    Senior Manager – ICT

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems

     Added advantage:

    • Formal management qualification e.g. MDP, SMDP, etc.
    • ITIL, COBIT, CISA, CGEIT

     Minimum Experience :

    • 8 years of related experience in a corporate IT department with management exposure to both networking, security, and software development
    • 5 years of management experience
    • 3 years of experience in Project Management
    • Understanding of business processes and experience in re-engineering processes
    • Knowledge of Microsoft environment
    • Sound understanding of business processes

     Key Outputs:

    • Reporting to the Executive Manager: Corporate Services, the employee will:
    • Review organisational goals and objectives and establish IT Strategy in-line with these to ensure alignment and co-ordinated effort
    • Review IT trends and Amatola Water business needs and objectives to create IT Strategy in-line with the business
    • Review and keep up-to-date the relevant policies, procedure and Terms of References
    • Provide leadership, strategic direction and management for the IT Department

    • Ensure that the windows server system, primary file, print servers, exchange server, proxy server and SQL servers are configured properly

    • Manage, motivate and develop staff including setting KPI’s and conducting performance reviews
    • Set, agree and monitor performance of staff, check that it is aligned with planned targets

    Junior Developer

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Appropriate Diploma or Degree in System Development and Application e.g. Computer Science Degree, Technical College System Development Diploma

     Minimum Experience:

    • Development experience with at least 2 years .NET (C# / VB.NET) experience in a corporate environment
    • Experience developing new front-end systems as well as enhancements and maintenance of existing systems

    People Resourcing and Benefits Specialist

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Grade 12
    • Degree in Human Resources Management / Public Administration at NQF Level 7

     Added Advantage:

    • Registered member of HR Professional Body i.e. IPM or SABPP

     Minimum Experience:

    • 10 years Recruitment and Benefit Administration experience or HR Generalist environment of which 5 years must be at Middle Manager position

     Key Outputs:

    • Ensure the correct application of the recruitment function as prescribed by the Recruitment Policy & Procedure, including the advertising, short listing, and interviewing process

    Project Manager Level 1

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • National Diploma Civil Engineering (NQF 6), Professionally registered as a Pr. Techni Eng or PMP or SACPCMP

     Minimum Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Infrastructure Environment
    • 3 years’ Project Management experience with a proven track record in managing high level projects, project management skills (best project management practices) in terms of managing matrix structures, multi-disciplinary and multi projects

     Key Outputs:

    • Reporting to the PMU Manager, the appointee will:
    • Mobilise by appointing from various key functional areas within the enterprise, a team that is fit-for-purpose, embedding required capabilities for a successful delivery of the project.
    • Ensure that all supporting resources on the project are inducted
    • Develop tender document specifications
    • Liaise with Supply Chain Management (SCM) with regard to the publication of tender documents
    • Arrange appointment of external specialists to evaluate tender submissions
    • Co-ordinate project needs with the Infrastructure Development Plan
    • Initiate and monitor GIS inputs for all feasibility studies
    • Analyse feasibility studies critically

    Civil Engineering Planning and Design

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Sc. / B Eng. / B Tech in Civil Engineering
    • Required Professional Registration:
    • Professional Registration with ECSA either as Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr. Tech Eng.)

     Minimum Experience:

    • Five years’ design experience in the civil engineering field for water related projects.

    • Select optimum engineering solutions based on project life cycle costs, risk assessments, quality, environmental and political acceptability.
    • Produce detailed layout drawings and schedules for structural work in projects.

    • Develop appropriate special conditions of contracts for projects when required.
    • Ensure adequate site supervision is provided during the construction of projects.
    • Conduct briefing sessions during tendering and site hand over on behalf of Project Manager.

    • Develop appropriate specifications for the construction of civil and structural projects.
    • Identify the need for nominated sub-contractors in projects when required.
    • Provide technical leadership in the tendering process and award of contracts.

    • Manage disputes with specialist consultants.
    • Identify factors to build a cohesive internally focused team to meet corporate and functional objectives.

    Senior Manager: Water Resource

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • BSc Civil Engineering / Hydrology / relevant field - at least 10 years in water resource management plus Registration as Professional Civil Engineer

    OR

    • B Tech Degree - at least 10 years in water resource management Plus Professional Registration as Professional Civil Engineering Technologist 
    • Required Professional Registration:
    • Professional Registration with ECSA either as Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr. Tech Eng.)

     Minimum Experience:

    • BSc Engineering / Hydrology / relevant field - at least 10 years in water resource management
    • B Tech Degree - at least 10 years in water resource management
    • Managerial skills on broad spectrum related to the various fields of contact.
    • Two (2) years management function
    • Project related experience managing multiple water resources projects.
    • Collaboration and coordination with stakeholders and other Government institutions
    • Catchment management and Integrated Water Resources Management planning and implementation
    • Cultivating strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Ability to communicate and advise management on water resources issues.
    • Management of water supply agreements

     Key Outputs:

    • Reporting to the Executive Manager: Planning and Development, the employee will:
    • Ensure resource development management plans in supporting the operations, and the Planning & Development Activities of Amatola Water is in place.
    • Manage a water resources management system and provide a hydrological and geo-hydrological service to the organisation.
    • Ensure Water Quality Management and monitoring that could impact on the Resources (Dams) that feeds the organisations Water Treatment Works are in place.
    • Liaise with stakeholders to draft contractual agreements regarding services provided to Water User Associations to assist in the management of irrigation schemes.
    • Ensure short-, medium- and long-term raw water master planning with reference to current and future use, esp. with reference to construction of new dams or other bulk infrastructure.
    • Engage in Amatola Water corporate strategic planning processes.
    • Develop departmental business and action plans.
    • Mobilise resources to fulfil work requirements.
    • Co-ordinate, programme activities and work functions; both within and outside the department.
    • Monitor the implementation and operational phases of these plans, undertaking environmental sensing and evaluating the need to amend these plans.
    • Identify all water resource monitoring and reporting requirements.
    • Identify and develop control measures in liaison with Scientific Services to minimise pollution risks.
    • Identify Environmental Planning requirements for infrastructure projects and water resources/catchments management planning projects.
    • Ensure that the WCWDM Strategy is implemented at all times.
    • Ensure GIS requirements of organisation is met for infrastructure planning purposes, and water resources / catchments management purposes.

     Other requirements needed:

    • Knowledge of water quality and treatment processes
    • Formal management qualification, i.e. SMP or equivalent
    • Computer Literate – spreadsheets, word processing, presentation packages
    • Other water resources and hydrology models – added advantage.
    • Water & environmental legislation and contract law experience
    • Negotiating skills
    • Valid unendorsed drivers licence

    Preferences:

    • Previous experience in the water industry, specifically regarding water resource management, will be a distinct advantage.
    • GIS Knowledge of WRSM 90
