    Senior Manager: HR Service Delivery

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
    The Senior Manager, Human Resources Service Delivery, is part of the HR Service Delivery function at the SSH. The role would lead and oversee the Human Resources function at the SSH and support the activities for MTN Operating Companies (OpCos) and SSH.
    The Senior Manager, Human Resources Service Delivery reports to the General Manager, HR Service Delivery and is supported by human resources process Managers. In addition to the oversight of human resources teams, the purpose of this role is also to ensure standardisation and process improvement across all OpCos; and to partner with HR Centre of Excellence (CoE), OpCos and SSH, as applicable to ensure effective and efficient operations via Oracle and non-process workflows as appropriate.
    Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)

    • Strategy Development and Implementation
    • Lead creation of sub-divisional strategy in line with overarching divisional goals
    • Ensure effective implementation of sub-divisional strategy by means of providing direction, structure, business plans and support
    • Lead the design and implementation of Sage 300 People and enhancements required to support Payroll. Include Oracle Cloud Fusion and Oracle Cloud Overtime and Labour

    Staff Leadership and Management

    • Source, induct and manage talent in accordance with legislative guidelines
    • Ensure open communication channels with staff and implement change management interventions where necessary
    • Provide definition of roles, responsibilities, individual goals and performance objectives for the team
    • Set key performance indicators and provide regular performance feedback through a well-defined and implemented performance review program
    • Develop and implement a training plan to build and develop skills within the team
    • Performance manage resources in accordance with HR policy and legislation where necessary
    • Actively participate in the leadership team and develop skills of own team
    • Promote an ‘MTN centric’ and ‘partnership approach to develop strong relationships with other working groups and ensure adherence to Group governance

    Governance

    • Adhoc and Operational Meetings
    • Participate and provide inputs in operational meetings
    • Set up and manage ad-hoc meetings
    • Ensure coordination, communication and control between function and process owners

    Escalations

    • Manage and resolve escalations that have an impact on the critical path of service delivery
    • Escalate issues that will result in significant time, scope, employee/client or cost impact if not resolved
    • Manage and provide solutions to issues that require formal resolution

    Payroll design and implementation

    • Set up and manage project status
    • Lead the design and implementation of Sage 300 people
    • Lead the design and implementation of Oracle Cloud Fusion on enhancements required to support Payroll
    • Lead the design and implementation of Oracle Cloud Fusion on enhancements required to support Payroll
    • Lead the design and implementation of Oracle Cloud HCM OTL to support Payroll

    SSH Operational

    • Set up and manage project status meetings
    • Review and identify key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions
    • Manage budgets
    • Sign-off/ make decisions regarding operational changes.

    Performance

    • Review performance against agreed key performance indicators and compliance to service level agreements
    • Create and monitor plan for continuous improvement
    • Review performance of SSH teams

    Reporting

    • Report on a monthly basis to the General Manager, HR Service Delivery relating to progress made within the sub-division and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organisation
    • Oversee the preparation of reports (monthly and yearly) covering the preparation and review of all reconciliations, reports and analyses

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/Social Sciences
    • Postgraduate degree in Human Resources and/Social Sciences or equivalent professional qualification

    Experience:

    • 10-15 years of relevant working experience in global, multiple operations across different markets
    • 3-5 years in a managerial role
    • Oracle and/or SCM Sage experience preferred
    • Design and implementation of integrated Payroll required

    Training:

    • Working knowledge of Payroll System (Sage 300 People)
    • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

    Other

    • Working knowledge Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System (Oracle preferred)
    • Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of fast formulas
    • MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Experience in a Shared Service Centers / Business Process Outsourcing environment
    • Global human resources operations experience
    • Understanding of data analytics
