    Fashion Graphic Designer

    Job Description
    Truworths is looking for a talented, self-motivated, creative, fashion industry Graphic Designer with experience in designing original, fashionable placement and textile prints. If you enjoy working in a team, as well as one-on-one with Buyers, love research, and are able to execute a large volume and variety of artworks across various brands, then this is the opportunity for you.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provides an effective day-to-day service to the business with a particular emphasis on computer design for fashion T-shirt graphics, all over prints, branding, etc.
    • Displays the ability to positively influence Buyers and various stakeholders in decisions regarding newness and trend with an eye for commerciality.
    • Research various graphic artworks on the internet as well as make use of and introduce other related sources in order to present the Buyer with a number of initial graphic concepts.
    • Understanding of print types (tile prints/placement/repeat/screen/digital, etc.) and colour separations.
    • Demonstrates a high degree of innovation in design work on fashion graphics.
    • Using appropriate technical skills (Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) the Graphic Designer will be required to design and recreate images that are agreed on.
    • Good understanding of computer systems and a quick learner on new software.
    • Building relationships with the relevant Buyers in order to execute a detailed graphic design brief.
    • Obtain necessary approvals and documentation to ensure the appropriate design is selected and signed off.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Free hand drawing design skill would be an advantage.
    • Good understanding of computer systems.
    • Technical skills (Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)

    Competencies

    • Ability to work well in a team.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
    • Good time management as well as the ability to adapt to change.

    Loss Prevention Analyst - Cape Town

    Job Description
    Truworths is looking for an analytically inclined Loss Prevention Analyst with a passion for analytics and retail. As a Loss Prevention Analyst, you will assist the business in protecting its merchandise and cash by analyzing store data, monitoring incidents, and maintaining exception-based reports to identify theft and fraud.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Using data mining techniques to identify point-of-sale related trends and high-risk transactions/cases of fraud and loss.
    • Develop and maintain loss prevention predictive analytics, using SQL and other coding languages and tools (such as ACL and SAS).
    • Provision of analysis, highlighting patterns and anomalies within data, for targeted action by the Field/Field Audit team.
    • Provide recommendations for ways to improve systems and processes to avoid future loss.
    • Processing information – compiling, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, and verifying information and data.
    • Identification of control weaknesses and non-compliance with policies and procedures.
    • Develop and assist with the implementation of loss prevention initiatives.
    • Production of supporting evidence for use in investigations, disciplinary, or criminal cases.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A bachelor’s degree.
    • Minimum 2 years related Loss Prevention experience.
    • Retail or Banking Sector Audit and Data Analysis background or Retail or Banking Sector Risk background.
    • Store operations experience is advantageous.
    • Experience in correlation and trend analysis and ability to develop conclusions based on the data.

    Competencies

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows.
    • Advanced Excel skills.
    • Experience in an analytics tool.
    • Proficiency in SQL; knowledge of SAS and ACL is advantageous.
    • Needs strong analytical skills to identify trends, anomalies, and outliers in high volumes of data.
    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
    • Ability to develop comprehensive reports.
