    Senior Manager, Provincial Marketing

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    To develop and oversee the implementation of marketing strategies and activities for the Wealth and Investment business units across geographies to grow and retain clients and assets. To be accountable for all aspects of go-to-market planning and implementation for Wealth and Investment to position the business unit’s capabilities to internal distribution channels, staff, clients, and the external market.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Marketing Degree
    • More than 10 years’ experience in leading a senior Marketing team in the implementation of marketing strategy for a medium to large organisation.
    • A proven track record in converting organisational knowledge and target audience insights into executable communication plans, coupled with the ability to design and oversee the implementation of marketing strategies either globally or across Africa.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    Data:

    • Keep informed of developments in the fields of marketing, communications, public relations, digital marketing, client experience and financial services in order to use the insights gained to drive the organisation agility and innovation.
    • Commission appropriate research, through Strategic Insights Team, to develop relevant client insights to give direction to the Marketing and Communications Strategy. Translate and analyses research results to influence business action.
    • Provide the business units Heads with insight around competitive positioning and develop action plans to differentiate offerings through marketing communication. Enable effective decision making by reporting on the effectiveness of campaigns to assess the return on investment.

    Client:

    • Execute and analyse integrated marketing strategies, take to market plans, and value propositions to deliver the desired client experience.
    • Drive and oversee client hospitality and event plans in support of deeper client relationships. Direct the development of marketing solutions which capitalise on new client opportunities.
    • Act as the voice of the client, ensuring ongoing client insights gathering, and the incorporation of behavioural sciences and data analytic

    Financial Management:

    Develop and monitor budgets for marketing spent within the business unit that is consistent with the financial guidelines provided by the business unit and Wealth Marketing.  Responsible for ensuring that the marketing financial objectives within the business unit are met by overseeing forecasting requirements; preparing a consolidated annual budget for marketing across the business unit; analysing overall variances; and directing corrective actions within the team.

    People:

    • Develop recognition for formal and informal collaboration that resolves issues, prevents issues, and creates value for internal and external clients. Accountable for the recruitment, development, motivation, and retention of marketing staff ensuring the team is adequately staffed and skilled to deliver on the marketing plan.
    • Partner with Human Capital to ensure skills assessments and competency-based training takes place as and when required to build expertise within the team and to foster an environment in which leaning, and development are emphasised and valued.
    • Build organisational capabilities through evaluating likely future requirements and ensuring that individuals are provided with the best possible development opportunities in line with these.
    • Develop and maintain open communication with direct reports and support staff to foster greater co-operation and teamwork. Monitor and manage the performance and development of staff within the team. This includes regular one-on-one feedback sessions, conducting mid-year and final performance appraisals, as well as the moderation and relative distribution of all appraisals for the team.

    Product:

    • Provide strategic direction to all third party agencies working on the business units marketing inclusive of but not limited to advertising, digital, promotions and media agencies ensuring all marketing activities contribute to the Wealth strategy and continuously drive proof points of Wealth and Investment and Investment and Acquisitions capabilities.
    • Provide input into the development of new markets and propositions within the various business units to support the continued relevance of the various business units' offering.
    • Direct and oversee all marketing related activities and functions including direct marketing, digital and social media marketing, public relations, events, sponsorships and market research ensuring effective implementation in line with the marketing plan.

    Strategy:

    • Develop and implement marketing strategies, inclusive of a communications, public relations, marketing and digital and social media strategy, for the Wealth and Investment business unit
    • Develop an in-depth understanding of the various business unit strategies, plans and objectives in order to develop marketing strategies in line with the business needs, Standard Bank Groups Marketing and Comms strategy and overall Wealth Marketing strategy.
    • Develop global marketing strategies with local execution and create centre of excellence where appropriate to drive agile adoption of marketing practices from one jurisdiction to the other.

    Technology & Architecture:

    • Drive the development and implementation of a digital marketing strategy.
    • Develop and implement marketing evaluation systems that relate business unit goals and objectives to the impact of marketing interventions in order to illustrate the return of investment of the various interventions.
