 Purpose of Role

Planning is responsible for integrating appropriate information from all relevant mining disciplines in order to design appropriately feasible mine plans. Mine plans requested from this role are monthly, annually, 5 years. (Geology, Survey and Rock Engineering).

Work of Role

• Compiles shortterm plan in accordance with LoL and 5year plans in conjunction with line management
• Schedules new layouts and design for project type work (extensions, new block, new ideas) on Cads mine / Mine 24 D
• Analyses KPI’s and highlights potential highrisk areas
• Ore reserve availability
• Schedules the 1year and monthly plans with input from line management
• Development / stoping replacement ratios
• Put controls in place to ensure production plans are adhered to

Qualifications

• Grade 12
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Survey, Mine Overseer Certificate, Advanced Survey and Valuation Certificate
• Certificate in Mineral Resource Management  Advantageous

Experience

Minimum of 3 years’ experience, as well as experience in mining planning software

Knowledge and Skills

• Cads Mine, Deswick and scheduling software programme skills compulsory
• Competence suitable to generate relevant reports from the CADS mine/Deswick schedule
• Competent in all components of the Mine Planning Process – mine design, schedule, services and resourcing the plan
• Understanding of the following disciplines: Geology, Survey, Rock Engineering, and Ventilation
• Understanding of mine planning procedures

Purpose of Role

Survey Assistant supports the Surveyor during surveying and measuring by providing skills to the Surveyor in the process of data collection, either on surface or underground.

• Quality survey support
• Facilitation of equipment transportation to and from working places
• Ensure that all equipment is prepared timeously for the work needing to be completed
• Assisting with pegs and grades installation
• Assisting in the measuring of development and stoping
• Identifying and reporting noncompliance with standards
• Ensuring relevant equipment availability
• Ensuring that equipment is maintained in a good working condition

Grade 10 Numeracy and Literacy

Experience in working in an underground environment
