    Product Specialist - Platreef

    Mission:  

    • This position is to promote the technical support and communication flow, technical service and competence of the Boomer - Boltec - LHD equipment within Epiroc. To ensure Customer Satisfaction during the contract period, through the cognizance of machine performance, and availability, including operating costs, and the safety of employees as well as the efficiency of labour

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Installation & Commissioning of underground Diesel equipment
    • Troubleshooting and technical assistance on Underground drilling / Bolting / Hauling equipment
    • Optimize Drilling & Bolting application according to underground environment
    • Assist on right drilling tools and GET are used to ensure optimum drilling / hauling performance
    • Ensure all pressure and RCS setting are aligned to mining application
    • To ensure equipment performance and high equipment availability,
    • Conduct regular machine audits / daily inspections
    • Assist customer in Schedule and Preventive and back log maintenance 
    • Assist customer in Workshop repair jobs
    • Attend Breakdown Calls
    • Assist in Maintenance and critical parts planning
    • Conduct operator and maintenance staff training and evolution
    • Share best practises and assist Operator in drilling / Bolting / Hauling application
    • Implementation of Technical Service Bulletin / Modification as and when applicable
    • Process Warranty claims as and when applicable
    • Perform RigScan on scheduled intervals
    • Coordinate with Technical Team at head office
    • Build strong relationships with our customers

    Main Duties:

    • Commissioning of machines
    • Pre-delivery service, some in workshop and on site
    • Commissioning of underground equipment
    • Implementation and monitoring of new technologies in area of responsibility
    • Weekly status reports
    • Suggested improvements to Epiroc and customers
    • Record keeping of implementation process with suggested improvements

    Communication:

    • Reports on all site visits to clients and manager
    • Customer activity / prospects
    • Customer problems
    • Communication with your office, on an ongoing basis, of your movements
    • Monthly Utilisation must be above 85%Main Responsibility or Functions of the Job

    Educational Qualification:

    • Grade 12
    • Technical qualification (Trade Test)
    • Experience on underground TMM equipment.

    • Very strong technical background
    • Computer literacy
    • Good customer relations
    • Good telephone manners and skills
    • Good product knowledge
    • Interpersonal skills to work with customers and suppliers and to work as part of the

    Application Coach - Platreef

    Mission:

    • Safeguard that the Underground Drilling machines achieve optimal performance at our end customers. Resulting in an increased customer Satisfaction leading to more machine sales and new smart technology.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Undertake technical investigations in order to resolve problems and provide customer support
    • Implement and prove Smart application concept through demonstration and that the product works for enders
    • Lift both theoretical and practical drilling competence with end customers and
    • Customer Centre colleagues
    • Educate Product Company personnel in drilling applications
    • Support Marketing in planning and execution of drilling DEMO's for potential   customers and against competitor machines
    • Responsible for Start-up and Commissioning Smart technology.
    • Manage testing and verification of new drilling applications with existing product portfolio
    • Promote and sell Smart package agreements
    • Support PSD team when introduction of new technology
    • Support / Educate customer organization in production and maintenance
    • Act as application advisor for the product manager team in new product development projects
    • Suggest functional development based on experience from the field
    • Support Marketing and PSD team in introducing new machine models in new markets
    • Fulfil other services related to his duties as required
    • Sell your expertise to end users

    Educational Requirements:

    • Grade 12

    Required Skills and Capabilities:

    • Experience on underground drilling equipment, Drill rigs, LHD's and Trucks.
    • Electrical experience / PLC / RCS knowledge
    • Computer literacy
    • Good understanding of ground condition and mining situations
    • Good customer relations
    • Good telephone etiquette and skills
    • Good product knowledge
    • Interpersonal skills to work with customers and suppliers and to work as part of the Product Support team

    Shift Supervisor - Platreef

    Mission:  

    • Safety of all subordinates.
    • To ensure a high morale of all subordinates.
    • To ensure efficient and cost effective machine maintenance of all machines in his area of
      responsibility.
    • To ensure an above 85% availability of all machines in his area of responsibility.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Supervise and manage maintenance and breakdown staff.
    • Repair of breakdowns.
    • The Foreman must make himself fully conversant and comply with the relevant standards, procedures and legal requirements pertaining to his work.
    • Accept full responsibility and accountability for all work designated to him within his area of responsibility.
    • Report any contraventions of standards, Legal requirements or procedures as well as health and safety hazards to his immediate supervisor after he has done all that are reasonably possible to rectify the situation.
    • To carry out all duties safely and that the sub-ordinates under the Foreman's supervision work safely and in accordance with proper job instructions.
    • In addition to these specific duties, the Foreman may be required to perform tasks necessary for, or incidental to, the proper performance of his work.
    • The Foreman will be required to comply with all reasonable and lawful instructions given by his superiors.
    • Report and manage damages on machines.
    • Appoint in writing all his sub-ordinates and their alternatives to appropriate areas and associated equipment for the execution of effective maintenance and repair.
    • Ensure that all subordinates and contractors working in his area of responsibility are appointed and that all subordinates and contractor personnel are competent to carry out their duties and all machinery and equipment used by the contractors conform to the mine standards and procedures.
    • He will be responsible for the recognized and proper maintenance of all the equipment mentioned in his area of responsibility.
    • To have in writing all correct maintenance procedures for the machinery and equipment mentioned in his area of responsibility.
    • To keep all of the appropriate Epiroc manuals to aid proper maintenance and fault finding for the machinery and equipment in his area of responsibility.
    • To have in writing the correct repair procedures for the machinery and equipment in his area of responsibility.
    • The proper record keeping of all work done in logbooks provided for all machinery and equipment in his area.
    • Keep record and report breakdowns, call-outs, spares usage etc. for all equipment in his area of responsibility and for the interest of continual condition monitoring purposes.
    • Assist the Maintenance planner in compiling reports and feedback to the maintenance planning system.
    • All hazards must be identified in his section and remedial measures drawn up and implemented to eliminate accidents incident. (All accidents incidents in his section must be reported to his immediate supervisor without delay.)
    • Oversee and maintain the correct fire risk standards within his area of responsibility.
    • He must adhere to all relevant Policies and Procedures, Engineers Instructions,
    • Engineer's Work Practices, Codes of Practices and Engineering Standards pertaining to his area of responsibility.
    • Have a system in place to institute team rules in the section for proper internal discipline.
    • Control his working cost within the set parameters and extension of components' life.
    • Act as a link for the training department in the technical and behavioural training of all his sub-ordinates.
    • Be prepared to act as a coach in the event of training any subordinate to be competent in his appointed tasks.

    Educational Qualification:

    • Grade 12
    • An applicable trade test, i.e. Hydraulic Fitter, Electrician or Millwright.

    Required Skills and Capabilities:

    • Good Technical Background.
    • Knowledge of Epiroc Machines.
    • Computer Literate.
    • Customer Relations.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Must be able to work shifts.

    Technician Assistant - Platreef

    Mission

    • Promote and protect Epiroc brand reputation by providing a world class service to Epiroc customers. Act and behave in honour of the Epiroc values and brand promise at all times.

    Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

    • To assist, under guidance, with the stripping and assembly of compressed air equipment, in order for quotation preparation
    • To perform duties in Service Workshop and customer’s site
    • To ensure quality work at all times
    • To be available for after hours work as and when required
