    Project Accounts Administrator

    Core Purpose:

    Responsibilities of a project Accounts Administrator include administrative, financial and support function of project-related assignment, including the approval, ongoing maintenance, revenue, analysis and interpretation and reporting on project performance within specifically assigned sectors, from Proposal Phase to Project close-out.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Control cost budgets on projects  to prevent cost overruns and variances.
    • Ensure the project budget aligns with fee agreements.
    • Process revenue reports and provide analytic reports to Project Leaders and Technical Executives.
    • Attend Sector Flash meetings to gain insight on Project AR, WIP, Health.
    • Review and analyze and report key performance data on projects including WIP, project variances, , Project health.
    • Monitor timesheet progress and follow-up to ensure timesheet completeness for individual sectors.
    • Assist General Managers / Technical Executives / Project Leaders with project and proposal maintenance, effort transfers. Close-out of proposals and projects and other project-related queries.
    • Perform any ad hoc duties as required by the immediate supervisor or management.
    • Assist with queries, requests, and financial and administrative duties within the Finance Department.
    • Ensure billing for allocated sector is processed on a daily basis.
    • Responsible for follow up with PL’s on positive WIP invoicing.

    • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages.

    Resident Engineer

    Core Purpose

    To manage and co-ordinate construction of Bulk Infrastructure services which includes: Bulk earthworks, Water and Sewer, Roads and Stormwater, some internal electrical reticulation on site on behalf of the Engineer. The ability to understand the Engineer`s design, providing the correct interpretation of the Engineer`s drawings and specifications, and to monitor that work is carried out in accordance to the drawings as well as the project ’s quality requirements. To administer the contract in accordance with the GCC 2015. Ability to interpret contractor’s construction programme.

    Key Performance Areas

    •  Responsible for total site management and project implementation.
    •  Maintain a full time presence on site (working hours to be agreed) and act as liaison between the Contractor and the Engineer`s design office.
    •  An all rounder-professional, comfortable working with building, civil, structural, electrical and mechanical Contractors, fully conversant with the technical issues and the building processes in the construction of civil, structural and building services works.
    •  Assist with initial setting of quality standards and control procedures and thereafter continuously monitor the supervision and quality control process carried out by the Contractor/s 
    •  Constantly review work procedures and monitor use of construction  materials 
    •  Examine Contractor’s proposed programme and comment when necessary 
    •  Monitor that the contractor performs duties in compliance with design and specifications 
    •  Making sure that work is carried out to the client's standards, specification, correct materials, workmanship, and schedule
    •  Becoming familiar with all the relevant drawings and written instructions, checking them, and using them as a reference when inspecting the works
    •  Provide contractor with technical interpretation of engineering design drawings and specifications 
    •  Overall technical inspections of work in progress and preparing progress reports.
    •  To ensure there is full co-ordination of various services and avoid clash of services on site
    •  Site administration which includes assisting the Engineers with payment certificates, signing off quality management forms, maintain appropriate site documentation and records of design change and compile regular progress reports 
    •  Maintain a site diary
    •  Receive contractor’s claims on behalf of the Engineer
    •  Evaluate contractor’s claims and recommend to the Engineer for a Ruling/s
    •  Issuing site instructions (within predefined limits) on behalf of the Engineer. 
    •  Having a working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and bringing any shortfalls observed to the attention of the Engineer.
    •  Taking measurements and samples on site to make sure that the work and the materials meet the specifications and quality standards
    •  Being familiar with legal and Contractual requirements and checking that the work complies with them, including a full working knowledge of GCC 2015 form of contract.
    •  Rigorous and detailed inspection of materials and workmanship throughout the construction process
    •  Arrange the completion of “as-built” drawings, construction completion report and associated documentation.

    :

    •  BTech or BEng/BScEng in the built Environment preferably civil engineering
    •  Professional Registration from a recognized professional body within the Built Environment specifically, PrTechni or PrTech or PrEng, PrCPM will be an added advantage. 

    Experience:

    •  A minimum of 10 to 15 years in site supervision, Construction Management and Contract Administration including experience as a Clerk of Works/Resident Engineer/Site Engineer/Site Agent on major Bulk Civil engineering works
    •  Knowledge of the OH&S Act, environmental requirements and its applications
    •  Administrative capabilities and report writing skills
    •  Knowledge of Civil Services (Bulk Earthworks, Roads, Stormwater, Water, Sewer)
    •  Exceptional communication skills written and oral

    Computer Competency:

    •  MS Office Suite including MS Projects

    Additional Requirements:

    •  Valid driver’s license
    •  Own transport suitable for use for site work
    •  Traceable portfolio of evidence that demonstrate experience in similar works (minimum of 5 such projects)

    Design Engineer: Structural Civil Works

    Core Purpose:

    The Structural Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing construction projects, civil structures related to large water conveyance projects, bridges and other structures. They work closely with architects, project managers and contractors to ensure that construction projects are designed according to specifications and that they meet safety, reliability, and sustainability standards.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Developing construction project specifications and designs based on customer requirements and design standards.
    • Collaborating with architects, contractors and other construction professionals to ensure that designs are feasible and meet project requirements.
    • Using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools to create and refine construction project designs. Creating 3D models and animations using CAD and BIM software.
    • Conducting feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to determine the viability of new designs and construction techniques.
    • Developing and maintaining project documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and reports.
    • Ensuring that construction projects meet regulatory requirements and adhere to safety, reliability, and sustainability standards.
    • Collaborating with project managers and contractors to ensure that construction projects are completed on time and within budget.
    • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings and making recommendations to senior management.
    • Conducting regular project team meetings and providing guidance and support to team members.
    • Ensuring that all project stakeholders are kept informed of project progress and any changes to the project plan.

    Job Requirements:

    Qualifications:

    • B.Eng or BTech Civil degree
    • ECSA Pr.Eng or PrTechEng preferable

    Experience:

    • Engineer 4-7 years / Technologist 8-12 years / Technician more than 12 years' experience.
    • Must have experience in the structural design of large water conveyance structures. 
    • Strong technical background in engineering.
    • Excellent design skills.
    • Proficient in using ACAD and Civil 3D software and other engineering tools.
    • Knowledge of construction processes and standards, as well as experience with project management.

    Bid Office Administrator

    Core Purpose

    Coordinating and managing the submission of bids, including tasks such as gathering documentation, ensuring compliance, tracking status, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Understanding of government bids requirements and bid process.
    • Excellent business communication skills both written and verbal (English).

    • Coordinate the end-to-end bid process, from identifying opportunities to submitting proposals.
