    Debtors Administrator-Mirabilis

    This career opportunity is available at Mirabilis a division of Santam for the Debtors Administrator, who will be based in Gauteng, Johannesburg.

    The main purpose of the job is to ensure that USD/foreign premium debtors are collected, arrears balances are kept at acceptable levels, broker relationships are maintained and commission queries are effectively dealt with.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    • Premium Collection / Premium Debtor Management
    •  Maintain Premium Debtor balances at acceptable levels
    •  Follow up on agreed payment terms
    •  Escalate ageing debtors to relevant marketers timeously
    •  Issue off risk letters for poor/non-payment of premiums
    •  Prepare and analyse age analysis statements and reports
    •  Ledger recons and journals
    •  Process premium refunds and confirm banking details
    •  Attend and initiate broker meetings to facilitate an efficient premium collection process
    • Liaise with the Admin department regarding ledger accuracy in respect of premium, VAT, SASRIA etc.

    Broker liaison and Commission matters

    •  Commission run
    •  Commission administration and statements
    •  Respond to and resolve all broker queries

    Banking / Account administration

    •  Upload daily bank statements for various bank accounts
    •  Capture premium refunds, claims and other payments as required
    •  Distribute proofs of payment
    •  Reconcile KIT bank charges
    •  Save monthly bank statement files
    •  Allocate claims excess and salvages
    •  Other ad hoc functions as required by management

    Qualifications and Experience

    •  Grade 12 and minimum 5 years’ experience in credit control in the short term insurance industry
    •  Good practical knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel)
    •  Knowledge of the KIT admin system an advantage

    Case Owner

    What will you do?

    • Santam’s Operation’s department has an exciting new role and position available for a Case Owner who will be based in the Service Centre team within the Commercial Contact Centre, Bellville.
    • The Case Owner will manage the Brokers experience by providing a dedicated service for high value requests from quotation through inception, amendments to renewal of the policy. The Case Owner is fully responsible for a specific portfolio; this includes regular engagement with brokers when it is required as well as the key stakeholders from Broker Services, Risk services and Claims.

    Key Responsibilities

    •     Provide a dedicated service to the brokers of a region, focussing on the high value policies.
    •     Understand the different Santam commercial offerings to provide good and proper advice to our brokers.
    •     Build strong relationships with the relationship manager and technical manager. 
    •     Understand the risk exposure for Santam and provide solid underwriting advice to key stakeholders.
    •     Ensure corrective underwriting actions by incorporating and discussing risks with technical manager, risk services and relationship manager. 
    •     Manage the referral process for above mandate requests. Ensure high levels of engagement by providing brokers with continuous feedback.
    •     Identify trends and inaccuracies in specific portfolio and take the necessary corrective action and or provide feedback to broker services and risk services.
    •     Ensure data quality
    •     Compile reports per Broker for discussion including trends and deviations from process

    •     Matric completed
    •     Relevant Insurance Related Qualification
    •     FAIS compliant
    •     More than 5 years Commercial Lines experience    
    •     In-depth knowledge of the different Santam Commercial offerings 
    •     Working knowledge of reinsurance
