Job Description

• A qualified Artisan. Install , maintain, test and commission electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment and systems at the plant, as well as work on electrical transmission and distribution equipment and carries out preventative maintenance.

Requirements

• Grade 12/NQF4
• Strong mechanical- and electrical experience in both fields is essential
• Boilermaking Skills compulsary
• Code B drivers license
• Valid Trade Certificate: Millwright is essential
• Clear Criminal Record

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Reduce breakdowns and downtimes periods in the relevant business unit to limit unnecessary costs
• Install, maintain, repair and commission electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment and systems at the plant, as well as work on electrical transmission and distribution equipment
• Report machine failure and breakdowns to management, record it on the daily log sheet and ensure job cards are filled in correctly and signed off by the relevant manager
• Continuously improvement on all equipment and installation measures
• Ensure preventative scheduled maintenance is done as scheduled and machinery functions optimal on a continuous basis
• Comply with Occupational Health and Safety requirements as per VKB standards and procedures
• Continuously do fault finding and problem solving on electrical equipment
• Liaise with internal departments on an ongoing basis to ensure the quality of services and products
• Complete all compulsory training interventions 
• Mentor employees to follow standard practices and processes to ensure quality services and less down time in the relevant business unit

Job Description

• Performs a number of complex tasks requiring thorough training and experience and the use of sophisticated equipment.

Requirements

• Grade 12/NQF 4.
• Previous experience in a similar role/ within a Silo will serve as recommendation.
• Willing to work after hours should it be required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Push tumbrel in position according to orders given and prescriptions on a continuous basis, during grain receiving, handling and offloading.
• Inspect grain conveyer belts for damage and grain transport according to policy and procedures to prevent mixing of different grain.
• Monitor grain to different bind for correct dumping.
• Inspect and measure grain bins.
• Maintain neatness of work environment.
• Oversee the process of offloading truck and wagons correctly.
• Continuous application of regulations with regards to safety equipment.
