Key Output

• Quickly and efficiently diagnose machine systems and carry out repairs, services and maintenance on Earthmoving Equipment on customer sites or at BWE site.
• Compile accurate customer machine analysis and reports including Machine Inspection Reports (MIR’s) and Technical Analysis Reports (TA’s).
• Maintain professional image when representing BWE.
• Ensure safe work practice.
• Control Contamination.
• Control own admin (labour booking, service reports, part returns, expenses etc.).
• Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• Qualified in relevant trade (e.g., Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic) NQF 3.
• Caterpillar Machine specific technical knowledge and skills.
• Trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.
• Computer Literacy (SIS, STW & ET) knowledge.
• Sound interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic technical report writing.
• Basic business and financial understanding.
• Applicable product knowledge.
• Driver’s licence – Code B.
• Understanding of supplier warranty systems, policies & procedures.

Key Output

•  Perform planned and breakdown repairs, services and maintenance on Earthmoving Equipment and components to supplier standards and customer requirements

Key Output

•  Understand category strategies and sourcing plans to support their regional execution
•  Ensure a full understanding of regional buying needs
•  Identify future supply and/or demand issues to ensure a proactive and effective response
•  Provide intelligence on potential or existing issues
•  Check accuracy of PR data
•  Where contracts are not in place, select suppliers by getting quotations or executing local tender process (with support from Senior Procurement Officers)
•  Raise PO to selected suppliers
•  Track the orders and report on the order status
•  Follow up with suppliers to ensure correct delivery
•  Inform relevant Category Manager/Analyst about supplier pricing and delivery issues
•  Understand and keep up with Macro-trends and regulations in the region and communicate findings with Category Managers/ Analysts
•  Communicate supply and demand issues / changes with relevant Category Managers / Analysts
•  Ensure that managers in local plants get the value agreed to from Category Management
•  Link local end users to sourcing actions to ensure new supply agreements are developed and implemented appropriately
•  Proactively manage operational risks and challenges stemming from regions
•  End user satisfaction
•  KPIs:
  •  %Spend by P2P channel by plant
  • Number of days’ reduction in P2P cycle time by plant
  •  Number of deviations in good receipts versus PO

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

•  National Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management (CIPS Level 4) or equivalent
•  1-3 years’ experience in procurement
•  Preferably experience in multiple geographies/regions
•  Good communication skills, SAP MM Module knowledge
•  Numerical ability, Resilience, Basic negotiating skills
•  Computer literacy
•  Core competencies: Analytical thinking; Attention to detail; Problem solving; Judgement/decision making
•  Verbal and written communication skills, Applied business numeracy, Excellence orientation

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

•  Minimum of 6 years’ experience as Mechanic General, Trade Test qualified in relevant trade (e.g. Diesel Mechanic/ Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic) post apprenticeship or learn ship experience.
•  Experienced trouble shooting and problem-solving skills on Earthmoving Equipment Machines.
•  Well imbedded machine specific technical knowledge and skills.
•  Sound interpersonal and communication skills.
•  Good technical report writing skills.
•  Basic business and financial understanding.
•  Computer literate (SIS, ET & STW) knowledge.
•  Good and experiences on Caterpillar machine and product knowledge.
