    • Building off our Cloud momentum, Oracle has formed a new organization - Oracle Health Applications & Infrastructure. This team focuses on product development and product strategy for Oracle Health, while building out a complete platform supporting modernized, automated healthcare.     Responsibilities

    • You are technically strong and get a lot done – you’ve built services from scratch that are highly available, scalable, and redundant. You understand that simple systems are easier to operate and tackle. You can balance speed with iteration and incremental improvements. You’ve made life easier for other developers and have motivated your teams to make both process and service improvements.
    • The growth of the business is driving us to improve the ability of our systems to scale out and handle traffic patterns that are several orders of magnitude greater than what we can support today. We need engineers who can build services to handle millions of requests per second and can determine how we can survive regional data center outages.     Qualifications

    • 5+ years distributed service engineering experience in a software development environment
    • Hands-on experience building and operating highly-available, high-traffic web services
    • Experience developing customer facing architectures and restful web services
    • Development experience in Java, C++, C#, and/or .NET as well as scripting languages
    • Deep understanding of object-oriented design and SDK development, specifically within a cloud environment
    • Experience working with other cloud teams and accommodating requirements from those teams (compute, networking, search, storage)
    • Experience in a collaborative, agile development environment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience and understanding of multi-AD/AZ and regional data center
    • Experience and detailed technical knowledge in PaaS engineering

    Legal Counsel, South Africa

    Job Description


     Responsibilities     

    • Responsible for providing legal advice to the organization. 
    • Close liaison to business in providing a variety of corporate and commercial legal services. 
    • Manage litigation on Oracle's behalf and coordinate litigation and other legal, administrative or investigative actions handled by outside counsel. 
    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with public and private sector customers, including licensing agreements, professional services agreements, and cloud services agreements. 
    • Advising on legal issues involving government and regulatory compliance. 
    • Responds to ad hoc queries to include identification, analysis, and evaluation of risks in order to provide appropriate legal solutions. 
    • Works closely with other lawyers throughout Oracle and coordinates legal matters handled by outside lawyers. 
    • Demonstrates intermediate level general commercial or functional knowledge across a sub discipline within specialty area(s), (e.g., general corporate law, antitrust/competition law, regulatory compliance, employment law, cloud transactions, data privacy, contract management, intellectual property and other laws/regulations specific to the computer and technology industry).
    • Participates in EMEA-wide initiatives as required. 
    • Develops understanding of Oracle´s products and services. Corporate housekeeping / company secretarial duties.
    • Provides training to other Oracle functions on legal policy and business practices.
    • Ensures compliance with Oracle business practices, policies, procedures and law. 
    • Performs all other tasks that are appropriate for and required by an in-house company lawyer and as required by the Manager.

    Qualifications 

    • 5+ years post qualification related experience from a leading law firm or appropriate in-house experience. 
    • Completed Law Degree, Completed Articles and Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.   
    • Excellent legal skills and business judgment in areas of responsibility.  
    • Proficient writing skills. 
    • Self-starter with proven ability to manage a fast-paced workload in a demanding, high pressured environment.  
    • Ability to work as part of a team. 
    • Some travel may be required when safe to do so.
