    CEO: Digital Platform

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
    The CEO Digital Platform will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the long-term growth and commercial strategy for Digital in MTN. At this point in time, the MTN Digital business portfolio is run in a hybrid way with functional oversight by the CEO Digital Platform at Group level and operational execution within each MTN operating company. As part of MTN’s strategy Ambition 25, the company is building the vertical messaging/content/ commerce platform Ayoba which will include access to the future digital services portfolio and evolve into an independent line of business. The CEO Digital Platform will therefore be accountable for a pro-forma P&L across all digital services in the OpCos and for the contribution of Digital to the success of Ayoba.

    The CEO Digital Platform is responsible for the growth of digital service products and services and oversees business development opportunities. This entails defining the overall strategy and business plan and effective execution of the plans related to Digital Services, as measured by digital sector market share, and product revenue and product margin. The scope of accountability includes overall service/product development, business casing, execution and product lifecycle supporting roadmap definition, execution and performance management of existing products and services through the digital teams within operating companies.

    This role is responsible to oversee and manage the following digital portfolios:

    • VAS & CRBT
    • OTT Partnerships
    • RMS business development

    • As part of the leadership team, the CEO is also responsible to contribute to the comprehensive MTN overall strategic goals, to achieve profitable growth, and to continuously improve the operations performance.

    Strategy Development and Implementation

    • Lead the creation of the functional strategy in line with the overarching business goals
    • Ensure effective implementation of the strategy by means of providing direction, structure, frameworks, models, plans and roadmaps
    • Oversee regular review of the functional strategy and roadmap to ensure its alignment with the changing dynamics of the internal and external ecosystem
    • Engage with OpCos and supporting internal stakeholders to develop, formulate a strategy and plan of execution in line with the overarching business goals and strategies as informed by Group / Opco Executives.
    • Leverage MTN’s Digital services assets to drive success of the new Ayoba platform
    • Ensure effective implementation of the strategy by means of providing direction, support, technical and commercial frameworks, models, roadmaps, partners, and products to the OpCos
    • Drive the requirement specification for MTN’s evolving digital technology platforms and ensure delivery via the Group CTIO function and Opco CTIOs
    • Identify and assess new opportunities for MTN Group / OPCOs in the Digital space
    • Structure and negotiate differentiating partnerships with global and regional digital services leaders and drive roll-out of partnership-based propositions across the MTN Opco footprint

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
    Education:

    • Minimum of 4 year tertiary degree (Information Technology, Management, Marketing, Bachelors of science, Engineering or related field)
    • MBA or Masters (advantageous)

    Experience:

    • Minimum 12-15 years of significant / relevant experience in Digital Services, Telecommunication, eCommerce, Internet or Media
    • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in the Telecom Digital Services environment
    • Minimum of 4 years of experience in senior executive management role
    • Exceptional leadership and management skills; track record of developing a communication strategy, building relationships across teams and key stakeholders to achieve goals
    • Significant experiences in driving innovation, change and new business with a multinational
    • Relevant Executive management experience with a regional or global organization

    Senior Manager: Finance Operations and Head Office Accounting

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
    Senior Manager: Finance Operations and Head Office Accounting is primarily responsible to  Implement and maintain financial processes, keeping abreast of latest developments in accounting standards  and integrate into MTN Group accounting policies and procedures.     Strategy Development and Implementation

    • Ensuring compliance to GAAP and IFRS in monthly reporting.
    • Preparation of income tax returns required by South African Revenue Services.
    • Responsible for payments to Non-Executive Directors and resultant payments, where applicable.
    • Involvement in the budgeting process of Head office companies and their subsidiary companies
    • Monthly reviews of internal Head office companies’ departments – actual against budgets
    • Follow up of significant variances and reporting to management
    • Assist with the preparation of packs (financial information only) for Board meetings, as well as the preparation of minutes, as and when required.

    Senior Manager: Tax Strategy Planning and Transfer Pricing

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
    The Senior Manager: Tax Strategy Planning & Transfer Pricing is responsible to ensure optimal tax benefits for the Finco Group by applying sound tax management planning and principles within global and national legislative guidelines.

    Key Responsibilities of the role include:

    • Support the development of Group Corporate Tax Strategy
    • Responsible to manage Tax Planning and Effective Tax Rate Management

    Group Finco Tax Budgeting & Forecasting

    • Prepare and monitor consolidated Group tax budget and forecasts based on local inputs on tax budgets & forecasts from the Opcos
    • Review and provide input to Opco tax budgets and forecasts and in-line with the local taxation regulations, Group taxation policies and other statutory requirements
    • Conduct periodic reviews, analyze variations and recommend measures, with respect to Group tax forecasts, budgets an actual
    • Compute and monitor Group Management Services (GMS) effective tax rate (ETR). Provide advice and recommend measures to Executive Leaders, as required, to manage desired Group Effective Tax rate
    • Monitor local Opco submission of tax computations (current tax computation, deferred tax computation and effective tax rate reconciliation) by the Opcos
    • Review income tax assessments performed for the Group entities
    • Provide inputs for finance structuring and financial planning with respect to corporate tax payments
    • Collaborate with the Group Treasury team to effectively manage cash flows for tax payments
    • Provide inputs to effectively manage the cash losses with respect to any tax assessment and recommend appropriate mitigating strategies.

    Senior Manager: Financial Consolidation and Reporting

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
    The Senior Manager: Financial consolidation and reporting is responsible for activities related to period end, consolidation, and intercompany accounting.     Manager: Technical Accounting

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
    The Manager Technical Accounting is responsible for activities related to accounting policies, procedures and templates.  The purpose of this job is to act as the subject matter expert for the Technical Accounting areas within the Finance Operations division of Group Finco Finance

    The job is expected to provide technical Accounting and Financial leadership to the team to ensure compliance with all applicable Accounting regulations and professional standards.

    Strategy Development and Implementation

    • Provide expert knowledge to support and contribute to the development of the functional Finance Operations strategy in line with the overarching business goals

    Operational Delivery

    • Assume the technical accounting managerial role of the Finco Group on all IFRS, IAS and local statutory accounting matters.

    • Provide guidance to Opcos on statutory accounting and reporting requirements with respect to the preparation of financial statements
    • Provide active support and guidance on all M&A projects with technical opinions on transaction structures, shareholder agreements (changes) on the accounting / IFRS / IAS impact of M&A transactions, IPO’s etc and proactively analyse impact to Group financials and external reporting
    • Assess the current ERP Environment at Group and Opcos for compliance with IFRS, local statutory, tax Group Accounting Policy compliance.
    • Design solutions to implement a common standard at all opcos based on industry research, best practices, and Group Requirements.
    • Prepare formal papers for the board and other stakeholders on technical accounting matters relevant to the group and or Opco

    Senior Manager: HR Service Delivery

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
    The Senior Manager, Human Resources Service Delivery, is part of the HR Service Delivery function at the SSH. The role would lead and oversee the Human Resources function at the SSH and support the activities for MTN Operating Companies (OpCos) and SSH.
    The Senior Manager, Human Resources Service Delivery reports to the General Manager, HR Service Delivery and is supported by human resources process Managers. In addition to the oversight of human resources teams, the purpose of this role is also to ensure standardisation and process improvement across all OpCos; and to partner with HR Centre of Excellence (CoE), OpCos and SSH, as applicable to ensure effective and efficient operations via Oracle and non-process workflows as appropriate.

    General Manager: Financial Planning and Analysis, and Business Partnering

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
    The General Manager: FP&A and Business Partnering is responsible to provide insightful financial and operational input to business initiatives, challenge key forecasting assumptions, and deliver expert financial analysis of key risks and sensitivities to FinTech business teams.

    Furthermore, the General Manager will create strategic capacity with regards to strategic financial planning and modelling, reporting, and pricing. The GM will be responsible for and lead forecasting &  business planning for Fintech Group & MTN Opco’s. Further, act as strategic financial business partner to assist business on making financial business decisions that is aligned to both Finance and FinTech business strategy.

    Strategy Development and Implementation

    Senior Engineer: Voice

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
    The position will provide technical support for operation and maintenance of MTN GlobalConnect voice network. The Senior Voice Engineer will drive continuous process improvement plans and analysis. The role will identify performance measures to increase network efficiencies and maintain the service level agreed with various customers.

    The Senior Voice Engineer will be accountable to achieve the following objectives: 

    • Operation and maintenance of the Voice Network infrastructure (SBC, MSC and Application Servers, SIP server, etc.…).

    • Coordinate the pre-migration and the CDR reconciliation

    • Analyze performance measurement & statistics to improve network efficiencies and identify potential issues.

    • Leading all operational aspects of managed services by ensuring stable, robust and scalable operational processes to support delivery models  
    • Ensure and monitor those processes are in place to pro-actively protect consistent service quality to meet contract expectations through acceptable controls and service procedures in line with agreed upon process and standards 
    • Define SLAs and customer-specific reporting of this service, both internal (OpCos) and external end customers 
    • Creating and implementing standardized processes within the business unit and improving on existing methodologies, including departmental structures and organizational improvements 
    • Manage and resolve high severity issues, complex problems, and outages in a timely manner using knowledge with assistance from vendors and in-house resources as needed 
    • Support in the review and management of the customer service requests to ensure all they are correctly prioritized, scheduled and moved through the system as desired

    Engineer: Signaling Principal

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
    The Signaling Principal Engineer will form a part of a highly skilled group of technical experts who are responsible of technical management of the MTN Global infrastructure especially the Signaling setup.  He will organize, coordinate, and supervise Signaling peering, service configuration and customer support for Signaling related service like roaming, SMS etc… in line with the overall business objectives of the company.

    Key Tasks:  

    • Configuration of Signaling peering (Diameter, SS7) and security (Signaling Firewall) with MTN Opcos and SCCP carriers and interaction with the Roaming Hub.  
    • Support the Signaling configuration in relation with International Roaming (Technical Coordination). 
    • Support all signaling migration from the OpCos to MTN GlobalConnect  
    • Support all GTP migration and IPX GRX of MTN operations. 
    • Support  the implementation and support of the centralized PCRF. 
    • Ensure service availability by keeping the roaming and Signaling database updated and consistent to avoid service disturbance. 
    • Prevent and address any potential revenue leakage identified on Roaming & Interconnect areas. 
    • Develop Policies, Processes & Procedures: Analyse the existing procedures and propose new ones to enhance quality and productivity. Develop and maintain effective processes to ensure effective interface with Customer Care, Marketing, Sales and Finance Departments.  
    • Produce the periodical reports of the Department on schedule. 
    • Ensure departmental and special project implementation with stakeholders in timely manner (e.g. planned expansions, upgrades, migrations, swaps, new services). 
    • Ensure Signaling, Roaming performance and Quality monitoring as per MTN Group standard (General service KPIs, Capacity monitoring KPIs, operational KPIs).
