    HR Director: Organisational Development and Effectiveness

    Duties    

    • As a senior member of the SU HR Directorate, the incumbent will lead the design, implementation, and review of ODE strategies, policies, and programmes across key areas:
    • Talent Attraction, Retention, and Organisational Design: Developing and implementing strategies to attract and retain top talent, build a strong employer brand, and optimise recruitment and onboarding processes;
    • Talent Management: Designing and executing talent management programmes, including succession planning, performance management, and leadership development, to foster a culture of continuous learning and excellence;
    • Talent Inclusion and Engagement: Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within SU, ensuring employee engagement and well-being are at the forefront of organisational priorities;
    • Stakeholder Relations Management: Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, integrating ODE best practices into client planning and operations;

    Qualifications:

    Experience:

    • Candidates with an honours degree: At least ten years' experience in HR management, with at least five years in a senior managerial role within organisational development/effectiveness;

    HR Director: Governance, Strategy, Policy and Projects

    Duties/Pligte        

    • Developing and implementing frameworks for the development, integration, standardisation, and review of HR strategies, policies, processes, and projects;
    • Providing expert advice and support to the HR directorate team on the development of aligned, area-specific strategies and policies, ensuring proper alignment and framing of HR documents for governance structures;
    • Applying a broad legal understanding in employment and labour law, regulatory compliance, and privacy to ensure compliance and a risk-based approach across the HR domain;
    • Taking responsibility for tracking, monitoring, and reporting on the progress of HR policies, processes, and projects, ensuring timely completion and compliance;

    Qualifications:

    • At least an honours degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Management, or a related field;
    • A relevant master's degree (NQF 9), preferably in HR Management, Industrial Psychology, or a related discipline, would be highly desirable.

    Experience:

    • Ten to twelve years' relevant experience, with at least three to five years in a managerial or strategic leadership position;
    • Proven experience in the development and review of policies, procedures, and processes;
    • Experience in working with governance processes; 
    • Track record of working cooperatively across functions managing conflicting demands, balancing interests of multiple stakeholders to achieve shared objectives and to fairly represent interests;

    HR Director: Client Partnering - Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences

    Duties    

    • Providing expert HR advice to the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, ensuring the effective implementation of SU HR strategies, policies, and processes;
    • Acting as a strategic thought partner and first-line HR respondent for the Faculty, building strong relationships and ensuring deep immersion within the client environment;
    • Ensuring compliance and proactive risk management in all HR matters, particularly in navigating the complexities of the Faculty's staffing arrangements;
    • Collaborating with the Dean, Executive team, Faculty managers, employees, and SU HR colleagues, especially those in centres of excellence, to ensure that insights from the Faculty inform broader institutional HR strategies;

    Director: IT Partnerships and Project Management

    Duties    

    • Serving as the liaison between IT and the Faculties, Teaching and Learning, Research, Social Impact and the professional academic and administrative support environments, understanding their needs and ensuring alignment with institutional goals and strategic priorities;
    • Leading the design, implementation, and management of the Business Relationship Management (BRM) framework linked to the international BRM practice to include both institutional systems as well as special systems within divisions and faculties;

    • More than ten years' experience in IT, with at least five years in a leadership role focusing on business relationship management, partnerships, project management, demand management, communication and innovation;       
    • Experience in building and maintaining internal and external strategic partnerships;       
    • An excellent understanding of the digital transformation opportunities and challenges of higher education institutions;       
    • An excellent understanding of the challenges facing South African higher education institutions;       
    • Proven experience in managing complex IT projects and developing strategic partnerships in a higher education environment;      
    • Strong understanding of demand management, project management methodologies, the software development lifecycle, tools and best practices;

    Director: IT Network, Infrastructure and Security

    Duties    

    • Leading the architectural design, implementation, and management of Stellenbosch University's (SU) IT infrastructure, including but not limited to servers, storage, networks, data centres, card systems and cloud services;
    • Overseeing the physical infrastructure, including but not limited to cabling, hardware installations, and maintenance of physical network components;
    • Designing, implementing and managing a comprehensive virtualisation strategy (for instance containerisation) that facilitates a hybrid topology (cloud and on-premises) to ensure adaptability, scalability, maintainability, security and cost-effectiveness;
    • Developing an information and cyber risk management structure aligned to the level of defence required to improve cyber resilience in consultation with stakeholders;

    Customer Liaison Officer (Job Level 9)

    Duties

    Recruitment Planning:

    • Supporting the implementation and executing comprehensive student recruitment planning  to achieve enrolment goals;
    • Providing input to comprehensive student recruitment planning to support the achievement of enrolment goals;
    • Identifying and targeting key markets, both domestically and internationally, for student recruitment.

    Partnership and Relationship Building:
