    Plant Human Resource Manager

    Job Overview

    • UD Trucks is known for our pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry.  The Main Purpose of the job is to support senior management at the Pretoria Assembly Plant on HR related issues that drive business performance and participate in the delivering of business goals. Ensure the implementation of global HR policies, processes and business unit specific HR directives.

    Responsibilities and Duties 

    • Support plant management team to deliver the talent and performance to achieve business strategy, targets and KPIs.
    • Responsible for the execution and control of the following HR processes

    Recruitment and Selection: 

    • Performance Management Process
    • Job profiling
    • Talent Management
    • Salary review process and individual salary setting 

    Manage all labour related issues including supporting management in the application of the disciplinary code and labour negotiations.

    • Strong IR background and understanding of labour legislation, and CCMA procedures.

    Responsible for coordinating & dealing with matters concerning union. 

    • Ensure the effective implementation of HR policies, methodologies and guidelines.
    • Proactively build and promote strong employee trust and open communication between all levels through the use of different UD Trucks tools, e.g. Leadership Pipeline, Navigator etc.
    • Responsible for all wellness-related issues and events in cooperation with HR team.
    • Secure that the business unit complies with employment laws, legislation and applicable UD Trucks policies.
    • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of HR reporting data including headcount and workforce planning forecasts within the business unit for employees and consultants.

    Manage the Plant Jnr HRBP and full-time shop steward

    Minimum qualifications & Experience

    • Relevant degree in Behavioral Science/HR Management.
    • MBA/MBL or Relevant Masters degree (Advantageous)
    • Minimum 5 years HR experience at a management level. Experience in an automotive/manufacturing environment will be an advantage.
    • National Bargaining Forum Experience (Advantageous)

    Legal Secretary - JHB

    Job Overview

    UD Trucks is known for our pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry.  As legal Secretary, you will be providing support to the Legal and Compliance Counsel in a variety of matters, including but not limited to commercial drafting, legal research, labour matters and litigation. This position will offer a candidate the opportunity to gain valuable experience prior to commencing their articles, thereby setting them apart from other candidates.

    This position is earmarked to Unemployed Youth on a 12 month contract basis. The person applying must comply with the criteria and be registered on the Yes4Youth platform

    Responsibilities and Duties 

    •  Supporting in commercial litigation matters by preparing briefs to external counsel, liaising with attorneys, attending consultations and court proceedings;
    •  Supporting in labour and disciplinary matters by preparing charge sheets, compiling evidence bundles, preparing arguments and liaising with external attorneys;
    •  Conducting legal research and drafting of opinions;
    •  Preparing draft agreements; and
    •  Filing and maintaining contract files, tracking elements of contracts in databases and spreadsheets, copying files providing general administrative support in relation to ongoing litigation and company secretarial support.

    Minimum qualifications

    •  Completed / near completed LL.B degree;
    •  Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks; and

    • Lead, negotiate and execute sourcing and purchasing activities.

    • Act as “Business Consultant” in related purchasing issues to generate the added value to the stakeholders
    • Drive business synergies and continuous improvement with benchmarking, customer feedback, networking, market Intelligence, best practice sharing across the globe.
    • Prepare and report Key Performance Indicators development to key stakeholders
    • Coach and support other team members in the day-to-day work in order to maximize team performance
    • Drive sourcing and supplier recommendation to improve BBBEE performance
    • Collaborate and drive opportunities for Supplier and Enterprise Development to improve BBBEE performance 

    Minimum qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Advance Diploma Purchasing & Supply or a Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing or Business Administration

    Experience:

    • Minimal 5+ years of experience in purchasing and prefer in indirect purchasing
    • Experience in Supplier Selection processes
    • Experience in projects, preferably as Project Manager leading business and people
    • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking
    • Strong negotiation skills
    • Financial and cost management skills
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
    • Self-motivated, collaborative, proactive and positive attitude with the owner’s mentality

    TMA Technical Support

    Job Overview
    UD Trucks is known for our pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry.  This function reside in the Special Vehicle Development (SVD) division in UD Trucks Southern Africa. SVD is a technology function responsible for the successful development/release/integration of components/component systems  for both CKD and local components.

    This position is earmarked to Unemployed Youth on a 12 month contract basis. The person applying must comply with the criteria and be registered on the Yes4Youth platform

    Responsibilities and Duties 

    •  Provide technical and/or hands-on assistance as required for SVD day-to-day activities
    •  Collect failed components/samples from dealer
    •  Inspect/test failed components as required
    •  Coordinate with external test laboratories/test houses
    •  Influence to use correct test methods, tools
    •  Publish timely TMA test reports and escalate roadblocks
    •  Collaborate with PQE/ RE / WSL / PQL / SV / QW / WH / Dealer / UDTO / external test Labs
    •  Work with AMA parts coordinator to ship parts to supplier location or DC BLR
    •  Ensure tools are calibrated at frequent intervals
    •  Work closely with TMA Manager to efficiently organize testing and inspection schedules to maximize the output of the department

    Minimum qualifications

    • National Diploma/ Higher Diploma in Mechanical engineering or BSC
    • Mechanical/Automotive engineering / Electronics / electrical / Mechatronics
    • Driving license B/EB
    • Experience in truck/truck systems and quality improvement functions will be advantageous
    • Possess acumen on truck service & troubleshooting through data loggers
    • Possess truck parts knowledge
