • Willingness to work irregular hours when necessary
    • Must have own reliable transport
    • Proficient and fluent in Afrikaans and English
    • Experience in design for a digital platform will be advantageous

    • Handling the production flow from design to final print stage
    • Accurate placement of all designs
    • Design of print and digital advertisements and/or print materials for all marketing communication projects

    Digital Key Account Manager Eastern Cape: Adspace24

    Adspace24, a division of Media24 has a vacancy for a Key Account Manager to join the digital sales team. The purpose of this position is to generate and grow advertising sales in order to sell Media 24 digital brands and platforms within the geographic or product boundaries, thereby meeting predetermined targets.

    Key responsibilities/outputs:

    • Develop and implement account plans and approaches in line with the overall strategy formulated by the Head of Digital Strategy.
    • Identify and generate new business opportunities on an ongoing basis in order to achieve predetermined sales targets
    • Prepare and present sales proposals and presentations
    • Create tailored media solutions which meet the client’s short- and long-term needs
    • Build strategic working relationships with clients direct by maintaining a high level of client contact (telephonic / face to face) to ensure that their specific requirements are addressed, in order to monitor and grow existing business
    • Analyse potential sales opportunities by using data analyses, segmented research and information available to identify the attributes most valued by these potential clients
    • Provide professional and exceptional client service in all interactions with clients
    • Closely monitor competitors and maintain client database
    • Keep all administrative work updated
    • Report on sales opportunities and achievements as required (weekly / monthly)
    • Maintain a high level of relevant industry knowledge
    • Provide feedback and reports to the business on a weekly / monthly basis.

     Qualifications and experience:

    • Matric with relevant tertiary education is essential
    • 3 years’ relevant sales experience within the media industry
    • In-depth knowledge of the media industry, with specific emphasis on newspapers
    • Digital advertising sales experience (publisher platforms)
    • Personal computer skills and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
    • Personal drive, professionalism and integrity
    • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
    • Strong presentation skills
    • Well-developed / proven advertising agency and big client contact base
    • Valid driver's license and own reliable transport essential

    Gear Room Manager

    Main purpose of the role:

    • Responsible for managing the overall workflow / functionality of the equipment room and all production equipment.

    Requirements

    • Storage/ Inventory management qualification or relevant.
    • At least 1-year relevant experience in storage or inventory management.
    • Knowledge of the latest gear and technology with strong technical proficiency.
    • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on quality and excellence.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Responsible for managing our extensive inventory of cameras, lighting equipment, sound gear, and more.
    • Ensure that every piece of equipment is accounted for and assigned equipment is ready to go when needed.
    • Coordinating equipment pickups and returns to maintaining inventory records and overseeing repairs to ensure that production runs smoothly.
    • Inspect and perform maintenance on assigned equipment.
    • Maintains up to date records of warranties, licenses, inspections, service agreements, and contracts for various pieces of equipment.
    • Provide recommendations for purchases of new equipment.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned by Head of Production.
