    Inventory Manager

    Job Advert Summary    

    • Boxer Superstores, a leading retail company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Inventory Manager, to be based at our Distribution Center in Polokwane. This position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the management of stock, monitor warehouse capacity, and effectively lead a team of dedicated staff members. If you have a passion for logistics, stock management, and team leadership, this could be the perfect role for you. The role requires someone with managerial FMCG inventory experience.

    Minimum Requirements    

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in warehousing or distribution center operations
    • Proficient in working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • A relevant supply chain diploma/degree would be beneficial
    • Managerial inventory experience within FMCG is non-negotiable

    Desired Qualities:

    • Deadline-driven with exceptional time management skills
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
    • Demonstrated leadership abilities and some management experience

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure system stock and physical stock is aligned 
    • Manage periodic cycle counts and full stock counts within designated time frame

    • Monitor continuous pick face let downs

    Duties include, but not limited to:

    DEMAND PLANNER - GENERIC 

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop accurate demand forecasts for various retail product categories
    • Monitor and analyse market trends, historical sales data, and customer insights to optimize demand planning processes
    • Conduct regular demand reviews with suppliers, KAMs, and other external stakeholders to align demand and supply plans
    • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange
    • Coordinate with supplier distribution centres and third-party distributors to ensure efficient inventory management and order fulfilment
    • Work closely with transporters to optimize transportation routes and minimize lead times
    • Continuously improve demand planning processes by identifying areas for enhancement and implementing best practices
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate demand planning accuracy and identify opportunities for improvement

    DEMAND PLANNER - OUTBOUND SPECIFIC

    • Promotional lines forecast- Promotional lines sales at stores
    • Monitor store stock position -Promotional lines and out of stocks at stores
    • Manage new store order fulfillment
    • Maintain DC help desk and track queries until resolution
    • Collaboration with store managers and regional managers on planning
    • Allocation of stock to stores-collaboration with supply chain , buyers, transport , inbound planners to ensure stock in store
    • Monitor store replenishment and stock requests
    • Check back orders and highlight no/cross picks

    DEMAND PLANNER - INBOUND SPECIFIC

    • Managing in stock position
    • Managing stock levels
    • Managing discontinued, suspended and slow moving lines
    • Monitoring supplier strike rates as per delivery schedule
    • Supplier interactions( returns & uplifts)
    • Forecasting demand for peaks and promotions
    • Placing of Cycle orders with suppliers
    • Ensuring allowances and efficiencies are received
    • Highlight stock adjustments ( shrinkage to DC operations)
    • Damages vs swell allowance

This role reports directly to the Finance Controller and plays a crucial part in ensuring efficient administrative processes within our distribution operations.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in an administrative role.

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Analyze and process Goods Received Vouchers (GRVs) accurately.
    • Balance GRVs against invoices and address any discrepancies.
    • Raise claims for overcharges or short deliveries and prepare reports on all GRVs processed.
    • Compile and verify GRV and Inter-Branch Transfer (IBT) reports from the previous day, ensuring all tasks have been completed.
    • Ensure that all paperwork reconciles with reports and investigate any discrepancies.
    • Resolve discrepancies where possible; escalate unresolved issues to Head Office.
    • Request inventory counts to reconcile physical stock against system stock.
