    Senior Specialist, HR Business Partner

    POSITION DETAILS

    • Accountable for giving credible, effective and sound HR advice to Area Manager, Production Manager, Process coaches and Team Leaders regarding HR related matters.
    • Effective and sound support to production management on dealing effectively with HR matters in respective allocated areas. 
    • Responsible for being the business partner in terms of HR functions i.e. labour relations, recruitment, talent acquisition, organization design, talent development, compensation, well-being, and compliance of the company.
    • Develop, communicate and implement the strategic direction of the operations to achieve the business strategies, maintain employees’ morale and build employees’ capabilities.
    • Support the development and drive the achievement of the annual HR and business strategy taking into account business priorities.
    • Diagnose and deliver full talent interventions (quality, diversity, and depth) against business needs.
    • Succession plans determined and delivered, accountable for final resourcing decisions down to agreed levels, embedding core processes, and talent pipelines in place.
    • Define, communicate and put into effect specific capability requirements for production areas.
    • Developing depth of leadership Capability to build our leadership talent for the future.
    • Coach the Leadership team ensuring that they are delivering on their purpose and inspiring their teams.
    • Deliver change programs – deliver continuous organizational and productivity improvements.
    • Measure organizational health and lead appropriate employee engagement and reward and recognition strategies.
    • Ability to initiate, be policy keeper in disciplinary and incapacity hearings.
    • Attend constituency meetings and relevant union meetings, and report back to labour relations and line management respectively. 
    • Accountable for working closely with labour relations to ensure stability in plant and specific area. 
    • Accountable for ensuring sound relationship management between production management and shop stewards. 
    • Ensure effective control and record keeping of meetings, hearings and relevant constituency statistics in line with Ford requirements.
    • Liaise effectively with COES within Human Resources Department and be sound and effective champion of COE initiatives.
    • Coordinates the implementation of the Ford Voice action plans for the area.
    • Responsible for all matters relating to recruitment.
    • Reconciles the monthly headcount report in consultation with the area supervision.
    • Attends weekly manning meetings and ensures the accuracy of headcount reports.

     Responsibilities

    PERFORMANCE MEASURES/ SUCCESS CRITERIA

    • Generalist Human Resources experience
    • Good understanding of manufacturing operations.
    • Ability to conduct disciplinary process including representing Company externally.
    • Implement Union / Company agreements.
    • Promote professional communication through consulting with Union members and build relationships.
    • Support implementation of people operating strategy.
    • Ensure delivery and sustainability of HR targets.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

    • Good conflict resolution skills.
    • Good Consultation and negotiation skills
    • A thorough understanding of labour legislation and ability to apply such in the workplace.
    •  Intermediate to advanced PC Literacy.
    • Understand and apply HR processes and computer systems.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Bachelors, Honours or Master's Degree in Human Resources (Honours or Master's degree would be advantageous) 

    Experience:

    • 2 years and more Human Resources experience preferably in an Auto industry or manufacturing industry environment (with high Union presence)
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, NBF Agreement, Employment Equity Act
    • Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge.
    • Good attendance record, clear disciplinary record, flexible to work occasional long hours.
    • Availability to work overtime and alternatively weekend work.
    • Ability to cope in ahigh pressured and stressful environment.
    • Excellent command of English language 
    • Ability to work individually with a passion to win. 
    • Demonstrated experience working and liaising with Senior Production Management and Senior HR Management.

    Safety Technician

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate Safety and Health Legal audits, surveys and ensure compliance to the OHS Act
    • Safety issue investigation and resolution (Safety and Health Complaints)
    • Review Personal Protective Equipment Needs and Suitability
    • Coordinate Statutory Safety related training
    • Conduct Safety Observation Index Audits
    • Conduct Injury analysis and develop PJO questionnaires
    • Conduct routine internal audits and inspection and log findings on CCAR
    • Introduce and drive new initiatives in terms of health and Safety in the plant
    • Regular internal communication at all levels by way of daily morning meetings and set cadences
    • Verify all High Potential Near Miss incidents and verify corrective actions implemented
    • Conduct administrative  
    • Control Audits and provide feedback to respective areas
    • Update monthly shop score cards
    • Assist Occupational Hygienists with hygiene surveys and compile action plans on findings (Develop CCAR for non-conformities)
    • Daily, Weekly and Monthly Statistics Updates
    • Assist in Emergency Response
    • Contractor Safety Management including training and auditing.
    • Drive FPS Program through SOS enforcement, process confirmation, WIS updates in line with RAMS and JDI performance board updates
    • Ensure daily focus on safety with relevant checklists and safety walks
    • Perform incident investigations, generate reports and statistics to relevant departments
    • Ensure Legal Safety Compliance Implementation and tracking by way of CCAR
    • Identify and assess hazards on new layouts before sign off
    • Training employees on the importance of health and safety on the job. Ability in making recommendations following any accidents or incidents
    • Update chemical registers
    • Facilitate monthly departmental safety meetings
    • Develop, update and maintain departmental training needs analysis
    • Perform workstation readiness, picture audits and station buy-offs

    Qualifications

    • Minimum National Diploma in Safety Management 
    • 2-3 years in Health and Safety

    Rental Fleet Sales Consultant

    Responsibilities

    • Key Account Management: Manage and optimize the rental sales process to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.
    • Sales/Lead Generation: Develop and implement strategies to attract and convert rental clients. Identify and target new business opportunities within the rental channel to achieve or exceed the sales objectives as defined in the annual budget. Actively promote Ford’s rental offerings through various channels (online, offline, partnerships).
    • Client Engagement: Develop strong relationships with rental clients by providing exceptional customer service; Understand their specific needs, rental requirements, and budget to offer tailored solutions; address inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally; maintain regular communication with clients throughout the rental process; conduct vehicle demonstrations and present rental options to rental stakeholders
    • Client Support: Provide holistic sales and service support to portfolio of clients. Maintain detailed tracking of all vehicle orders and deliveries. Manage and control all service providers such as convertors/ bodybuilders and accessory fitters (canopy suppliers etc.) to ensure on time order delivery. 
    • Sales and Closing: Negotiate rental terms and secure rental agreements; ensure timely and accurate collection of rental payments.
    • Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, competitor offerings, and evolving rental needs.
    • Sales Support: Preparing proposals, presentations, and sales materials to assist in business development efforts.
    • Networking: Representing the Ford brand at events, networking sessions etc 
    • Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales Manager and other team members to achieve sales targets; Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment; Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities.
    • Administrative task and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all client interactions, rental agreements, and vehicle-related documents Stay updated on company policies, vehicle maintenance schedules, and relevant regulations.

    • Strong understanding of the vehicle rental market and industry best practices.
    • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
