    Production Manager

    Job Description

    • Responsible and accountable for the effective leadership of AECI Animal Health production team.
    • Manage and direct the activities of the production team (including labour broker assisting in the day to day running of A & B Plants) in order to achieve optimum performance in line with the company’s strategic plan.
    • Adherence to legislation including the Occupational Health and Safety Act as well as Compliance best practices and standards.
    • Responsible for creating and maintaining a team culture of excellence, especially in the area of safety.
    • Responsible to operate the company’s assets at optimum levels of process efficiency and maximum mitigation and containment of operational risk factors.
    • Day to day completion of Production KPI’s.
    • Ensure that works instructions and standard operating procedures are strictly adhered to and all production staff are trained on each procedure.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Matric.
    • Relevant tertiary technical qualification.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ management experience in a relevant manufacturing environment.
    • Good understanding of the OHSACT, ISO Quality and Environmental standards and Safety Principles.
    • A “hands on”, outgoing person who has a proven track record in team building.
    • Computer literate.

    Head of Legal

    Job Description

    • Responsible for the effective management of diverse legal teams across various jurisdictions
    • Setting legal strategy and direction alignment to organisational imperatives
    • Accountable for the operational management of the full suite of legal services across the AECI Group.
    • Strengthen collaboration with external legal advisors, local and cross border
    • Maintain relationships with all internal stakeholders
    • Responsible for reporting and implementation of Legal standards
    • Reporting of legal and ethical breaches
    • Conduct research and develop legal frameworks, analyse local and international trends that could impact the business.
    • Conduct assessment on labour legislation compliance, locally and cross-border
    • Conduct business improvement initiatives on ethics and corporate governance
    • Build a strong and cohesive team by recruiting top talent and creating an inclusive work environment
    • Promote a culture that supports high performance through performance management and employee engagement
    • Mentoring, coaching and developing of the Legal team

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Degree: LLB/LLM
    • MBA will be advantageous
    • Admitted Attorney/Advocate
    • 10-15 years’ work experience in same or similar role
    • 10 years’ experience in managing legal teams in listed company environment
    • Substantial experience in corporate commercial & M&A matters
    • Knowledge of applicable legislation including corporate law, competition law, contract law, dispute resolution, environmental law, mining law, labour law, etc.
    • Solid regulatory compliance experience in multinational companies
    • Proven track record in establishing formal legal policies, procedures and internal controls
    • Strong legal risk management background
    • Demonstrable legal project management experience
    • Leadership and management of lawyers and non-lawyers

    Deputy Company Secretary

    Job Description

    • Assist in drafting the various reports as part of the Group’s Integrated Report
    • Plays a key role in the preparation of Board and Committee Documents
    • Provide assistance to the Group Compliance Officer in ensuring compliance with Group Secretariat related legislation and regulations
    • Draft internal governance policies, procedures and internal controls in the management of the Group Secretariat function and ensure adherence thereto
    • Ensure compliance with JSE listing rules, including the drafting of market announcements; regulations; company law and corporate governance guidelines
    • Provide detailed project management of Executive, Board and Committee meetings
    • Attendance and involvement at board meetings
    • Prepare agendas and papers for Board and Committee meetings
    • Provide expert assistance to the Group Investor Relations Office
    • Ensure properly convened shareholder’s meetings
    • Ensure meetings are professionally minuted and documented
    • Provide leadership to the Group Secretariat Team
    • Build a strong and cohesive team by recruiting top talent and creating an inclusive, high-performing and healthy team culture
    • Provide technical direction and guidance to the Group Secretariat team through expert advice, performance management and employee engagement

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Recognised legal degree (B Com Law/BA Law/LLB)
    • Postgraduate degree
    • Admitted Attorney
    • Minimum 10 years’ assistant company secretarial experience
    • Minimum of 8 years JSE listed company secretarial experience (including minute taking)
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience with the JSELR, Companies Act and commercial practice
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing a secretariat department
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in advising boards and committees on governance and compliance matters
    • In-depth knowledge of establishing Group Secretariat policies and procedures
    • Demonstrated knowledge of drafting board and committee documents
