    Financial Advisor - Newcastle

    What will you do?

    • To provide financial advice along with a financial plan in line with the customer value proposition and treating customers fairly framework. 
    • To work in allocated key accounts and allocated markets.
    • To offer customer service to Sanlam clients.
    • To arrange appointments with potential customers within Key Accounts and Allocated Markets.
    • To update and inform customers and client public of our new products.

    Class of Business (COB):

    Should the candidate have been deemed Fit and Proper for Tier 1 by 01 April 2018, the candidate is then deemed competent for Class of Business. All applicants that were still under supervision for any competency requirement pre or post 01 April 2018 will be required to have obtained Class of Business prior to appointment. If a potential candidate has not completed Class of Business they are still deemed to be under supervision and cannot be appointed as a Financial Advisor.

    Qualification & experience

    FSB recognised qualification listed or credits pertaining to the date of first appointment in the industry, as listed on the most recently published Board notice as published for recognised qualification by the FSB.

    • Matric (grade 12) or NQF level 4
    • RE5 an advantage

    The Sanlam Data & Digital Academy (SDDA) forms part of Sanlam Group Technology. It is designed to build data analytical and technical skills which are critical in a fast-growing technological and data-driven environment.

    As a group Centre of Excellence, Sanlam Group Technology is responsible for the provision of digitally enabled technology services, driving business and transformation while providing the Group with its data and digital architecture. Much of our focus falls into the domains of cloud-native architecture, regenerative artificial intelligence (AI), data mesh architecture, machine learning (ML), insurance telematics, advanced cyber security, event streaming, and other technologies such as virtual reality.

    The Sanlam Data & Digital Academy is offering two exciting development opportunities over a 13 month period, aimed at launching your career in either the data or digital track.

    Data Track:

    • You are passionate about all things related to data: finding patterns in data, using data to build insight, aid decision-making and process action, and to create real value.
    • You want to establish strong foundations in data management and data engineering, in a fast-moving and complex enterprise data domain.
    • You’re interested in tackling complex data problems, and learning how to apply AI, ML, and regenerative AI to datasets to deliver unique insights, prompts and direction.
    • You aspire to develop your analytical skills to grow your career in roles such as Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Data Engineer, or AI/ML engineer.

    Digital Track:

    • You have a passion for engineering and solving complex problems.
    • You aspire to grow in the domains of engineering and modern engineering with an interest in cloud-native architecture, Infrastructure as Code, and application integration.
    • You want to solve problems by applying the latest innovations in the digital world, modern engineering practices, as well as modern integration patterns, and AI techniques.

    During the 13-month program, you will receive:

    What will you do?

    The Para-Planner is a specialist role primarily responsible for supporting independent Advisors by undertaking financial needs analysis and producing financial plans for clients. The Para-Planner needs expertise in risk products and strategies, investment products and strategies, regulation and tax implications.

    The incumbent also requires sufficient customer management and sales skill to attend face-to-face customer meetings and actively assist the Adviser as required in managing the customer relationship.

    Key functions:

    • Undertake financial planning analysis for Advisors based on client driven Advisor requests covering Risk, Investment, Retirement and Business Assurance solutions.
    • Assist Advisors with sales and marketing support.
    • Ensure proper Compliance is undertaken in all processes.
    • Assist the Advisor to maintain their client base and ensure sound client service.
    • Develop and Maintain Relationships with key relationships within the channel and region to support delivery (i.e.: SSA, Helpdesk, Glacier BDM’s etc.)
    • Ongoing education and learning in order to remain up to date with all relevant legislative/compliance, tax, Sanlam and competitor product offerings and financial markets and instruments.
    • Presentations and coaching intermediaries

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Matric or equivalent qualification
