    Coordinator: Firearms Management

    Requirements

    • Be in possession of a Diploma in Forensic Investigations and Auditing, BCom Degree in Law or Policing or equivalent.
    • Should have Office Administrative Management, National Diploma Law.
    • Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a firearms management environment.
    • Knowledge of Information and Records Management skills
    • Knowledge of Firearm legislation.
    • Knowledge of Criminal Procedures Act.
    • General Firearms knowledge.
    • Knowledge of firearms management (administration of an Official institution)
    • Computer literacy skills
    • Office administration skills.
    • Project management skills.
    • Compliance management and database management skills.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide administrative support services for the department.
    • Analyse, coordinate and verify the following reports for approval: Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reports.
    • Maintain accessible workstations, systems and control registers ensuring compliance and control standards are adhered to.
    • Assist in the management of departmental information as per SANParks policies and procedures.
    • Ensure efficient coordination of departmental activities by setting up administrative systems and creating work schedules, organizing resources to meet work objectives and prioritising work accordingly.
    • Cooperate, liaise, and develop good customer and public relationships, establishing and maintaining a network of contacts.
    • Manage, coordinate, analyse, and maintain accurate and detailed control registers/records of all firearms as per legislation (National Firearm Stock Register, National Firearm Stock Register, National Ammunition Stock Register etc).
    • Assists with inspections/audits at the Parks as and when required.

    Senior Investigator: Forensic Investigations

    Requirements

    • Be in possession of a National Diploma in Forensic Investigation/Law/Forensic Auditing or equivalent qualification.
    • Must have 3-5 years of working experience in a Forensic Investigation environment.
    • A Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or a Forensic Practitioner (FP) would be advantageous.
    • Knowledge of professional standards of the Associations of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and/or Institute of Commercial Forensic Practitioners (ICFP).
    • An understanding of criminal law, criminal procedures, and law of evidence.
    • Knowledge of Prevention and Combating of the Corrupt Activities Act.
    • Knowledge of the Protected Disclosures Act.
    • Promotion of Access to Information Act.
    • An understanding of fraud risk management practices.
    • Understanding of SANParks policies and procedures.
    • An understanding of the Public Finance Management Act and Treasury Regulations.
    • Knowledge of project management.
    • Knowledge of personnel management.
    • Understanding the SCM framework.

    Responsibilities

    • Implement the Forensic Investigation Standard Operating Procedure.
    • Implement the Whistleblowing Standard Operating Procedure.
    • Contribute to the review and development of applicable governance documents.
    • Assist with the coordination of and conducting fraud risk assessments.
    • Support the identification of fraud risk response strategies.
    • Support the monitoring of fraud risk response strategies.
    • Support the review of and updating the fraud risk profile.
    • Conduct forensic investigations within prescribed timeframes.
    • Assist with monitoring the implementation of recommendations resulting from investigations.
    • Support the panel of forensic service providers.
    • Support the maintenance of the fraud register.
    • Interview witnesses and implicated parties.
    • Obtain statements from witnesses and implicated parties.
    • Collection of information/evidence.
    • Draft investigation reports upon finalisation of investigations.

    Field Assistant (Biodiversity Social Projects)

    Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Code 08 driver’s license

    • 2 years of experience with contracting teams/management of personnel

    External Bursary Programme

    Call for 2025 intake – The South African National Parks (SANParks) is looking for aspiring youth entering their first year of undergraduate studies in the 2025 academic year to join our external bursary programme.

    What SANParks does

    • South African National Parks (SANParks) was established in terms of the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act, 2003 (Act No 57 of 2003). The primary mandate of SANParks is to oversee the conservation of South Africa’s biodiversity, landscapes, and associated heritage assets through a system of national parks. It also must ensure that South Africans participate and get involved in biodiversity initiatives and that all its operations have a synergistic existence with neighbouring communities for their educational and socioeconomic benefit.
    • One of the strategic directions of SANParks is growing community support, providing access, benefit-sharing and benefiting local communities, thus the call for applications for the bursary opportunity. This bursary scheme is intended to benefit children residing in communities neighbouring or adjacent to of the National Parks and will be implemented by the SANParks.

    Bursary Application
    The Field of study applied for but not limited to, includes Degree & National Diploma in the field of:

    • Environmental Sciences including Nature Conservation, Environmental Management, Green Energy, Environmental Engineering, sustainable development and Game ranch management
    • Tourism including Hospitality Management, Resort Management, Tour Guide, Events and Conference Management.
    • Social Sciences including Community Development, Economic Development, Socio-Economic Development and related Development studies

    This is a Comprehensive Bursary

    • Academic merit will be considered during the selection process, as well as, the imperative to increase the participation of women, people living with disability and designated groups.

    Requirements

    • Recipients of the SANParks bursary Scheme must be South African citizens.
    • They must be learners from communities living adjacent to National Parks as defined in their management plans.
    • Proof of application and admission to an accredited institution of Higher Education eligibility for funding.
    • Must be entering post-matric study in 2025.
    • The bursary is open to students who are pursuing a qualification in a TVET college.
    • Must be youth, aged 18 – 35.
    • For students currently registered at Institutions of Higher Education, they must have a 100% pass rate to be considered (passed all the courses for which you have registered at the university for the study period already completed).
