    Human Resource Assistant Site

    Job description:

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

    • Provide assistance to the site HR team by supporting the recruitment, engagement, termination, employee relations and labour control administration process for multiple sections(sections site specific).
    • Administrate and monitor unavailable labour and distribute reports as required
    • Complete Crew Make-up checklists, check for completeness, obtain approval and distribute as required
    • Update and maintain the manning boards to standard (site specific task)
    • Verify that the manning board and crew make up are aligned (site specific task)
    • Follow up on crew make-up compliance and anomalies identified
    • Identify type of absenteeism, compile absenteeism report and submit to supervisor
    • Initiate and arrange Absenteeism case handling with supervisor and take into consideration employee’s previous disciplinary record
    • Distribute absenteeism hearing outcome to the T&A Clerks and HR Officer and update the employee’s file on site.
    • Compile the Leave Plan in consultation with the section HODs to confirm who will be scheduled to go on leave, inform employees accordingly.
    • Verify that leave planning for foreigners comply with the leave regulations of the employee’s home country, inform TEBA accordingly and manage work permits
    • Process engagements, transfers, promotions and terminations of employees
    • Verify employee licenses and schedule renewals timeously
    • Effectively self-manage in alignment with M&RC’s values
    • Be prepared to sometimes work outside of normal working hours

    Minimum requirements:

    Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

    • Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent
    • Human Resources related Degree / National Diploma at NQF Level 6
    • Proficient in MS Office (Word and Excel)
    • Exposure to an online recruitment system e.g. PNET
    • Exposure to SharePoint or similar document management system (advantageous)
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Good Planning, organizing and administration skills
    • Good English communication skills [Written and verbal]

    Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

    • At least 4 years of relevant HR experience, preferably within a mining contracting environment, with working knowledge of manning, labour control and recruitment

    Winding Engine Driver

    Job description:

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

    • Communicating winding engine defects to the appropriate supervisor or manager
    • Performing ore pulling operations from shaft bottom with kibble winder
    • Co-ordinating winding activities with total process requirements
    • Compiling accurate shift reports
    • Escalating abnormal operation problems to appropriate Engineer or manager
    • Responding to standard hauling signals
    • Assisting during breakdowns or emergencies
    • Helping engineering employees to maintain equipment in the winder area

    Site Engineer (Electrical)

    Job description:

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

    • Achievement of project engineering budget
    • The management of all related construction work at Ivan Plats Sinking Project and Construction
    • Risk Management of contract in conjunction with other contractors working within the same project.
    • Managing interactions with other contractors who will be performing other activities within the project.
    • Ensure safe erection, installation and commissioning of civil works, mechanical, structural, and electrical equipment.
    • Quality control of products/equipment supplied to sites
    • Setting standards and project planning
    • Motivating, coaching, and developing subordinates
    • Responsible for coordinating other shaft activities with other contractors who will be performing other activities within the project.
    • Effectively manage various installation simultaneously
    • Effective self-management and alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiatives 

    Minimum requirements:

    Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

    • BSc Engineering degree from a recognised institution, B Tech, or National Higher Diploma
    • DMR Government Certificate of Competency to practice as an engineer (GCC) (mechanical or electrical)
    • ECSA registration will be advantageous
    • Valid Driver’s license
    • MS Office proficient including MS Projects

     Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

    • At least 5 years’ shaft sinking experience at Engineer level, having held an Engineer’s legal appointment for equipment and all related shaft sinking works.

    • A proven track record in the leading a multidiscipline construction team.
    • Good knowledge of project management, planning and scheduling.
    • Experience and knowledge of QA system and associated documentation.

    • Effectively plan, organise and control the rebuild and repair of TMM machines to agreed schedules, budget and OEM standards and specifications.

    • Order parts / equipment timeously and within budget
    • Read and interpret technical documents and schematics and apply effective fault finding methodologies and validation techniques
    • Provide an effective after sales service to clients and on the job coaching and training to learner artisans
    • Prompt identification of recurring defects and inefficiencies, flag, analyse and resolve / escalate accordingly
    • Self and team understand and comply with OEM specifications and M&RC’s standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols
