    Manager (Integrated Development Plan)

    Job Purpose    

    • To design and implement interventions which align employees with the strategy of the Municipality and which facilitate communication between the Unit and it's stakeholders in order to deliver services in accordance with the intent of the legislation, and the goals and objectives of Council.

    Key Responsibility Areas    

    • In conjunction with the Senior Manager Integration and Communications, assists line departments to formulate, implement and evaluate Integrated Development Plan (IDP) programmes and projects.
    • Designs and oversees the implementation of an internal communication plan to align employees with the thrust of the IDP.
    • Designs and oversees the implementation of a communication plan to the Units stakeholders.
    • In conjunction with the Senior Manager Integration and Communications, monitors the environment both internal and external to the Unit and identifies areas which requireimprovements.
    • Manages the Branches Human Capital i.e. manages, develops and monitors the performance
    • and conduct of staff.
    • Manages the budget for the Branch.
    • Represents the Senior Manager Integration and Communications at meetings
    • Special Conditions:
    • Must be willing to work outside of normal office hours (nights and weekends), as required.

    • Service Delivery Orientation- The ability to explore and implement new ways of delivering services that contribute to the improvement of municipal processes in order to achieve  municipal goals.
    • Interpersonal Relationships- The ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with people within and outside of the Municipality.
    • Client Orientation and Customer Focus- Understands the service needs of a client/customer  (internal or external) and actively focuses on anticipating, meeting and exceeding the needs  in a timely and appropriate manner.
    • Communication- The capacity to listen attentively, grasp issues, present information in a  clear manner and respond appropriately to verbal and written communication of others.
    • Change Readiness- The ability to innovate and challenge the status quo and the ability to  cope with change driven by others.
    • Problem Solving- The ability to gather information, analyse issues and deal with complexity  and ambiguity. Shows long-term thinking, follows through in a logical manner, aware of  consequences and implications. Is able to see the ‘Bigger Picture’.
    • Strategic Capability and Leadership- Contributes to determining and articulating the vision,  sets the direction for the municipality and/or unit and inspires others to deliver on the  municipal mandate.
    • Coaching and Mentoring- The ability to assess skills, performance, and potential of  subordinates and to encourage their development with the view of optimising their talent  and potential.

    Essential Requirements    

    • Tertiary qualification (NQF level 6) in Public Administration field or equivalent. 
    • Valid motor vehicle driving license.
    • 4 Years relevant experience.

    Preferred Requirements    

    • Bachelors Degree (NQF level 7) or equivalent in Public Administration or related field.
    • 6 Years relevant experience.
