    Occupational Assessment Officer

    Job Purpose    
    OCCUPATIONAL ASSESSMENT OFFICER

    • To apply the principles of psychology in the administration, scoring, interpretation and reporting of occupational assessment outcomes in order to provide recommendations regarding the assessed individual/s.

    INDUSTRIAL/ORGANISATIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST

    • To analyse, measure, diagnose, intervene, monitor, evaluate and provide feedback and recommendations to relevant stakeholders City-wide on Industrial/Organisational Psychology interventions and projects at an individual, group and organisational level in an effective and efficient manner through undertaking coaching and mentoring suitably qualified individuals requesting exposure in the Branch with regards to conducting either qualitative or quantitative research.

    Special Conditions:

    • Maintenance of current registration as an intern Industrial/Organisational Psychologist with the HPCSA.
    • May be required to work outside of normal working hours as and when required in order to meet the exigencies of the service.

    SENIOR INDUSTRIAL/ORGANISATIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST

    • To analyse, measure, diagnose, intervene, monitor, evaluate and provide feedback and recommendations to relevant stakeholders City-wide especially to Executive Management on occupational assessments and complex Industrial/Organisational Psychology interventions, projects and programmes for eThekwini at an individual, group and organisational level in an effective and efficient manner through undertaking and supervising registered Psychology practitioners in the field of Industrial/Organisational Psychology with respect to conducting mixed method research.

    Key Responsibility Areas    
    OCCUPATIONAL ASSESSMENT OFFICER

    • Ensures that valid and reliable human capital data is provided by selecting psychometric assessment tools suited to the assessment purpose.
    • Ensures that valid and reliable human capital data is provided by developing appropriate work sample tools in collaboration with subject-matter experts.
    • Contributes effectively towards the formulation and development of Human Capital policies to align with Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) requirements.
    • Displays integrity and ethical behaviour in personal and organisational practices.
    • Remains abreast of the latest developments within the field of occupational assessment.
    • Defines tasks and milestones to ensure systematic planning. Systematically identifies, analyses information and resolves existing problems.
    • Disseminates information on processes and presents assessment outcomes or research conclusions.
    • Manages the administrative and reporting requirements associated with the key performance and result indicators of the area of responsibility.

    INDUSTRIAL/ORGANISATIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST

    • In accordance with the COGTA regulations undertakes psychometric assessments for posts excluding executive level posts.
    • Undertakes technical aspects relating to validity and reliability of human capital data is provided.
    • Provides specialist advice and support service to all levels of management, staff, and candidates.
    • Displays and cultivates integrity and ethical behaviour in personal and organisational practices.
    • Undertakes projects as allocated, specifically related to the occupational assessments and organisational diagnostics and effectiveness functionality.
    • In keeping with the latest developments within the field of occupational assessment, organisational diagnostics and organisational effectiveness, conducts psychological research in accordance with guidelines for professional practice of the HPCSA and the Professional Board for Psychology.
    • Partners with relevant stakeholders as a key role-player in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating strategic Human Capital projects pertaining to individual and group level behaviour.
    • Provides professional input in the conceptual formulation and refinement of policies and procedures governing the organisational diagnostics and effectiveness functionality that encompasses occupational assessments and human capital metrics and follows through with the implementation of the accepted policies and development of procedures arising out of these policies.
    • Provide an administrative support service with regards to the assessment centre and human capital metrics function.

    Principal Clerk - Durban

    Job Purpose    

    • To provide customer and related services in accordance with the principles of Batho Pele and the unit’s vision to the eThekwini Municipality customers.

    Key Responsibility Areas    

    • Attend to information sharing, queries and complaints from customers in respect of various services provided by the municipality.
    • Receive and scrutinize applications for vending permits from prospective street traders.
    • Receive and process applications for business license applications in respect of food handling, entertainment and hawking in accordance with the Business Licensing Act.
    • Responsible for general administration duties including filing, maintaining literature and information.
    • Complete a transactional management register daily.
    • Undertake related duties. 

    Special Conditions:

    • Posts of Principal Clerk are interchangeable within the department at the discretion of the Head.

    Supervisor (Cleaning & Hygiene)

    Job Purpose    

    • Responsible for coordinating overall hygiene including effective deep cleaning and pest control in line with the environmental, quality and health and safety standards, supervising the cleaning contractor by ensuring that the carry out their duties as per the agreed SLA.

    • Ensuring that all aspects of the hygiene service are carried out and maintained to the required standard.
    • Managing the provision of hygiene chemicals and dosing equipment on site.

    Manager (Integrated Development Plan)

    Job Purpose    

    • To design and implement interventions which align employees with the strategy of the Municipality and which facilitate communication between the Unit and it's stakeholders in order to deliver services in accordance with the intent of the legislation, and the goals and objectives of Council.

    Key Responsibility Areas    

    • In conjunction with the Senior Manager Integration and Communications, assists line departments to formulate, implement and evaluate Integrated Development Plan (IDP) programmes and projects.
    • Designs and oversees the implementation of an internal communication plan to align employees with the thrust of the IDP.
    • Designs and oversees the implementation of a communication plan to the Units stakeholders.
