    Product Controller - Sandton

    Job Summary

    • The overall responsibility of Product Control includes P&L reporting, balance sheet substantiation, and/or responsibility for process ownership within an asset class, and/or involvement in broader, floor wide Product Control initiatives

    Job Description

    Reporting & Substantiation related responsibilities include:

    • Accounting – posting to the General Ledger accurate and timely information
    • Substantiation of the trading balance sheet – ensuring the full trading balance sheet can be substantiated
    • Regulatory reporting alignment - ensuring the Balance sheet is aligned to reports send to regulators
    • Data ownership – Ensuring the quality and accuracy of the data going downstream to other infrastructure areas
    • Control environment – Overseeing the control environment in which the business operates
    • P&L review – understanding and providing commentary on the P&L
    • In the process of production focus is needed on:
    • Reporting – Ensuring reporting is accurate and timely
    • Control – Continue to implement the on-going control environment and report any deficiencies or issues to managers

    • Join Global Markets team in senior FIC Fundamental Sales role. Suited to a candidate with at least 10 years’ experience in SA markets, either in a Sales or Research role. Will need to have the relevant markets relationship. A CFA designation would be preferable.

    Quantitative Analyst: Sustainability Risk - Johannesburg

    Job Summary

    • To provide specialist advice and support in area of specialization enabling the effective implementation of risk frameworks.

    Job Description

    • Integrate ESG and climate data across various climate data sources, e.g. IEA, CDP, IPCC, Bloomberg, Moody’s and sustainability reports etc.
    • Build the required infrastructure and pipeline for optimal ETL (extraction, transformation, and loading) of data from various data sources using various data technologies.
    • Design and implement processes including designing ESG and climate data infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes.
    • Identify and address ESG data matters, such as approaches to missing data, data quality issues, and leveraging structured/unstructured data.
    • Leverage data science tools and libraries to perform data mining, prediction, and analytics.
    • Develop analytical reports using data query and data analytical/reporting tools, e.g., SAS, SQL, PowerBI, QlikView, etc., per business requirements.
    • Develop data governance practices in line with head office guidelines.
    • Produce proprietary and unique data-driven ESG insights and approaches, particularly with respect to climate and scenario analysis approaches.
    • Timely identification and escalation of problem items.
    • Ongoing maintenance of climate risk data repositories.
    • Analyze internal and externally sourced climate data and reports to provide detailed views, risk insights and propose differentiated approaches.
